Step Ahead Physical Therapy

Step Ahead is an excellent place to go for physical therapy, as I did after severely breaking my wrist and needing surgery, plates, and pins. The staff is professional, courteous, kind, and attentive, and I never had to wait an excessive amount of time to see my therapist, Eric. My fear was that I would be in pain throughout my physical therapy and this was absolutely not the case. I had steady progress and have regained function from complete immobility. Everything was explained as it was being done, and I felt comfortable to ask questions about my treatment. I found this location through Unilocal,so I thought I’d pay it forward and recommend!

Hard to find parking. Less than professional staff and owner. So glad we found Vargo Physical Therapy. Great free parking in lot w/​BAC and knowledgeable professional and kind staff at Vargo PT over on Victory. When you are injured you need nice people on your team, definitely not this place.

Great people!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and are really helping me heal from calcific tendonitis shoulder surgery, which was more painful than giving birth!!! GREAT JOB!

This is a great place to go if you need PT. Both my wife and I went at different times for different pain issues and left much improved.
The business is very well organized in every possible way. The facility is very clean and tidy, the trainers are friendly and extremely attentive, and the scheduling/​billing is run like a well oiled machine. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if I needed more PT.

I tore my ACL in late September and basically started PT a week after that (after MRI and doctor visits) in preparation for my surgery. I am NEARLY done with PT nearly 11 months later (1 week left?) and everyone here has been great. I was originally seeing Eric but due to my crazy schedule switched to Carlos. My recovery has gone smoothly. They always ask me how I’m doing, listen to my concerns, push me to strengthen, heal and improve my range of motion but also were very conscious of the limitations when you’re only X amount of months out of surgery. I never had any set backs and I pretty consistently saw improvements from week to week. It’s been a long journey but I am grateful for the great care I got here.

These guys are great; thorough, friendly and very helpful. I’ve been to them a couple times and have been happy with the results.

Eric and his entire staff are great! I had shoulder surgery in February and have been getting PT at Step Ahead since. Their methods to recovery are really effective. I would recommend this facility to Anyone and everyone.

I am very surprised to read good reviews. I sincerely figured he was out of business by now and I would find a bunch of bad reviews. Things must have drastically changed since I went to Eric after knee surgery 3 years ago. In the 6 or 7 weeks, 2 to 3 times a week that I went, only once did he or anyone else actually touch my knee. Not until I started going to another place did I know the physical therapist is suppose to massage and manipulate your injured area 10 – 15 minutes each time you go. I had never been to therapy so I didn’t know better.
I now have a fabulous therapist.
Dr. Powell must keep him in business.

Seriously, I’m a unique patient. There aren’t many women drummers, and not many who play and record all styles, including METAL \m/​.
Eric steadily relaxed my fears as he brought my shoulder to what he promised.
He taught me how to keep it solid and educated me on ways I’d been unbalanced by showing me each time I was protecting it as if it was still injured. These things have been invaluable going forward.
With this new 125% shoulder power, my drumming is steadier than ever, and I find I have more choices with patterns. In 7 months I was back in the studio drumming a metal tune with people from Dio and Yngwie.
The friendly, light hearted atmosphere of Step Ahead, the clean well equipped space, no pain parking, nice neighborhood, and loving staff made the effort to heal smooth and easy. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would not want to get hurt again even to hang with Eric! He’ll make ya laugh tho. Great guy. Great place. Epic recovery.

I am on my fourth session now with step ahead and have nothing but fantastic things to say. I was referred by a trustworthy friend to be seen by Eric for my rotator cuff surgery. He really knows his stuff and has made me feel comfortable since the get go. The office staff is super friendly and very professional and wait time is very minimal.

I’ve always felt uncomfortable at Physical Therapy. The team of Eric and kids (and I mean that), are very compassionate, experienced, and hands on. They don’t make you feel like an invalid. I was referred by my Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Christopher Lee, and they’ve done good by me. I’m also not good and keeping up with my appts. However, I never miss I see actual improvement. Thank you so much, Eric!!!

Love these guys. Just the right mix of friendly and professional, flexible service, nothing but good things to say about this place. Have been to a few other physical therapy places before, these guys are the best.

I went here a year ago and the PT hurt me! I left in more pain. I gave up on PT for a while but now am going elsewhere. Physical Therapy is great if you’re going to the right place. It’s not here. Be careful!

You feel you are in good hands. Eric is good. The instructors are friendly can train you well. I strongly recommend this place for physical therapy. The staffs are professional and friendly.

First thing I noticed when I went in here? Amazing Environment! I am not talking about how it is decorated or what is on the walls etc…
The interaction between Eric Ziegler (the PT) and the patients was incredible. A great place to work out your injuries and WANT to get better.
Anyway I was referred here by a Dr. for shoulder injury from surfing. Apparently the doc didn’t check it out as thoroughly as he should have. I got here, sat down with Eric and within a half hour he told me that I had more of another injury as opposed to the other one I was told I had. He said that my shoulder was strong and that I didn’t need to be at PT, so he was surprised it was even recommended.
Anyway I had a great experience here. I would go back a again (if I needed it) and I would absolutely recommend this place to others. Having been an aide to PT’s and OT’s back in my younger years, I can say this place is really great.

There aren’t enough stars to give to Eric and his staff. I’ve unfortunately been to PTs for over 20 years for back and shoulder problems. Eric is hands down the best I’ve ever been to. You can tell just from listening to him talk to other patients that he knows his business inside and out. Meticulous note-​taking, exceptional assistants, the perfect combo of pushing an aggressive therapy combined with restraint and knowledge of the time it takes to heal, and of course Alma manning the administrative duties with skill and aplomb. I had the choice between a no-​copay therapist through my insurance or a copay situation with the Dr’s choice of PTs. I haven’t regretted a dime of those copays. All in all, an outstanding PT office.
