Model in the Making is all about fashion, glamour and FUN! Kids 4+ celebrate their birthdays in Supermodel style! When they arrive, they receive backstage passes, choose 2 looks from our fun costumes and accessories, get their hair and makeup done and even create their own designs in the fashion design room. When everyone has been glamorized, we have a runway show rehearsal, then the big fashion show begins! Kids pop music is pumping and disco balls shining, the fashionistas strut their stuff on the pink runway while the fashion photographer is snapping away. Parents sit around the runway and in the Glamour Lounge and get to watch their little ones dance around and have fun! We have a full photo set with bubbles and props for the mini models so they can truly have the full model experience. Each model gets individual and group photos taken and the photographer encourages them to let loose, be crazy and goofy and let their personalities shine. At Model in the Making, we are perfectionists– so we make sure your party is organized, and everyone gets their turn and has a blast. In addition to fashion parties, we offer one-​on-​one professional model coaching with our pro fashion model coach and the sessions include photography and hair/​makeup. We also use our photo set for portraits, headshots, modeling portfolios, etc. 20 + years of experience in the fashion industry have inspired us to bring out the exciting side of the business and make it accessible and fun for everyone!

History

Established in 2014.

Model in the Making’s owner, Helen, has been a professional model for over 20 years. She has travelled the globe throughout her career, shooting for top photographers and magazines and strutting her stuff for major runway shows in Milan, London, NY and Paris. Still working as a model but calling it quits on the crazy travel schedule, Helen decided to open «Model in the Making»: a super glamorous fashion studio for kids birthday parties and a place to coach, guide and photograph aspiring models and help place them with reputable modeling agencies. Knowing how difficult it can be to start out as a model and the lack of guidance agencies provide, Helen shares her knowledge and experience of the industry. «The popularity of the fashion themed parties is wonderful to experience, as we take the best parts of what it’s like to be a real fashion model and bring it to a level that kids (and parents) can just enjoy. Every party is a REAL party and it’s a joy to see how much fun they all have!»

Helen has been an international fashion model for over 20 years, her career beginning at just 15 years old. Helen has graced many magazine covers, advertisements, catwalks and had much success, however after a decade of traveling, he eventually settled down in Los Angeles. Helen’s love of children and hosting parties cultivated into a dream of opening a venue in which she could take the most fun, glamorous aspects of the modeling business and present them to young kids who love fashion. Model in the Making has become just that. Helen creates a «fashion week» vibe for the kids birthday parties, complete with runway lessons, model programs, wardrobe, hair and makeup and a photo shoot. She encourages kids to break out of their shells and let their personalities and confidence come through– not focusing on ‘looks’. The focus is on FUN and every body, every size, every look, every age– should be able to enjoy the glitz and glam. She also offers guidance and coaching for aspiring models.
