University of La Verne

This is the absolute last straw of this school. For the past few years I have been making excuses for this school and saying «Perhaps it will get better» it does not. STAY AWAY from this school! If I could give it NEGATIVE stars, I would. The only redeeming factor are some classes.
As a transfer student, I have been met with horrendous EASY errors that were not my own. While I was ecstatic that they accepted all my transferred scores — and some not but that’s okay! — everything seemed well at first.
Until registration and classes were brought out. Honestly, the only thing GOOD (arguably the best) about this school is the PSYCHOLOGY Department. If you want to regain passion or find passion or even learn something of value in this school it would be the amazing department in Psychology.
Parking is now a horrific mess. Seeing how the majority are commuters of this school, we are forced to go into tiny shuttle lots with strict time periods. While the range is decent, with Finals it becomes a nightmare. Parking ticketing is also rampant here but it is not too bad compared to other schools.
Registration and Financial aid though? Is the WORST. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL if you want to CONSTANTLY argue. EVERY semester I have found that there is an issue with registration. There will ALWAYS be an issue with registration and then the scramble to obtain your classes before the rest of the campus does. While easy to get overrides, it is HORRIBLE as the wait is nearly hours and by the time it is complete — which is NOT your fault but the STAFF — your classes are gone. Great right? It gets worse.
Recently, outrage has been brought up which Registration denied any GE classes to be taken by Seniors and Juniors. This was not told to ANYONE. Hours later it was lifted, but the amount of stress it has caused is unbelievable.
Additionally, they will always have errors upon errors of your Financial Aid. It would appear EVERY SEMESTER my invoice would be at least 5 digits to 6 digits off. Just recently I have obtained an Invoice from LAST YEAR asking me to owe them money in the 5 digit range. I have naturally paid this last year or else I would not have gotten my classes. Of course, they sent this to be CONVENIENTLY after their Hours have been closed. And thus now I must wait DAYS until I can settle this BS but guess what? Everything is on hold now. Perfect.
Again. Terrible school. Terrible parking. Terrible food. Beautiful Dorms, but the prices are out the roof — which is fine seeing how this is a private school. There are no coloured printers. The library is unbearably small. Absolute crap Financial and Registration department that will only waste your time and add in more stress. I have yet to graduate, but seeing how poor this school is, I would rather be anonymous so they can not pull anything else out.

This campus is not closed! They have been offering Business degree programs for adults for over 30 years. It is located off campus in Burbank because it’s more convenient for people in LA rather than driving all the way to La Verne. They also have a campus in Valencia at College of the Canyons University Center. This is a an elite university! They are fully accredited by WASC and are ranked every year among the best national comprehensive universities in the country by US News & World Report College Editions. They have corporate discounts too. Check it out!
