I’ll start by saying it feels weird to review my therapist on Unilocal.However, I’ve had MANY therapists over the years (ok, yeah, so maybe I’m a little screwed up – don’t be judge-​y please!) and Dr. Stevens is by far the best one I’ve had. Hopefully she’ll be my last, and I can stop searching for someone that’s actually smart and ‘gets me,’ and also gets the insanity of the entertainment business. She’s not only smart, she’s kind, compassionate, has a sense of humor, and is sensitive to the cultural differences in my family relationships and (gay) marriage.
I guess I’m compelled to write a review for her because she’s really helped me tremendously, and I’ve experienced a greater sense of growth and stronger sense of self both in my personal and professional life since I started seeing her. If I hadn’t been referred to her by a friend, I don’t know how I would’ve found her, so maybe this review will help other people who are on the challenging quest to find the psychologist who ‘gets them’ — and they can end their search too. Oh, and since I work screwed up entertainment hours I’ve seen her in her Brentwood, Toluca Lake and South Pasadena offices depending on what times I’ve needed to make an appointment. When I was in a bit of a crisis I was really glad that if she didn’t have time on a particular day she could offer me time at a different office.
