Description

Specialties

We help people stop fighting and stay out of court. We help them make the best plan they can for their families. With six certified, experienced mediators available, we meet with clients in a variety of locations, including Alexandria, Fairfax, McLean, Reston, and Springfield.

We help people make their decisions, put them in writing, and avoid adversarial litigation. Family mediation is private and confidential. The mediator’s role is to help people negotiate constructively and create solutions that work for them in their unique circumstances. Is that not the best way to resolve family problems?

Benefits of Mediation (instead of Litigation)

— You resolve issues quickly.

— You resolve issues inexpensively.

— Family members experience less distress and have less need for therapy.

— You build a better foundation for cooperative co-parenting.

— YOU make the decisions. You do not have to give your power to a stranger in a black robe whose personality and prejudices are unknown.

History

Established in 1999.

Colin Family Mediation began in 1999. We became Colin Family Mediation Group LLC in February 2014.

Our primary mission is to help family members solve problems and resolve disputes constructively in private, confidential meetings.

Dr. Colin also has a second mission. She wants to educate the world about the existence and value of family mediation. Far too many people have never heard of this profession. Far too many people suffer unnecessary anguish and trauma because people do not know what family mediators can do.
