Vince’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

Went here for lunch and was not expecting much but was very shock. The food was great we have the spaghetti with meat sauce. Great flavor and staff was very nice.

I’ve been coming to Vince’s since I moved to West Seattle in 1990. The restaurant has a comfortable, family feel to it and I often see that same customers year after year, which speaks well of the place. Though some of the staff have changed over the years, there are others who have been there since I started coming and always have a friendly greeting for us. I bring out of town visitors here and they always request we go there on their return trips through town. I’ve never had a bad meal here and I would guess between my wife and I we have tried pretty close to everything on the menu. My wife likes the Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca and the Bianca pizza, while I love the Fettuccine Alla Caprese and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. We often add Sauteed Mushrooms to our meals, though I have to say they can range from average to amazing, depending on the cook. Vince’s is part of our restaurant rotation and we end up here at least once every two weeks.

Why did I just get finished paying $ 17.48 for a small pizza? Ok… I should have read the menu prices but I assumed it should be no more than $ 10-​$ 12 dollars but $ 17… To add insult to injury the pizza was super bland.
I’ve been coming to Vince’s since I was a child and wanted to support a local business but I do not stand behind that business model.

Just so you know, DON’T order the bacon pizza… Miserable, greasy mess. Not even real bacon, just bacon fat pieces barely cooked and we ended up with a soaked, greasy crust and the whole thing was inedible. I want my $ 18 back!

horrible food. not worth it. no flavor and at second glance should have just had some frozen pasta and called it a night. service was great but come on really this is your best effort at presentation and seasoning. the best thing food wise was the dressing on a relly sad salad. no need to take my word but i was really disappointed. hope you have a better experience

Vince’s Special Pizza with black olives and a glass of Lambrusco wine is our standard coming here over the years. They never fail me when I need my pizza with a glass of wine. We used to go to the one in Rainier Beach since I was in high school. Since they closed that one, we track down to Burien or Renton to get our Vince’s fix. I love this place!

I went with a party of three and we split a large bacon and pepperoni pizza. The bacon was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. It was whole strips of bacon which added a strong smoky flavor to the pizza. Possibly one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

Many of the other reviews are right on. Vince’s used to be better. Tonight we had the eggplant parm and the Vince’s special pizza. The eggplant was ok but it’s sauce was very salty and tasted like it was just out of a can. The pizza had white cheese on it with no indication it was high quality mozzarella because it didn’t taste very good and didn’t have that orange oil that bakes out of the better cheeses. The pizza had way too much sausage and the pepperoni was bland. The pizza crust was chewy and not toasted like a good fresh dough pizza should. Just not a good pizza for $ 26.

Before Italian restaurants went main stream there was Vince’s – started in 1959 – if you had an Italian Grandma this is how the food would taste – the wine list is written before the time of the wine connoisseur – it’s sweet/​white/​medium/​full bodied/​hearty Red – Frank Sinatra plays in the background and you sit in old style diner comfortable red booths with red checkered table cloth – the pizza is hand tossed Vince’s Special @ $ 15.85 perfect for one or two – the Calamari Fritti appetizer @ $ 10.99 is always a hit as is the Polenta and sausage @ $ 11.99 or try the Awesome Pollo Marsala @ $ 15.99 and the Tiramisu Mousse @ $ 5.99 finishes the meal – comfort food Italiano – cheers Al

Just meh. The dinner salad was swimming in vinaigrette. Got the eggplant parm and it was okay. Not great but not terrible. The pizza dough was pretty flavorless. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. If you’re in the market for a totally mediocre meal check this place out.

If you like TV dinners, you will like Vince’s. The food was bland and defiantly not with the money you pay. On the bright side, the service and atmosphere weren’t bad.

I was really surprised by this place and I mean that in a good way. After all, its name is Vince’s. And doesn’t this sort of make sense? The fact that any American major city would have a Joe’s (or Giuseppe’s), Tony’s (or Antonio’s), Louie’s (or Luigi’s), Sal’s (or Salvatore’s), and/​or Vince’s (or Vincenzo’s), and sometimes all of those, is a no brainer. And you should probably expect Americanized Italian food.
The food at Vince’s in Burien is in fact slightly or moderately Americanized, depending on what you order. It’s also a pizzeria, for take out or dining in, so it is meant to have broad appeal.
As far as the food goes, it ranged from ok to excellent. The stuffed pasta dish with its thick sauce was al dente, flavorful, nicely seasoned, and consistent. It was the main event of the meal and its best component. The salad and the bread basket which arrived prior to the main dish were also good. While I wouldn’t say it was a disappointment, the tiramisu mousse wasn’t as good as I was expecting. The very narrow tall goblet made it hard to dip down to the bottom of it and clean it out. That said, I should have gone with the limoncello cheesecake. I like cheesecake and liqueur flavored (amaretto, limoncello, etc.) desserts tend to be good most of the time.
The service was very attentive. However, my experience might not be a good gauge of this. It was toward closing time and the restaurant was not crowded.
The prices were fair. They were right in the ball park for the quantity, quality, and genre of Italian cuisine.
The location is nicely maintained. It’s not decked out as someone would reasonably expect for a fine dining situation because it’s not meant to be fine dining. It’s more like that of a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. Make no mistake that these folks are Neapolitan, as in «Nah-​boo-​lee-​dahn,» an Americanized pronunciation which is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. If the limoncello cheesecake wasn’t a clue, then all the interior paraphernalia and picture (s) of Sophia Loren ought to confirm that.
Lastly, Burien is a nice quiet town with a quaint downtown. It is largely unknown to many, including myself, because, if veering west of I-​5 on WA 518 to go to Seattle’s airport, you generally don’t continue past the top end of the runways into Burien and beyond. One time I did, and it was to pass through to check out a nice nearby area on the Sound named Normandy Park.
So, if you like hearty Italian fare and you’re not a food snob, give Vince’s in Burien or its other Seattle area locations a try.

This is my favorite pizza in Burien. The crust, the sauce, and the pepperoni are really, really good. Also worth checking out, the minestrone soup and the gnocchi. Other than Dino, the service is hit or miss.

The chicken Marsala is the best I’ve had. Great kids menu and very accommodating. Good for picky eaters basic spaghetti and meatballs is a no fail. Pretty average pricing for dine in Italian. Burien has many Italian restaurants within a mile or two each other. Nice atmosphere not stuffy and

Vince’s can be so hit and miss. Occasionally, we’ll come in, be seated right away, our server comes promptly to take our drink orders, the drinks come out quickly, our food will is served quickly, and the server is extremely attentive throughout the evening. Other times, we have to wait almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and even longer to receive our food. We’ve also had some issues with our to-​go orders: once, after ordering the Pollo al Limone to go, they boxed up the chicken and lemon sauce with the side of pasta and meat sauce, making everything taste like a lemony tomato sauce. That said, the food served in-​restaurant is never a disappointment. The Pollo Marsala and the Pollo al Limone are both excellent. Their bread is also some of the best I’ve had. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a shot for the food – just be prepared in case it’s one of their slow service days.

My mom, 2 year old daughter and I went out for dinner. When we arrived we were promptly taken into the restaurant.
This is about where things went down hill for me. Our drink orders were taken. I asked for water for my daughter and When the waitress brought us our drinks she gave my daughter a glass of water. Seriously? She is 2! I asked if she had a plastic cup, in which she replied «no». I was disappointed that this «family» restaurant doesn’t cater to children.
I wasn’t even asked by either the host or waitress if I needed a boaster chair or high chair. Back to the glass of water. So no plastic cups? Well my pop was delivered in a plastic cup. Hummmm. Makes you think.
When our food arrived, my child’s meal off the kids menu, was so hot that she actually started crying after grabbing a spaghetti noodle. I had to use a smaller plate left on the table to separate some noodles to cool it down. The noodles were scolding hot. Once again it came from the kids menu. wtf?
As a child would, she made a mess. I had to search for and grab my own napkins to help clean up a toddlers mess.
The food was ok.
My mom asked for the special which was written on a board at the door and was brought something completely different. Ok? Was there two specials? Because only one was written. So where was the mess up?
I was not pleased at all.

We took my dad here for his b-​day dinner not too long ago. It had been a while since I have eaten here so it was nice to check it out again.
The parking lot was full but when we went inside the place wasn’t that packed, which was nice since we were able to get booth seating. Right away we received really good service and our drinks and appetizers came out pretty quickly.
We ordered the mussels and bread sticks for apps and I went with their gnocchi with pesto sauce with a cup of their minestrone soup. My wife went with their fettuccine with ham and got their salad.
I liked the appetizers but ended up liking the bread sticks better than the mussels dish. I had a couple that were gritty and some were a little chewy. I also liked the soup but next time I think I will go with their salad with their house dressing (I think pesto?), I had a bite from my wife’s plate and I really liked it.
My gnocchi was really good though, I enjoyed it a lot. It was rich and the pesto sauce was not overpowering, it had a great balance between the pesto and cream.
Our waiter was real attentive to us and the manager even checked in a couple times. It was nice to receive service like that.
The pricing was about average, for three people with appetizers our bill with tip was around $ 80 so not too crazy imo.

Very yummy minestrone. The side salad was not very exciting. We order the all you can eat soup lunch and added the side salad, which is an amazing deal. Also got a large pizza that we pretty much took home whole. The pizza was good, but I’d definitely come back for the minestrone!

This place used to taste so much better — lately, the food is so bland, I have to stop myself from literally dumping tons of parmesan, salt and pepper on my food.
Typical Pacific Northwest service — expect to wait and ask for everything.
I won’t go back unless I’m dragged there. They can’t sustain those prices for that poor quality of food.
UPDATE — I did receive some sort of feedback from someone @ the restaurant and they would look into what I had said — but said they were surprised… I still won’t go back.

Vince’s pizza was my number one all time favorite pizza in the world, until my grandson told me about MOD Pizza. MOD is in the running by virtue of geography, it’s closer to my house — but if they were across the street from each other I’d definitely go to Vince’s.
Why is Vince’s my favorite? Because it most resembles the pizza my Dad made at home. Imagine a happy, hard-​working Japanese man trying mightily to engineer the perfect pizza — and that’s what Saturdays were like at our house.
That means a handcrafted pizza with fresh, quality ingredients, and a crust that’s neither too light or too doughy, a sauce that’s rich but not sweet, and doesn’t overpower the toppings. They use a quality cheese with just the right amount of body. Oil is going to be a byproduct of any food item where meats and cheeses are involved, but Vince’s pizzas are gratefully free of excessive oil.
Vince’s also does a very nice pasta carbonara with just the right amount of pepper, and their linguine with clams in also good albeit somewhat pedestrian. They’re not my first choice for linquine with clams, that’d be either Buca Di Beppo or Maggiano’s.
If you’ve left room they have a nice dessert menu. They have a nice profittaroli (there’s 3 so be hungry or plan to share), a decent tiramisu, and spumoni which is nice every so often. When I lived closed to a Vince’s I was a frequent patron. They do a great all-​around job.
