This is a gem! Fresh baked breads and amazing pastries. Their tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had! El pastor is so good and they have hot sauces that they put on top that make them nice and spicy too. Cool candles and awesome selections of hot sauce. Love this place cheap as well and staff is friendly

We forgot our dinner rolls for Thanksgiving and needed to stop somewhere near our destination. We found this market open and my Hispanic brother-in-law from LA says this is a great market. We had to ask for help to find bread rolls and were taken to the back of the store where there several racks of bolillos next to the sweet bread. I learned that you place the bolillos that you want onto the metal trays, take them to the cashier who puts them in bags upon purchase. I think I have found my source for French bread to be used for Po-Boys and Bahn Mi.

Decided to cook some fajitas on Saturday and as we were on the way to Safeway decided to come to Guadalupe as a first stop. As we walked in you can see they have a taqueria attached and making fresh tortitas and had an attached lunch buffet with all the great Mexican pork dishes. I was blow away and reminded me of being back in Texas. I ended up going to the meat counter and found the most incredible flank steaks laid out in think slices that were just the best visual I’ve ever seen that were stacked six beside each other at least 10 or 12 layers deep. We ended up getting 2 of them while they wanted me to buy 6 – 7. We got some fresh salsa(red and green), beer and everything we needed for dinner. It ended up being the best fajitas dinner I’ve ever cooked that night and have to give Guadalupe Market a bulk of the credit for their great ingredients.

I’ve been shopping here since last year, but my experience has changed over time. The best experience about this market is that the cashiers work hard to get you through the line quickly even when the line builds up, and are very friendly! Recently though, the customer service has been okay at best; and very bad customer service at the bakery. I won’t get into the details about that for personal reasons, but because of that, I will never shop at Guadalupe Market again. I’ve had very pleasant experiences at other panaderías and I will be taking my business elsewhere close by.

Good selection of pastries and wide variety of imported Mexican foods and goods. They make their own brand of corn tortilas. A taqueria is also right next door.

My family has been a regular here for years. When I say best mexican sweet bread. I mean THEBESTPOSSIBLYINTHENORTHWEST, I’ve never had sweet bread or even bread from here that disappointed me. I am giving 5 stars just for their amazing bakers. Even my mother who has high standards for mexican sweet breads, LOVES this place. Bakery– 6⁄5 Butcher– 3⁄5 Taqueria– 2.5÷5 Grocery needs-5/5 The store meets your needs, but the bakery is what sets it over the top.

This fresh mexican breads here are good, its so clean and well lit, it makes me want to buy one of everything. One thing I have to note is that I do not like their fresh tortillas that they sell here, its too thin and when I try to heat it up on the tortilla cooker thing that toasts it, I have tried several different heat levels but if I pair it with taco meat the tortilla is like rubber and it isnt good. What I found most helpful is cooking it on high heat and literally toasting it on each side for 5 – 10 seconds or else any long will make it hard to chew… but I like their prices for mexican cuts of meat, they also have really good flavor for the preseasoned meats like the taco meat or chicken or carne asada meats. Clean, organized and good priced. Also LOTSOF selection for piñata candies too!

Mostly, their pan dulce is AMAZING. Bolillos are also really good. They have a ton of Mexican candy that it’s hard to find elsewhere, and also good homemade crema, queso, etc. I haven’t tried their food. But, it’s my go-to place for all things Mexican! I think I need to go back and get a 2ft tall glittery Guadalupe statue.

I admit, I was hoping for a better experience. Coming from the Bay Area, there are tons of Mexican-flavored groceries and even the Safeways tend to carry a pretty good selection of items when you want to get your Mexican on. The same cannot be said in Seattle, so after consulting Unilocal,I headed to Guadalupe. I had my daughter with me and the first thing that they did was shake me down for trying to bring in a stroller. Lame, but I wasn’t buying much anyway. The good news is that they had everything I needed and if I wasn’t holding daughter in one arm, I would have spent more time browsing and buying other crap. However, I sort of prefer not to be messed with when I go grocery shopping so this was a total downer. The sad part is, I fear that Francisco G.‘s review may be right. This place is as good as it gets… in Seattle.

This is one of the few places you can find a tortilla machine with fresh hot tortillas in the greater Seattle area. I am not going to pretend that they are as good as the fresh ones at Mezcaleria Oaxaca, but, they are very good quality for cooking chilaquiles, quesadillas, or other things around the home. The bolillos are also very tasty for making tortas and my wife also can’t resist buying some chicharon any time we make the trip. Just like most of the places in this area, the«carne asada» for sale at the carneceria here is really prepared more like adobada. I’m not sure if the carneceria is better than El Paisano a few miles away in White Center, but, it might be just as good. The verdict is still out on that one. All the same, this place is really worth the trip, and I’d really like to try the taqueria attached next door during a future trip.

As good as it gets. in Seattle. I love their pan dulces. They have their own bakery so you will not find hard old bread from last week here. Their kitchen is also good. I miss my carne con chile and other homemade foods from back home(L.A.) so this is a good place to treat my taste buds. Although, the kitchen isn’t open all week only weekends. I come here once a month since I live downtown but it’s worth the drive.

Probably my most favorite places to shop for Mexican goodies. The fresh meat selection is great, the bread selection wonderful, and the cakes are delicious! Oh and the fresh made tortillas, to live for! Only drawback is the restaurant is attached to the market in a strange way. You have to order, get in the grocery line to pay and then get your food. It makes so that you don’t want to order any pre-made food. I shop there frequently and will continue to do so.

After all of the reviews of the homemade tortillas I got excited, but really they are only corn and all corn tortillas are about the same to me — decent, but nothing spectacular. I wish they made fresh flour tortillas. I need to try the tamales, but they are only open on certain days of the week.

Great prices, lots of sweet breads, a taqueria, it’s a great place! It’s a bit odd that things like seeds and pepitas are hand bagged in zip lock bags. Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. They make fresh tortillas and chips there, which I bet are very good, I didn’t try them.

The carnicería is alright. I’ve bought some well prepared chuletas adobada and carne asada from ‘em and they grill up great. Burien is a pull but as long as I’m living in West Seattle the run down south is doable. There’s a subtle pinche gabacho subtext to the place. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not overt and doesn’t stop me from coming back. My Spanish sucks, figure if it was better than I’d be able to swing a different dynamic compared to both buyer & seller using a secondary language.

This place is our Seattle tamale headquarters. They have good prepared masa and it was amply stocked on Christmas Eve… a minor Christmas miracle. They also have a wide dried pepper selection: New Mexico, Pasilla, Ancho and Chipotle. They also have dried corn husks, big kettles, and the other basics. If you’re making tamales, you’ll dig it. Beyond the wide world of tamales, many folks appearing to be going there for mexican pastries of which they have a wide assortment.

I was throwing a surpise party last month and I really wanted to find a piñata. I searched West Seattle, and then headed south. Stopping in lots of places in Burien, I looked and looked, but no Piñata. Then I found Lady Guadalupe— Piñata Heaven. I got a giant bear piñata, wearing tan pants and a big smile, for 20 bucks. Perfect.(I resisted the giant pink kitty piñata somehow.) I also got a nice bag of fresh tortilla chips, some lovely cilantro for cheap, and good jalapenos. Love it!!!

The deli or cocina or whatever you call it is dreadful. Just dreadful. Also, a bit of chilango picoso attitude at the meat counter that might rub you the wrong way, at least it does my Mexican spouse. As far as the rest of the grocery store goes… it’s fine. Too bad, it’s not PC to stock«Negritos» in Mexican supermercados in the United States. I have to be in Mexico to find them. A negrito is a doughnut shaped liked a little hot dog bun, with chocolate icing and a chocolate filling. Negritos are made by a company named, ahem, «Bimbo».
