My general MD referred me to this office. The receptionist is rude. She told me I didn’t qualify for surgery. Put me on hold and said her coordinator said I didn’t qualify. Asked me if I had confirmed with my insurance if I was covered. I told her I had not as I don’t know what to ask. Since the receptionist is practicing medicine, she didn’t book an appointment. If this doctor does surgery like he hires receptionists and coordinators I should count my blessing I never book a consultation.

Great surgeon! I had the laparoscopic RNY and went through the pre surgery workshops. I followed the program and fortunately had the best experience post op from the anesthesiologist to Quilici. Top surgeons and staff in my book.

Well an update to my brother, he passed away from his surgery after getting sepsis shock due to a leakage from his surgery. The worst part is that this Doctor never even bothered to see if he needed home health care after being released from the hospital. Upon his release from the hospital I questioned it as he was having difficulty breathing at that point and yet was released with no follow up care. I would avoid his practice.

I don’t care how great this doctor is! After waiting for my appointment for one hour, they tell me it will be another hour until he sees me? really??? People work!!!
I hate doctors like this — Who overbook and treat people like this. And then they act like they’re doing you a favor.
Honestly, this is very telling… how he cares for people. He doesn’t care…

This doctor is straight to the point and extremely professional. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Another doctor placed my lap band 10 years ago and it broke about 5 years later. I never bothered getting it fixed. When my husband and I decided it was time, I heard wonderful things about this doctor. We worked together for 2 – 3 months determining what the best course of action was for me and I ultimately decided to have my band repaired.
The surgical staff couldnt stop singing his praises while prepping me for surgery. One nurse told me he had just performed electoral surgery on her husband and would be performing surgery on her next month.
If you’re looking for a doctor to hold your hand, keep looking. Dr. Quilici is NOT the doctor for you. Truthfully that is not his job. He had one job and he did it with perfection.
The respect his staff has for him is INCREDIBLE. You can tell he runs that office like a tight ship. They took care of all of my referrals, insurance payments, scheduling, and leave of absence paperwork.

Just spent the last year working with Dr. Quilici’s and his staff to prepare for surgery that I had on 1÷15÷15. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Their office was very helpful in getting me prepared and ready for the procedure. The follow up has been excellent. He’s an incredible surgeon. Does he have the kind of bed side manner as my regular physician? No. But that is not an issue to me. I just felt absolutely confident that he would do the very best by me, and he did. My incisions were tiny, which made me very happy, as they will heal nicely. I was out of the hospital after one night. I have had a smooth recovery and I attribute everything, from the success of the surgery, to the preparation I had to go through to get ready for this very big life change. I believe people come form all over the world to have surgery and/​or have botched surgeries repaired. I would highly recommend Dr. Quilici and the staff at the Bariatric Wellness Center without hesitation. P. S. I’ve NEVER had surgery in my life, so I was NERVOUS, especially since I was a virgin to anesthesia! And it just went better than I ever could have imagined. I was in good hands.

Went here on the recommendation of my internist. This is a low class weight loss mill. The doctor is okay. I had to wait 1 and ½ hours to see the doctor. The staff are rude and either clueless or unwilling to be of assistance. Three times I called the office, and each time waited on hold with no background sound for over 10 minutes never sure if I was actually in a queue. One person picked up the phone and asked me if I was on hold for a specific reason, when I said no, she put me back on hold without saying a word. I wasn’t sure if she had disconnected me or put me back into the «ether». I went to see him to have my lap band removed and needed help with insurance before committing to the procedure. His office is either not equipped or interested in helping prospective patients with problem-​solving. A doctor’s staff is a reflection of the doctor, and in this case I would be afraid to put my life in his hands. I am going elsewhere for my care.

His bedside manner is non existent, but its not his job to make patients feel warm and fuzzy. His job is cut me open, fix whatever is wrong, sew me shut and hopefully extend my life in the process. Well, so far so good. The customer service is really good as well. They made sure that all the paperwork with my insurance company and my regular Dr. were all taken care of. I don’t have any complaints!

I had the Gastric By-​Pass Roux-​en-​Y surgery and found out after that he didn’t do the surgery. His associate did. Dr Quilici didn’t visit me before or after the surgery. When another of his associates came to visit me, I mentioned that I was surprised and disappointed that I hadn’t seen Dr Quillici at all. Another patient was upset as well. A little while later the phone rang and Dr Quillici was on the phone. He explained that he was so busy that he couldn’t come to see me before the surgery and because it was the weekend he needed some time off. They charged me a separate fee ($ 640 for aftercare prior to the surgery). This was out of pocket and over and above the amount allowed by the insurance company. After the surgery the Doctor’s and the office staff’s attitudes changed for the worse. If you are going to have surgery with this Doctor, make sure he is actually doing the surgery. As far as I’m concerned, this Doctor is extremely unethical.

I truly don’t understand the bad reviews. I met Dr. Quilici in 2006 and now, 7 years later, I am still singing his praises. The man is a Godsend. I have had 5 different surgery’s with him and would let him do the 6^th on the floor of his office if I needed to, I trust him with MY LIFE. I don’t want to go into the details of my health however feel free to contact me for specifics. Dr. Tovar has done one of my surgery’s and Dr. McVay assisted in a couple and they are also great. Sure the office is usually packed with clients, but doesn’t that go to show how in demand he is? Dr. Quilici has been voted a Top Doctor many times & has received many awards including the prestigious Bariatric Surgery Excellent award. I personally don’t mind the wait in a nice office with kind staff. My health is of utmost importance to and knowing I get he best care in this office, trust me, Dr. Quilici & staff are worth the wait. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************* *********************

I am a patient of Dr. Quilici. I had Gastric By-​Pass Roux-​en-​Y surgery in February of 2010. I have lost approximately 140 pounds, with no severe Post Operative side effects of any kind. My surgery went great, and everything has been fantastic, including the post op care I’ve received. If you want someone to hold your hand and baby you, he may not be the doctor for you, but if you want one of the best surgeons in the country for weight loss, he’s the guy. Yes, he’s got a super busy practice, you may wait, yes, his office staff may not be the nicest to you everytime you show up. Personally, I don’t really care –I’m healthy and happier than I’ve been in 15 years, so judge for yourself. If you pick the best procedure for you, do what the doctors tell you and the classes teach you, you will be fine. Lap Band surgeries require maintainance fills for the rest of your life, whereas the Roux-​En-​Y surgery is over and done once you heal, and take care of your self properly afterwards.

WhenI first went to the Doctor, it was about three years ago. The office was packed and looked and felt good and comforting. The customer service lately has been AWEFUL! I don’t know if he is grown his practice so much that his staff can’t keep up, or what is going on! I called to get in today for a LAPBAND UN-​FILL because I haven’t eaten in 4 days and they treated me like an annoyance. She told me no one was working on Monday, which I know is B*S. I finally made them call the wellness center, where I usually go to get adjustments and low and behold I got an appointment. The sad thing is, the doctor is really nice, but he is protected like the President and that isn’t cool when it is your health we are talking about.
Search other doctors and their service after surgery before you see Quilici. Instead of going from GOOD TO GREAT he has gone to GREAT TO BAD!!!
