Wow Laura M got lucky, no place will give a full refund after tanning for 3 weeks. I don’t know how you didn’t get any color, that doesn’t sound right at all. I’ve been going here for over a year and Dan and staff is awesome. It’s large and very clean! I love this place

I had never been to a tanning place before– I chose this place because the person on the phone, Dan was really informative and nice– I told him I wanted a nice tan by Memorial Day– the place is large, nice and very clean– Dan and his staff are very nice and accommodating —
After religiously going for 3 weeks, and every other day — by the end of the 3 weeks I barely had any color — I did not get the tan I wanted by Memorial Day — I did go to Dan and let him know that I was not pleased w the results– after a little back and forth we decided the best thing was to just give me a full refund– which he did–
I won’t be trying this whole tanning bed thing again– this experience just kinda burned me out in the whole experience —

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Immaculate, air conditioned, pretty, relaxing, welcoming, reasonable, plenty of parking, the list goes on… I came here on the recommendation of a friend and had high hopes. They did not disappoint. Everyone that works here is super nice and they are always on their game. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. They have TONS of rooms and even have a leg tanning bed, score! Tons of packages and options. If you buy a membership you save even more money. This place is the best. I have been coming here for several months and will be a customer as long as they’re open.

I love this place I would recommend it to anyone! The staff has all been friendly and outgoing. The owner is there every time I go and he already knows my name and what I want. He answers any question I have and is extremely knowledgable about everything. The place is so clean and whenever you go in a room it looks like no one has ever used that room before. I moved a little further away and there are plenty of tanning salons closer to me, and even one in my gym but I refuse to go to them. I just stop by on my way to work and have 12 minutes to myself to relax before the chaos of life takes over for the day!

The owner is always there and happy to answer questions. Be sure to ask for the cruelty-​free tanning lotion — he added it to his store after my first visit when I told him about my concerns with using only animal-​friendly product! Even if you choose not to buy it, please thank him for having it available. A+ for listening to customer needs.

I read below a complaint about a start up fee. That’s only if you buy a membership. This is very standard for tanning salons that don’t require you to do a year contract. It’s saving their company for you using their equipment unlimited, yet maybe not devoting your loyalty for a year like some salons do. I have had multiple tanning memberships before (in multiple states), and the only time I wasn’t required to pay a start up fee is when I was bound in a mandatory 1 year contract and couldn’t break it.
I used to work at the Darque Tan in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. After they got bought out by Palm Beach Tan, I worked there for awhile too. Both companies had start up fees for new members. (Palm Beach Tan’s start up fee was pricier, Darque Tan’s was the exact same.)
I would counter the argument from the dual perspective of a customer and a previous employee from the inside of tanning industry, Tanlines actually has a great business model. They let you freeze your account whenever you want. (Most memberships only let you freeze your account for 1 month or 2), and you can cancel your account anytime after the first billing cycle. If you have any extenuating circumstances they’re pretty open and lenient.
So often these days credit and debit card numbers get compromised and the bank reorders you a new one. For anyone who’s on an autopay membership at a gym, spa, salon, anything then you know how frustrating it can be when your payment doesn’t go through due to not updating your credit card. Even though you’re always supposed to be charged a late fee for the late payment, they waived it joking saying that it happened to a lot of other people too during the holidays. (High fraud at the end of year). Someone wrote below that her lack of payment for the same situation went to collections. This can only happen if you fail to pay multiple months at a time. Also legally they can’t cancel your membership until the third party or you has finalized payments. Otherwise you get away with a free membership. Again, they are the least sneaky when it comes to fees. If I had ever waived a late fee at the salons I worked at, I would have been fired. (The advantage of the owner actually working and being present!)
Having worked at salons (Palm Beach mainly) that drives you to push sales so much and creates most of your paycheck off of commission, I will say that usually tanning salon employees are super pushy. This is not the case at Tanlines. They are very friendly and genuine. Will only talk about product if you seem genuinely interested about something.
I also read someone else’s Unilocal complaint about a wait time below and that rarely happens. I would like to commend actually how efficient they are. You go to any walk-​in (no appointment) tanning salon in Beverly Hills that charges twice the amount for the same beds or spray booths, and the wait time is way worse.
Overall great employees. Super clean. Not pushy. Rarely a wait time. Very affordable. Very reasonable. Not commission hungry employees. Open 7 days a week.
Equipment: All levels of beds: UVA, UVB, UVA/​B — 20 min, 12 min, 10 min… Stand up, leg tanner; Versa Spray.
AND A PARKING LOT.

Simply put: The cleanest, highest quality, most professionally run tanning salon in Burbank and the entire San Fernando Valley for that matter.
A superb selection of beds, packages and tanning supplies. Something for everyone and every budget.
We’ve been coming here for over 2 years now and cannot say enough positive things about the ownership, the friendly staff, and their commitment to providing a perfect tanning experience… EVERY TIME!

So many reasons why this place deserves five stars…
First of all, the owner is super knowledgable, so if you’re a beginner this is the place for you. They have a bunch of different beds and packages and lotions for you to choose from. The staff remembers my name, which I think is outstanding customer service! There is never wait and I have never had to fight for parking!

Some time ago I bought a promotional package they were offering for Spraytan.
Now fast forward 3 years and my cousin is getting married and I wanted to do spray tanning… by chance I checked my email and saw an email from Tan Lines, I called right away to see if my package was still available. At first Dan said it wasnt because the 2^nd spray tan would’ve expired 6 months after my 1^st spray tan. I explained to him how I never did the spray tans I just used the bed once before life got in the way and I was to busy to go, without a single hesitation he told me he would honor the package I had bought back in 2012. This is what I call GREAT customer service. He could’ve totally lied and made up some excuse to get more money out of me, but instead he was very sweet and gave me step by step instructions on how to be prepared for my spray tan tomorrow. I hope I don’t end up looking like an orange :)

Came in here and they told me I had to come back with a debit card to pay for a membership ok kind of a hassle that you are not willing to work with me when I have cash on me. Anyhow came back on Tuesday afternoon at 5 pm to sign up and get tanned, walked up and found a note by the door saying CLOSED early… for what? Why? Talk about bad business, I will be taking myself elsewhere now thank you! Total Inconvenience!

I love this place! I was getting ready to vacation in Hawaii and I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t shock any other beach goers with my pale skin as well as make sure I didn’t wind up indoors the whole time after a bad sunburn at the beach.
The team at Tan Lines was incredibly helpful in helping me choose the tanning package that would be the most beneficial to me and help me achieve the results I wanted. It was well within the price range that I anticipated AND my results totally lived up to my expectations.
I will most definitely be back for my future tanning needs :)
(And PS– I had a great vacation and looked like a little bronzed beach babe with ZERO sunburns! Yes!!)

The owners need a severe reality check. They think their rinky-​dink tanning salon (which looks horrid from the inside and out) is comparable to the warehouse giant Costco. I walked in today for my second time and experienced the same atmosphere as the first time. I wanted to check out their facilities but their beds were either not cleaned or were in use. Who wants to wait for a bed? The places I am used to going to have 20+ beds and don’t require a wait.
They are ripping each and every one of you off from the start with their bull crap «start up fee» When I ask why the heck they charge a patron to do business with them on top of the monthly fee, their response is «You pay a membership fee for Costco, don’t you?» and then the equally asinine «Everyone in the area charges a start up fee.»
You are not Costco, and even though you are not directly saying you «are» Costco, you are comparing yourself to a massively successful wholesaler who PAYS ME to shop there. When you spend over $ 40k a year at Costco, a $ 50-​$ 100 membership fee is paid for within a month! Do you plan to pay your members to tan at your establishment? No? Didn’t think so! Stop using this comparison because you sound like idiots to anyone with intelligence.
Your second excuse is even dumber! I don’t care what everyone else is doing. This goes back to childhood logic… Do you remember your grade school teacher or just about any adult saying «So if your friend jumped off a bridge would you do it too?» Give me a break! I’m standing in front of YOU not your competition! Even the girl at the front desk was at a complete loss of words when I asked why there were unnecessary fees to do business.
I’ve been tanning for over 10 years and I have never had such terrible, rude, and strict service at a tanning salon. Tanning is a luxury not a necessity, get with the program! I don’t need to tan, therefore it should be warm and inviting and personable. You should want to do business with everyone, not make them feel like you are doing them a favor. My father owns his own business and has for over 40 years and makes bank. I work with huge companies and business owners daily. If you ask me, these dudes do not know how to conduct business or carry themselves with the public. Get a new business because your structure is LAME!

love me some Tan Lines :) they turn me from looking like a ghost to looking like I got the best summer tan in less then 30min. Im not a member but I do go there periodically when I have events to attend for a quick 10 min bed session and a spray tan. :)

I love this place! Years ago I tanned at the Hollywood Tans in Pasadena because they had the stand up tanning booths. I have since moved and was looking for a new place that had tanning booths (I prefer booths over beds). I’m glad I found Tan Lines, the owner is great, very professional and knowledgeable. Everything is clean, I never have to wait, the bulbs are changed regularly and I get great results. They even have a leg tanner which I have yet to try. Highly recommend!

I have been going to this salon since 2010 and I like it a lot. It’s clean, easy parking and the staff treat me like a VIP. I only want to go where people know my name and they’re always glad I came!
If ever any of the bulbs are out (rarely), I tell the owner and he replaces them right away. Some salons take frickin’ forever because the employees aren’t handy.
Good place to go!

Best beds ever! I always get the deepest long lasting tan from their beds… I rather pay more & drive far to go to them. they are super clean & best bulbs & high end beds. love there product selection from designer skin. always greeted by happy employee & treated like gold till the second I leave

I really like this salon.
The prices are reasonable, and it is very clean. I’ve hardly ever had to wait for a tanning bed.
I’ve been to a few other tanning salons in town and the prices here, even with the start up fee are cheaper than them. And the workers are all very friendly. I’m not totally sure why people on here are dissing on the owner, all the rules for cancellation are laid out when you sign up, its not like he’s intentionally trying to give people fees.

I never even write Unilocal reviews, but I love this place so much I just have to tell everyone! The beds are nice and well maintained, I never have to wait, it’s clean, affordable, etc. The staff is so knowledgeable– they genuinely care. They’re not trashy and seem like they hate their jobs (like so many employees at other tanning salons)…

This place may look a little odd on the outside but the inside is super nice. Very clean and smells good. Great deals too. The owner Dan is very nice and everyone there remembers your name and says hi when you walk in.
Great spray tan and regular tanning I recommend the matrix, makes me tan for days.

Best spray on tan place! I’ve tried the spray on tan and the Versa Spa is much better that they have! No spotty streaks and blotches! Very clean too and your fist time you get a special rate!
