Okay, let me tell you this: I’ve never EVER worked out in my life, so I was really worried I would not survive my very first 5 minutes of kickboxing lol I was looking at the Groupon deal (10 classes) but ended up getting 3 classes on their website, because I wasn’t sure if I was going to love kickboxing, and also, Burbank was far for me.
3 classes later, I realize that I’ve been missing out! I particularly enjoyed how everyone is so supportive of each other (it’s really ALL levels there). The class is a mix of stretching, cardio, kickboxing, learning about techniques, etc. Overall, I absolutely loved it!
Don’t forget to bring a towel and water. Because trust me, you’re gonna be sweating RIGHT WHEN THE CLASS STARTS! haha :)
Honestly, if it wasn’t that far, I would’ve totally kept going!

Tuesday was my first time ever, taking any kind of martial arts class. I’m a 57 year old woman, and wasn’t sure if I could even make it through the whole class… and then I met one of the students who was about 10+ years older, and on oxygen as well! She was an inspiration, as well as the rest of the class, they encouraged me that I was doing a great job for my first time! I finished the class feeling stronger, and more confident to come back and do it again on Thursday! I’m so impressed by what I’m learning, I don’t know why I waited so long to start learning!

50 STARS for Master Winkle, his wisdom, positivity, and amazing wife… I learned about this studio on Unilocal and I am beyond glad I actually went in for a class. I waited to see if I’d be sore before I wrote a review because I’ve been an athlete all my life so only a good workout really gets to me… I have to say, I’m just the right amount of sore. I feel like Master Winkle’s class is intentionally tailored not only to make you healthier physically but also emotionally. He shares wisdom and personal stories which make his teachings easier to relate to. The intervals of training are perfectly timed and one of my favorite parts was the music! The music, atmosphere, location, and crowd are so modern. I really wish they had better access to parking but I’ll live!

My son has just obtained his yellow belt and we could be any happier. All the way home he was talking about what it means to him and that he may help other new students. Which is amazing considering that he is a little hard on himself. He loves coming here a lot he will daily as me what time he is going to class. I can truly say that they make us all feel part of their family.

I’m almost hesitant to leave an awesome review because I love these classes so much but the more the merrier! I had tried out other kickboxing places in the area, but none were as welcoming and friendly as Martial Arts World. The instructors and staff are all amazing! I get such a good workout, all while meeting awesome people and making some good friends. Classes are offered throughout the week and consistency is key! I’ve been going for 7 months and time has flown by. As a newbie, I never felt out of place! Talk about a healthier option than happy hour…

I’ve been at Martial Arts World for over 4 years now. And seriously there is no place I’d rather be. My son started when he was 7 years old and he’s about to turn 12 in a few months. When he started he was a shy, quiet kid. Under the guidance of Master Winkle, Chief Instructor Peregoy and the rest of the staff, he has blossomed into a confident young man. Who not only believes in himself but will stand up to bullies for himself or anyone else. Then I started training and changed my life. That’s what happens at MAW. It’s not just about kicking and punching, or cheap classes. You can get that anywhere. This place is about changing lives. It’s about building you up, so you can break your limitations. I challenge anyone to try Martial Arts World and find out what I’ve known for years. IT’S THE BEST MARTIAL ARTS STUDIO IN CA!

Always have a good time and felt amazing every after kickboxing session. Master Winkle is endowed with great character of a good leader and knows how to motivate individual. This is long time overdue. I been coming to MAW for the past 3 years. When I came here for the first time instructor Kate Peregoy was exactly what I was expecting from costumer service acumen.
It was kind of nice to see how all the members were like a big family, it gave me a strong confidence that I made the right decision in enrolling my girl in the program. I must mention that their prices are affordable, they are committed instructors that work with passion therefore when it comes to money they are wiling to work with you.
Master Winkle and instructor Peregoy began to make a change in my daughter’s life, (yep you read right) in her LIFE. She was a very shy girl and had trouble focusing at school. As soon as she start her classes (I must mention she would always ask me to enroll her en «karate» since she was 4 yrs old.) she found her passion ! She developed her real self out and her grades at school improved enormously. Their method is very progressive. The kids really learn the discipline and commitment for any gol in life that they might have. Therefore I can assure you that many successful and talented kids that attend MAW would become great productive adults in our society.
I am talking about my own experience with my daughter, but I also need to mention that many adults attend their classes, thus kids and adults interact showing a great sense of respect and camaraderie. Last but not least the other staff members Instructor Dona Fahey, Instructor Christina and training instructors are a great bonus to the professional level of the classes.

This place was not good at all their prices where just out of this world for only 30 – 40 min a day and only 2 days a week what is that we left and took my son to shoulin on the corner of San Fernando and Alameda next to the tapatio restaurant wow big difference 100 a month for 1:30 hr long and take your kid as many times you want with no contract !

Master Winkle is an amazing master. Martial Arts World of Burbank is one of the best martial art schools in the country. I have seen how he transforms his students into leaders. There is no one more passionate about martial arts and changing peoples lives then master Winkle. I highly recommend you try the school before signing up anywhere else.

My daughter savannah has been with martial arts world for 3 years going on 4 yrs. She just loves going to mudo. She finished one set of belts from the little bulldogs and now she is a blue belt. she is always so happy to go to class. They are so great at helping her when she is having trouble. Thank you to all the instructors for being so kind and caring. I would recommend Martial Arts World to anyone!

The kickboxing class here is terrific! A great workout in a positive, supportive atmosphere.

If you are looking for Martial Arts classes or kickboxing classes then you must check out Martial Art World in Burbank. Master Winkle and his staff are wonderful & work with kids ages 5 and older. I have had such a wonderful experience that I recently enrolled my kindergartener.

I recently joined Martial Arts World of Burbank. I have done martial arts it the past, for several years. The instructors at Martial Arts World of Burbank are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of working out with. The icing on the cake is that the students are equally amazing! The studio is overflowing with POSITIVE energy! I am so glad that I found them.

There are so many choices in LA if you want to do kickboxing. I chose Martial Arts World because its so much more than a place to get a workout. Master Winkle, his wife and the other instructors truly work hard to make this place special. First off, they are all accomplished martial artists. Even more, they are warm and gracious people. Not only do I get a killer workout, I’m talking sweaty shirt and sore muscles every time, but I also leave motivated to achieve more in life. Master Winkle and his staff take the time to address the importance of life fitness and how to develop the best habits for success. Come check this place out, you might be surprised to learn where you had extra fat to lose.

Awesome Kickboxing classes ! Best Workout ! Instructors are professional and spiritual The students are friendly and encouraging. There is always someone encouraging you when you feel like you don’t have one more punch in you. I am still new but feel stronger with each class ! I had been curious about kickboxing for years when I saw the groupon deal for 5 classes for $ 29.99 (including free gloves): how could I ever pass that up?
Signing up for the deal was simple, and I got a call from Instructor Kati about 30 minutes after. She helped me set up my first class and told me about the school itself.
The instructors welcomed me and gave me some helpful tips on how to have a successful first day.
The first class kicked my butt. I was sweating hard but I felt so accomplished. Master Winkle and the other fantastic instructors are so helpful and warm and only want their students to succeed. Not only does Master Winkle give you the best workout imaginable, but he motivates you and gives you meaningful life advice. After 3 classes, I decided I needed a membership. If you find a workout that makes you feel amazing, motivated, and has you looking forward to it, DO IT EVERYDAY.
I’ve been training at Martial Arts World for about 2 weeks now, and I’m devastated that I have to go back to college and part ways in a month. This place has welcomed me and made me feel at home, and I can guarantee that I’ll be back whenever I’m in town.
