Although it took some time to get our order it was most certainly worth the wait. The food was super fresh and delicious… ill be back for sure!

The food is so good! We order it for lunch at least once a week and it’s just super fulfilling. The meat is always well-cooked. The hummus and salad are fresh and tasty! They do delivery and always get here in 30 minutes after calling in.

If I have a kebab craving, this is where I go. Zankou is across the street, but this place is better. When you walk in, it feels like a nice little hole-in-the-wall. The owners are friendly, the portions are huge, and the chicken is tender. Sure, it takes a little longer for your food because they make it fresh on the spot, but it’s well worth the wait. Also, their hummus is to DIEFOR. Enjoy!

Their grilled chicken sandwich is probably my favorite sandwich ever. I’ve ordered food here a couple of places to make sure the taste is consistent and it is. I don’t know how they do it but the sandwich is just this giant happy mesh of flavors that all complement one another. I’ve also tried their fries(delicious, always hot and never TOO seasoned) and their chicken kebab plate(also delicious; rice can be a miss sometimes with how dry it is, but the chicken is always A+). Their garlic sauce is also to die for! Their food is made to order, so calling them first before you come in is advised. There’s a tiny lot attached to the restaurant with spaces for four cars but I’ve never had trouble finding street parking. The people are always friendly and I’m really happy that there’s a small business alternative to the overpriced Zankou’s down the street!

This place is legit. The owner super nice guy from syria, that provides excellent customer service. The food is on point, and had a more authentic taste over zankou. Highly recommend, will come here again. I ordered the shish and chicken kabob.

So good. Beef Lula always on point. Moist and firm at the same time with an abundance of flavor. Hummus is bomb. Their pita, lavash is freaking amazing. Pro tip: if you want to order to go, call it in first. Since its all good fresh eats it takes time to produce(15 – 20 minutes if you order at the counter). Call it in, homeboy!

Food was fresh and simple. Portions were large enough to eat and take some home. Downfalls would be wait time 15 – 20 minutes for two plates eventhough we were the only people in the entire time. The other would be that the customer service was not very welcoming. Definitely will not rush back anytime soon.

One of my favorite, if not favorite kebab places. That’s definitely saying a lot, especially in this area. Their chicken shish(chicken breast) plate is the best I’ve had. The salad and rice that accompany it are perfect. The dressing on the salad is traditional and delicious, and the rice is legit. No cheap Uncle Ben’s or anything like that. It is always cooked perfectly, and the service is always super friendly. So glad I discovered Vako’s. I will always return.

Oh man oh man! We got kebabs catered to work because my district office is right across the street. It probably was THE best Mediterranean food I have had in the valley. So yum! We ordered the chicken, and steak(shish) kebabs. And we had felafels as well. They were so cute(shaped like donuts). It was really yummy. I’m salivating just thinking about it. HAHA!

The food looked exactly like the picture on the menu board(that doesn’t always happen). Tasty, too. Also very reasonably priced.

Good Mediterranean food. Made to order. Better take cash, other than that they will charge extra $.50 for credit or debit card processing fee. Also, must order ahead by phone, if you order at the site, you need to wait at least 15min for your food to come out.

I’ve been going here for the past several months whenever I need to fulfill my kabob craving and yes there are a ton of mediterranean options in Burbank & Glendale, but you really cannot beat the price and quality that Vako provides! One of the most important things to me in recommending a place is CONSISTENCY. Vako never fails to deliver juicy chicken kabobs and tender beef kabobs.(Sorry that’s all I order from there haha~) But yes, highly recommend this place because you get great quality and quantity of food for the price. Plus, I can’t get enough of that garlic spread… SOGOOD. Also just wanted to say that service here is great — super friendly and down to earth. I love supporting smaller businesses rather than Zankou or other chains. Check it out if you get a chance!

This place has hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called ahead to see how long it would take to get an order for 7 – 8 people ready, and was told 20 minutes. Called back again with my order and again was told 20 minutes. Had to repeat myself a thousand times on the phone to get my order across but hey, that happens sometimes. Then, as I’m on my way out the door, I get a call saying that it’s actually going to be 45 minutes. Literally the entire reason I called ahead was to avoid this kind of thing. When I get to the restaurant, there is literally one guy working. I guess their other person is out on a delivery? Then, another guy comes by(I think he said he was a neighbor but I’m not sure), asks to see the paper with the order on it several times, even though I gave them the order over the phone. I’m actually writing this from the restaurant, where I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes. It’s been almost an hour since I placed the order. I’m not sure how the food is but it could be he beat kebab I’ve ever had and it would not be worth it. Don’t come here. There are a lot of places in LA that will get you a kebab without an hourlong wait.

The food here is truly not bad, i would eat it again, no problem. I wouldn’t drive to Burbank just to eat it, but if it was offered to me, I would eat it. I will not be eating at this restaurant again though, the service level is pretty low and the wait is interminable. There was seriously one table ahead of us and it took them 45 minutes to get our orders of kabobs out. What are they doing back there? Is my beef and chicken getting imported from Armenia? We ordered drinks, but the guy didn’t give us our cups, so when we asked him about it he looked our group, shrugged and said sorry I’m busy… LOLWTF? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Well Mr. Vakos Kabobs, we’re hungry and thirsty… perhaps ya’ll accommodate could some of our needs, seeing as that’s how restaurants generally work. But hey what do I know, I’m just that guy that’s making him busy and getting in his way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Delicious food, I usually order beef Lula Kebab and rice, with fresh salad or hummus. I tried kabab in a lot of restaurants, but they are the best. Even rice is cooked differently. Overall i am giving them all 5 stars.

So glad I found this place! I was having a family gathering and after looking over the cost of Zankou I decided it was time to search around for a new Mediterranean place that was more affordable. Thanks to all the lovely people on Unilocal I found Vakos Kebab! Not only are they cheaper than Zankou… their kabobs are bigger and tastier! My family was so happy to have found it. What sealed the deal for me was their great customer service. The gentleman who helped me was very warm and welcoming. Overall it was a good experience! We’ll be back!

Wow this place is a real hole in the wall. Would have never knew this place existed if it was not for Unilocal.Really glad I decided to stop by and give Vakos a try. When you first walk in if you dont look at the menu the décor looks like and old burger joint. Once you like at the menu then tou realize what type of restaurant you are in. The menus is very small and simple. I ordered the combination with beef kabob and chicken kabob and my fiancée ordered the Beef lule. The beef kabobs was cooked perfectly and full of flavor and the chicken was not too dry. The lule was nice and juicy with a good spice kick to them. The meals are huge so you definitely get your moneys worth. You also get plenty of rice, and a side salad, hummus, and pita bread. The restauarant looks like its only ran by a Husband and Wife couple who run the whole operation. Parking is in the back or on the street if available.
