On my first visit a few years ago, I found Dr. San Gabriel to be very friendly. The office wasn’t modern, but that didn’t bother me. The office itself was cramped, but clean. Even though I had all new fillings put in less than a year before(changed the old silver fillings to the white kind), she insisted that they were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. Being naïve, I just listened to her and had them replaced, at a huge expense(although maybe standard cost for the service). She also told me that I had a few soft enamel spots on some front teeth and insisted that I get fillings on those too. When I questioned why I should get fillings if I didn’t actually have cavities there and I wasn’t feeling any pain, she said it was preventative. So again, naively, I went along. She did this for 3 teeth. The first of those 3 fillings fell out 2 weeks later. I went back to her and had her fix it, free of charge. This time though, it didn’t look good. She put so much filling in it that my tooth was now noticeably larger than the teeth next to it. I didn’t notice at first and left the office. 2 months later, the 2nd of those 3 fillings fell out. I finally went to a new dentist and had him replace it since I no longer trusted Dr. San Gabriel’s work. The«fixed» filling ended up falling out again about 6 months later, and again I had to have it repaired by my new dentist. And finally today, about 2 – 3 years later, that 3rd and final filling of hers fell out. Sure, I could go back to her and have her repair them free of charge, but I don’t trust her anymore. If all 3 fillings fall out, and one of her repairs also falls out, there’s something wrong with the quality of the work. Since it actually chips away at my teeth every time I have to get it repaired, it’s just not worth going back to her and hoping she can actually fix it. The fillings fixed by the new dentist looked better than hers from day 1 and I haven’t had any issues at all. Hers always looks like I had fillings, but the other dentist was able to get them to look very natural.

Nice dentist. Old old old equipment and décor. No disposable toothbrushes in case you want to brush before being seen. Offered to bleach my teeth(no thanks, never even asked.) And in spite of being told my teeth and gums are in perfect condition, still tried to sell me electric toothbrushes,(which they sell there.)
