This is the place to go if you need computer repairing and broadcasting !! Andy is the guy if you need any and I mean any technical help. They have reasonable prices, free estimates and amazing turn around time! Amazing amazing amazing!!! I got my camera back within 48 hours and I paid fraction of price with what his competitors asked for. I highly recommend this place!

They ordered several lasers to repair CD players from my company and then disputed the CC charge once they had the parts. We never got paid for over $ 500 worth of parts.

On August 4, I dropped off my grandmother’s laptop at this location for a free estimate (as suggested by the Toshiba company). I did not know what was wrong with it. A particular light just would not turn off. I warned the employee that I would be vacationing in Mexico from August 5 – 11. I told him that they should email me the estimate and that I would be checking my email account during my vacation. I received an email from Michael S. on August 7 just saying, «Toshiba p55-​a5200 5d018953m is ready for pick up.» I responded with the following on the same day:
«Hello Michael,
Can you tell us what the issue was and how much it will cost to get it repaired? As I mentioned when I dropped it off, I will be out of the country until the 11^th of August. If you give me the above requested information, we can likely speed up the process if the prices are to my liking.
Thank you»
On August 10, Michael responded, «Notes from my tech RESETED. TESTED OK.» My cousin and I called the company once I was back in the US on August 11 to confirm that it would be okay for him to pick up the laptop on August 12. They said it was okay and they explained again that the laptop did not have any issues to be repaired. My cousin picked up the laptop from the business on August 12. Like the information in the email, the employee who gave my cousin my grandmother’s laptop said that all they did was open up the computer and close it and it was working. There were no issues– hence, no charge.
Today, at 8 a.m., a woman named «Jasmine» called me and harassed me about me supposedly owing her $ 129. I laughed and described everything that had happened. She threatened that if I don’t pay, she will forward «my debt» to collections. I called back about 5 minutes later and asked to speak with the owner of the business. I was told he’d (Andy) would be in at noon. Jasmine called me back about 15 minutes ago (15 minutes before noon). She said proudly that she is the owner’s wife and that she knows my kind– that I like to get things done for free and not have to pay for them; that she does not know how I do it– maybe I smile or wear a short skirt, and additional offensive remarks.
Related to an Armenian saying, if someone looks through dirty eyes, everything will appear dirty. It is more than clear what kind of a person this Jasmine character is. Do not assume everyone is like you, dear. Some of us were raised to be civilized human beings and have amounted to more than just working for our husband’s companies.
I told her that I literally have email correspondence with her company explaining exactly what I am stating and she is still ignoring it and threatening to turn over «my debt» to collections if I do not accept her «discounted rate of $ 90» for the «repair.» Running a business by threatening and scamming people is not right. They should not be allowed to continue this scam! I will be reporting their shady business practices! I will also be contacting Toshiba so they know who they are sending out their customers to.
I agree with Reynald A.‘s review– these 5 star ratings are very suspicious!

I went in today for my Mac to be looked at. I informed them I need it ASAP so the tech came out and started testing at the counter while explaining what he’s doing and once the testing was done I was told I what it will cost to repair it. Since schools started I need ed fixed yesterday. So I asked if it’s possible to get it done today explained it why. I was told I can wait or I can go have lunch or coffee break and my Mac will be done within 2 hours.
I went back in 2 hrs and my laptop was ready to go.
I want to thank them for fast and friendly service. Why am I thankful? Well apple store diagnosed it yesterday and wanted to send it in for repair — will take 7 – 10 days and will cost 3X more.

Dianne, Harout, and Andy totally made my day when I brought in a broken camcorder. My uncle passed away a few years ago and I found an old box buried in our garage with his camcorder packed neatly away. I discovered a tape was still in the camera but after I ejected the tape the cassette carriage would not reseat back into the camera. I called Tek and they said they would take a look if I brought it down. I took this 20 year old camera to Tek and within 15 minutes they fixed it. I was totally blow away by their level of professionalism, knowledge, and their willingness to help me. I have never experienced customer service like that before in LA. You will not be disappointed if you bring your gear to Tek. I HIGHLY recommend their services. They will absolutely go the extra mile for you. I wish I am able to give them 6 stars!

Excellent! I first found them because they work on studio gear, including old ¾″ tape machines. I took in my high-​end Betamax recorders (remember them?). At first, they felt they couldn’t repair them, lacking some parts. But, I said they didn’t need to be perfect; just functional again. They came back working like Swiss jewel watches. The machines never operated so well, and the heads beautifully aligned.

I took my Epson Home Cinema 8350 to Tek Media Group for repair. They were friendly, kept me well informed about the status of the part order and repair, and now my projector is back in action. I’m a happy customer and would recommend them to others.

I thought it was cool they didn’t charge for an estimate but now I see why.
Firstly, the said they’d take a day or two to give me an estimate. I waited a week and had to call multiple times before they returned my call.
Second, the estimate was for $ 600 for a projector that costed me $ 450. The technician said if he didn’t replace the motherboard the rate would be $ 375. Honestly it felt like was pulling numbers out of the air. Also, he wasn’t sure he could fix it too.
Thirdly, I decided to just pick up the projector and not repair it. When I came to get it, they didn’t even screw it back together fully. Top part came apart as I’m walking to the car. The guy that gave it to me didn’t care & said «well that should be like that but the tech ain’t here now»
Crappy service. Crappy place. My guess is they just replace parts & can’t fix crap. Also, these positive reviews might be fake. Always suspicious of reviews where it’s mostly 4 stars & 1 star back to back.

I had a very god experience. The company was recommended by Samy’s camera. Took in my printer, got a call explaining what was wrong, it was fixed, picked it up, price could not have been better.
I will definitely use them again.

The best experience! I took my Toshiba notebook in for a faulty fan and installation of recovery media/​operating system. I got my diagnosis the same day and it was ready for pick up the next morning! As if that wasn’t amazing enough, I was charged an incredibly fair and low service fee. Anywhere else would have charged 3 – 4 times what I paid! Andy is a very honest and kind man, and his staff are all professionals. Highly recommended and will definitely be a repeat customer! Thanks again, Andy! :)

What a horrible experience I had with Tek Media Group. My projector started acting up and I noticed the lamp indicator light went off, so I went ahead and replaced the bulb. Still didn’t do the trick. Decided to take it to Tek Media Group and have professional look at it. It was anything but professional. They COMPLETELY ignored the fact that I put in a BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED lamp in and told me «it needs a new lamp». No matter how many times I told them, they insisted I got a new lamp. So I took the projector back, bought a new lamp on the off chance I was wrong… of course I wasn’t wrong. Installed the new lamp… NOTHING. I’ve seen some praise on here for Andy but I didn’t get «5 Star» Andy. I got «rude, apathetic» Andy who doesn’t know squat about projectors and set me back $ 100 for a new lamp. Took it to Stone Electronics and the guy had it figured out and fixed in a day! A DAY! I will never EVER give any sort of business to Tek Media Group again.

The repair/​new part is still great, over a year later.
Still happy, and so I stand by my previous review.
It is a true accounting of my experience with Tek and Andy at that time.
I hope that Unilocal will not think that I am some paid shill for this company and posts my glowing review, finally, rather than leaving it filtered out of sight.

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST CAMERA REPAIR SHOP EVER! I am a professional Incident Response Photographer and I need my equipment working well at all times. I brought in my Canon telephoto ens for repair of the manual focus ring that was sticking. They kept it for three weeks. When I went in to pick it up, every movable part was jammed. I took the lens to International Camera Repair in Pasadena and they stated the following: «Whoever worked on this lens did not know what they were doing. First, they broke the auto-​focus motor. Second, they jammed the follow tube when they re-​installed it. Third, they packed the Image Stabilizer motor are with grease. They then told you that they had replaced the zoom tube which they didn’t. They broke your working lens, and lied to you about what they said they did to justify the $ 575.00 price.»
IF YOU VALUE YOUR EQUIPMENT DO NOT GO THERE!!! EVER!

I am a true believer in second chances. No one is perfect, we all have our off days.
With that said, I was surprised to receive a call from Andy the owner of Tek Media Group after my initial review. My printer still needed to be repaired and he offered to repair it with no charge and with an extended warranty. I returned the printer and the work was completed by the next business day. Communication and follow through prompted this updated review. Thank you Andy!

Experienced and knowledgable staff. Technician Arutyun was very helpfull and friendly. Prices were more than fair. Can’t say enough.
For any of your camera or computer repair needs I would recomend them every time.

I have to agree with A.T. They have horrible customer service. We just dropped off an Epson 4900 and we had to call back 3 times to find out the status. Each time we called they said someone would call us back and no one ever did. After 3 times we decided to show up and ask for our printer back. Call Epson and they do have techs that will come out and fix your printer one site.

Had some issues with a Sony EX1 that wasn’t done completely to my satisfaction.
Could have likely been resolved if I lived in the area and communicated better with Tek.
Would use them again though. Probably an isolated incident.

I lOVE Tek Media… Andy is a Mac God and has saved my digital life multiple times… he always knows whats wrong and can fix it. Better yet, he actually understands that people these days NEED their computers, so once he figures out what the problem is and orders the parts, he actually lets me take the computer (if operable) so I can continue working while I wait for the parts to come in — then I take it back and he gets it fixed fast. This is so NOT the way most authorized repair places operate… they want you to leave it for days and with Apple you have to ship it back to them… which results in lots of missed work for you…
My advice — if you have a mac, you want Tek Media — you want Andy. P-​E-​R-​I-​O-​D!

Yikes ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC service place. I would give NO STARS if possible. Epson also sent me to this service station for my 5-​month old Epson PRO 4900 and I wish I could give them a glowing review.
First, it took them 2 days to schedule me in and during which I had to constantly call to make sure I was scheduled and someone could actually come in.
1. Highly Disorganized
The first time they sent someone over to service the machine, he didn’t know much about the Epson 4900 even though they are supposed to be certified by Epson. I had to teach HIM how to load papers and save settings.
2. Not knowledgeable
When Epson said to send the printer over to their shop, they came and pick it up and the technician didn’t ask for any of my papers or files to troubleshoot with. And then the printer sat in their shop for 3 days before the technician (same guy) did anything, and he only printed out 20 sheets, none of which were using the same process we did when he was at my studio.
3. No methodology or process for troubleshooting
So when he finally asked me to bring in the papers, I had to drive it there myself, and then I arrive and find that he had made NO effort (or more likely didn’t think of it!) to recreate the printing process at my studio when he saw the problem. Further more when I had asked on the phone for him to make sure to print on larger sheets, I arrive at the shop to find that he had hand-​cut with A PAIR of SCISSORS from rolled papers in the recycling bin, they had NO perpendicular corners! Appalling!
Any printer technician worth his salt, ESPECIALLY an Epson Pro one would know that the printer would show a paper skew error if he tried to load papers like that. How do you troubleshoot a problem when you’re creating a new one?
Then I sat there with him for 2 hours and insisted he looked for regular precut sheets of paper. And I taught him to load it properly and how to save settings, AGAIN. The poor guy, he really was like a fish out of water. I don’t know that he even repairs printers he knew so little of it.
So, after all this ballyhoo and I am trying to get them to send the printer back to my studio, the receptionist scheduled me in for Thursday between 10am and 11am. They don’t show up and NOBODY calls me. I call them and she tells me they are short staffed and the technician is delayed on site. She said she will call me later.
4. Unprofessional-​zero communication among staff, can’t keep schedules
Of course, nobody calls me and I had to call her. She said, okay tomorrow between 9 and 11am someone will be there. She apologized.
I call the next day when nobody shows up AGAIN and I DON’T HEAR from them. She puts me on hold, spoke to the guys and then said, oh the technicians said they will deliver it this afternoon.
I wanted to bang my head on my desk. What? How difficult is it to give a customer a courtesy call to let them know that they can’t make the delivery, THREE TIMES? Not only do they have zero communication between the delivery/​technicians and the customer relations, they could not even keep any of their schedules and left me basically hanging, waiting around for them.
5. Unmotivated staff begets poor customer service, possibly the saddest part of it all
So of course, I questioned this when I called and spoke to the lady/​customer relations who scheduled me and she basically told me none of this was her fault and that I should take it up with the manager if I want to press on.
Unbelievable but yet, the signs are there all along. It was clear that Tek Media Group does not take its accountability and responsibility to clients seriously which makes me think that internally, for some managerial reason they do not take care of their staff. Everyone seems very unmotivated and dispirited and therefore not performing! So very unfortunate. Now why would you want them handling your EXPENSIVE equipment?
Please, do yourself a favor, avoid this service place at all costs. Learn from my mistake. It will save you a lot of money, pain and heartache.
