Reina The Traina

I worked with Reina twice a week and lost about 30 lbs in 3 months. I also learned to do a proper pushup, jump rope on one leg, get a great cardio workout on a normal gym stationary bike, get a torturous workout on a stairmaster … you get the idea.
Reina has a great system of setting 6-​week short term goals and schedules. Her workouts are fast (TABATA-​based) and varied. It took me a week to recover after my intro session but after that I never got uncomfortably sore again. On off days she gives cardio homework. Assignments are intense but don’t take so long that you can’t fit them into your normal day. She also prescribes rest days, which help avoid burn-​out.
Reina additionally offers meal planning services, and wile I didn’t do that, she did give me some tips and guidelines. She aslo had me write down everything I ate and then reviewed that once every couple weeks to correct any missteps.
She is a great inspiration as she is often training for her own goals. She faces her work and your progress with positivity. No yelling here. She certainly will push you to do you best, but if something is off that day (I have an old ankle injury that would act up) she will figure it out and find a way around it that still results in a great workout.
While I am back to working on my own, I enjoy keeping in touch through facebook where she posts updates on her goal progress and funny/​motivational tidbits to keep her clients focused (nothing too cheesy).
I did a fair amount of research before choosing Reina for myself, and I’d gladly recommend her to others.

Reina took over training me while I was still rehabilitating after a knee injury. While I had regained muscle mass my body was out of whack. Her approach of working the core has helped me with my joints and overall fitness to the point I don’t need to use my hard leg brace when playing tennis. I’ve been very happy with work.

I recommend working with Reina no matter what your fitness or weight-​loss goal might be. She invests time and effort into each individual client to understand him or her, what motivates and also what frustrates. She knows when to encourage and when to get tough so that you can accomplish what you set out to do – and more. And most important, she’s focused on YOUR goals, YOUR experience, and YOUR SUCCESS.
My goals when I started with her several years ago were simple: To lose weight and gain a little muscle tone. But because of the way Reina structures her programs, I soon became engaged in the workouts themselves, gaining a real sense of accomplishment when I was able to master a new technique or best my own previous performances thanks to newfound strength and coordination. And I’m still with her today as a result.
The best thing about working out with Reina (besides her sense of humor) is that the workouts don’t get stale. I’ve observed too many trainers who apply a one-​size-​fits-​all strategy to their clients, often repeating the same routines over weeks and months rather than presenting new options. But Reina is at the other end of the spectrum. The regular introduction of new programs and even new techniques keeps me interested and motivated at the gym. The time flies by when you’re engaged and absorbed in the activity at hand — and before you know it, the result is a sculpted, fit body.
I lost the weight I intended to – but more than that, I transformed from a clumsy, weak girl into a capable, strong athlete in the process. I continue to work with Reina not because I NEED to, but because I LOVE to. She encourages me to continue developing as an athlete as she presents me with new challenges.
