Marriott Courtyard Burbank

Close to Universal Studios, plenty of parking since it is inside Burbank Empire Center which is a plaza that has stores like Target & plenty of eating places. Also about 3 miles from Portos Burbank :)

I live just 5 minutes from here. But, I wanted to stay in a hotel with a whirlpool. And omg it was a great decision. I also have a AAA card and I got a discounted rate. Make sure to choose that option on the courtyard marriot website. Their king size bed is also so comfy. I melted right in it. My room also has a sofa bed. The room was also clean and very relaxing. The hotel front desk was so helpful as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very accommodating when we arrived way later than check in (usual check in time is 3 PM or 4 PM I think but we came at 1 AM). At first, they set us up with the wrong room because they got overbooked, but they were quick to relieve the problem!
The room itself was really nice — plenty of room and very comfortable. We also got the chance to use the pool and hot tub! It wasn’t too crowded with families or really large groups, which has usually been the case at other hotels we’ve stayed in.
There was plenty of FREE parking which honestly is a major plus considering so many of the hotels around here charge anywhere from $ 9 — $ 20 for parking. The breakfast isn’t included in a standard room unless you buy a package deal. However, you’re welcome to buy breakfast in their bistro! There’s also plenty of awesome restaurants nearby and a shopping area in walking distance if you’re looking to spend some money.
Wouldn’t mind staying here again!

Stayed here for two nights while checking out the new Harry Potter land at Universal. I thought the hotel and the room was really nice and clean. The staff was very nice and accommodating, even providing us some extra toiletries that we had forgot to pack. I was happy with breakfast, although I don’t really feel like I got a good deal /​saved money by picking the room reservation that included breakfast. I did really enjoy the breakfast area with the booths and tv’s. Overall, great place to stay and not a far drive from Universal.

Second time staying here April 16 for business trip. First stay was in 2014. Hotel needs immediate management attention. Staff is very young and eager – think: how I spent my summer internship. Hotel and staff are merely good-​looking with little character. Very noisy overnight. Many running children and slamming doors. The small café in the hotel lobby is a disaster. Had far better food back in 2014. Now the food choices are bread-​oriented and microwaved until hard as rock. Difficult to eat. You can find a more relaxing stay and better food at other hotels.

Plenty of parking and the rooms were clean, but my wife and I had to move between three different rooms before we found one that was adequate.
The first room had an overpowering odor of cleaning chemicals.
The second room did not have a functional air conditioner.
The third room was fine.
I find it difficult to comprehend how something as simple as renting a room for a night can be so difficult.

MEH. The room was Ok. The walls are not very soundproof so I was awoken at 2:30 by a banging headboard. It only lasted a few minutes so they either got a concussion and stopped or…
I was thinking, what hotels still have headboards that move anymore? This one!
There is a shopping center a block away. Parking is bad, so do yourself a favor and walk.
Not worth the money.

Staff is great. We’ve been staying here for almost 2 months as we are relocated from our Porter Ranch home. So we should know best about the quality of service and staff here. The staff is welcoming, helpful and our housekeeper X is exceptional. We are homesick, I miss our house and privacy but Burbank Airport Marriott has helped alleviate some of that by making us feel welcomed. I would absolutely stay here again.

Typical of the newer remodeled Courtyards, with friendly staff. Soo much nicer than the snotty Marriott down the road that is rude, tired, and too expensive. This is the better choice for your Marriott points in Burbank /​N Hollywood area.
I think I may let them know that the modern print in the bathroom is too creepy — looks like some monster peeking in on you. LOL

Max at the front desk was not helpful when I simply asked for a bottle opener. How does a major corporation like Marriott not have a bottle opener to lend to its patrons? The best he could offer was for me to go down and have someone open one each time I needed it. I explained to Max that I am here to work and I don’t have time to run down status every time I need to open up a bottle for me to drink.
In every other hotel that I’ve stayed in, this is has never been an issue. At least offer to have someone come up and open it for me. They could cash out on tips and I could keep working. But no other option was given to me and the explanation of the Marriott Corporation no longer have bottle openers for patrons on hand (to borrow) didn’t sound right. I had to double check that I was at a Marriott and not a Motel 6.
I have had pleasurable experiences at all Marriotts that I have stayed at except for this one due to Max’ lack of helping me. I am still working while thinking of my sodas from Mexico that are unopened in the fridge.
Note to self: bring a bottle opener next time — if there is one.
LATER I saw a worker walking the hallway for a bottle opener and wouldn’t you know it? He got me one right away. I wish I could give him 5 stars. (And he received a nice tip for being HELPFUL without all the explanations of why Marriott doesn’t give out bottle openers for their guests to borrow.)

FAIL!!! Another roach!!! I thought that the first incident is just a one off. Now I have confirmed that this hotel is infested. I am not getting heard by management and I was not informed that they will be taking any action. I think even though I have Marriot Rewards I am taking my business elsewhere. I would be more patient if their management is even apologetic or would even give you a free breakfast to make you feel better. What did a get — NONE! No apologies even. The only good thing they have is they have an absolutely great customer service front desk staff — Chris and Max. The assistant manager Abby says she never ever received any of my complaints. When I finally talked to her she said that she will be giving me extra points. I did not ever HEAR back from her. I will definitely share my experience with co-​workers. Please please… beware this hotel has ROACHES and if you have a complaint you will be IGNORED. I wish Hilton Garden Inn is closeby — they are the best. I am not searching for a new hotel …

My usual lodging when visiting the mother ship.
It’s close to the airport, and offers free parking.
Shopping and restaurants are in the adjoining mall.
It’s an updated Courtyard, so they have the newer mattresses, large Samsung LCD TVs, and free wifi. The pool is small but functional, and the hot tub has Mach 10 force jets. There’s a fire pit in the back patio as well.
I’ve only had breakfast here, but the food is passable. They have beer, wine and cocktails available as well. Free newspapers in the morning too.
My only complaint — what happened to the free water that used to be in the lobby area?

Good experience, very nice hotel, clean, comfortable, and safe. As for the bad customer service, that I’ve read on here, i can not say anything bad, but out of my whole customer experience in cali i have come to find out that everyone in California hates their job. I picked this hotel because the only bad reviews they had were customer service, i will deal with bad customer service over bed bugs, being in a bad area, a dirty room, or anything else imaginable. These employees were just like all the employees in California. They greeted me everytime i walked by and were very polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel over the rest, will be staying here again.

I’ve stayed here on 2 different occasions and enjoyed my stay both times. I like the location, the free parking and the recent renovations to the property. The lobby is typical of most Courtyard by Marriot properties. It’s modern with plenty, I mean plenty of seating options. They have little chairs & couches by The Bistro to have a meal. They even have little booths with their own DirecTV enabled flat screens so you can enjoy some viewing while having a meal. Speaking of The Bistro, I like that Courtyards have them as I can get a real meal on site and not have to drive or walk anywhere if I choose not to. I usually get the bistro burger with bacon & cheese and have never been disappointed. The bread is great, the patty is tasty, bacon is smoky and the melted american cheese is perfect. I get mine without the bistro sauce which is essentially 1000 island dressing. The fries that it comes with are extra crispy and I love that…
Ok. Back to the hotel experience… Both times I’ve stayed, the front desk/​registration staff have always been very accommodating. I always ask for a room on one of the higher floors and towards the end of the hallway. And even though this Courtyard is only 4 floors, they’ve been nice enough to put me on the 4^th floor and very far away from the elevator… I want peace and I want quiet. If anyone’s gonna be noisy, it’s gonna be me! Hahah… That’s not gonna happen. I’m not like that.
The rooms are nicely decorated. A lot of grey tones which I like. The first thing I noticed was the 42″ Samsung SmarTV flat screens in the room (s). I’ve never seen a modern TV that big in any single room suite that I’ve stayed in. Not even in all my stays in Vegas. I though it was awesome… The TV is great. The bed is super comfortable. I’ve always booked a king bed and the cali king bed is super comf as it is spacious. They really did it right. I like the desk with the modern ergonomic chair. I also like the couch or chair that has a small table that can be used to place your food on while you eat from there. All positives in my book. The only thing I would change is to have more closet space and to get rid of the accordion-​like opening of the mirrored closet door. The bathroom is spacious and has enough counter space to host 2 toiletry bags with room to spare. Coffee machine is complimentary. There is a small fridge. They should have a separate receptacle for recyclables… Another small thing I like is that the ironing board is super padded. So nice because there is nothing worse than ironing on metal and your clothes are indented with the holes of the ironing board.
I recommend the Marriott Courtyard Burbank… I’m a Marriott Rewards member and this one was one of the better Courtyards I’ve stayed at… Cant forget the small market section you can buy snacks/​drinks by registration when The Bistro has closed. Starbucks coffee is also served at The Bistro as well as alcohol (beer/​wine/​mixed drinks)… There is a pool, jacuzzi and fire place in the courtyard. Lots of palm trees. So Southern California…

Ok, this is a 3.5 star for me. Negatives: no free breakfast anymore, ice machine on my floor was broken, and every time I got on the elevator I wasn’t quite sure if it was going to make it (creeeeeek, POP, moooooooan)… Positives: very helpful staff, freshly renovated, and on-​site laundry.
The negatives seem pretty self explanatory so here’s the skinny on the Positives. All of the floors still smelled of new paint and furniture. Bed was super comfy and about half of the TV channels were in HD. I had been on the road for a little over a week so I decided to do laundry before flying out after my single night stay. Guess what else?!? Free detergent and dryer sheets! Score!
For the price I would go for a cheaper option and stay at the Radisson right behind. It was also recently reno’d and $ 100 cheaper a night when I booked. There are a ton of restaurants close to eat at and shopping. All chains but decent options.

Disappointing. Remodeled the building but not the staff. Twenty minutes for Bkfst in an empty dining room at 6:15. Trash outside and on sleeping floor. Nice fire pit and courtyard but don’t even THINK of enjoying an evening cigar. That you can only do standing up in a dirty smoking zone unsheltered and strewn w trash.
Front desk staff at night were cool. But when I took time to email the GM and send her pics all I got was a boilerplate reply.
I’m Marriott Gold and will take my biz elsewhere.

Loved this hotel! We were looking for a place to stay in LA last week that was comfortable, accessible to everything, and didn’t break the bank. This was a winner on all fronts. My husband and I appreciated the good sized room, giant flat screen tv, balcony with the pool view and great customer service. Definitely ask for one of the newer rooms on the upper floors. If you’re looking for a place to stay in LA, look no further. This newly renovated hotel has got all the amenities you need! *Breakfast isn’t included, but I believe it’s $ 9.99 for the buffet per person. We ate out instead though given the plethora of brunch options in LA.

This Marriott was still remodeling during my recent visit. I was disappointed with the service and with my room, but when I checked out, I did speak with a helpful, friendly staff member who credited my account for 1 night, which I thought was fair. See my review below about the problems I encountered.
Unpleasant experience upon checking in!)-; I wanted a relaxing stay and NOT a fire drill. Upon checking in I got a quiet room on the 4^th floor as requested. But the female staff member said it’s a handicapped room without a bathtub. I didn’t want a handicapped room, but that’s what was available. My pregnant daughter and I dragged my luggage up to the room, but I didn’t like the shower head, as it wasn’t installed properly, and it was impossible to aim it at a reasonable angle. Yes, I always check the shower when I enter a room. The bathroom did have a bathtub, but the shower head wasn’t installed properly.
So I had to return to the front desk to get a new room, dragging my luggage down again. I was assigned a new room, and the lady at the front desk assured me it was a quiet room. I waited in the lobby as she said someone would help me with my luggage, but nobody came, so I dragged my luggage back up again! I was accompanied by my pregnant daughter, and I speak with a great deal of experience when I say that if your luggage has 4 wheels, it will NOT be easy to maneuver on the carpeted hallways of this Marriott. When I found my new room, it wasn’t a quiet room, as it was right next to housekeeping.)-;
I called the front desk, and the female staff member said someone would meet me at the original room and we could exchange key cards. But on my way to the elevator, the FIRE ALARM went off and the doors closed locking the elevator! 0-​: I had to drag my luggage down 3 flights of stairs to exit the building. I was worried that my pregnant daughter was trapped in the elevator, as she had gone on ahead of me. I was alarmed. I should also mention that my doc told me I shouldn’t be handling my own luggage, as it’s not good for my shoulder, and here I was bumping down 3 flights of stairs with my luggage.
But when I walked outside and around to the lobby the staff said they were testing the fire alarm! I explained what I went through but they didn’t seem to care. There was a female and a male staff member at the front desk. The woman seemed bewildered, and the man seemed hostile. Neither offered any apology nor any help. I still had my luggage, and since the fire alarm was still acting up, I couldn’t get to my room anyway.
Since the fire alarm was going off and on and I couldn’t get back up to my room, I took my luggage out to the car with me. I had to wait til after dinner to get my son-​in-​law to help me get the luggage to my room.
In my room on the 4^th floor, the AC smelled musty and only had 1 fan speed, which was too high. Therefore I had to keep the AC on 72 degrees, to prevent it from blasting away. The room was a little stuffy at night, and the windows don’t open, of course.
They gave me a handicapped room, and the shower head wasn’t installed properly, so the water sprays off at an odd angle no matter what you do.
The train is loud even at 1:30am, so it disturbed my sleep, which is annoying when you have to get up early. Loud guests were down at the firepit by the pool on Saturday night, past 11:00. Even though my room was on the 4^th floor, the windows clearly aren’t soundproof at all.
I didn’t like my recent experience at this Marriott, although my 1^st visit a while ago was better. I’m a Silver Elite Marriott member, and I normally count on Marriott properties to be reliable. When this Marriott is finished with their remodel, maybe I will give them another chance. I was going to make this a 2-​star review, but a sympathetic woman at the front desk upon check-​out did credit my account for 1 night, and that does help.

This is definitely a decent hotel, and clean, and a fine place to stay. It’s a fine example of a Marriott Courtyard. As for the rating, It’s hard for me to say «yea, i’m a fan» of this courtyard or any other, but it’s certainly «a-​ok», which equates to 3 stars. Seems a little better than 3 stars but if I’m not a «fan», then it’s not 4 stars. If I was just rating this courtyard against all other courtyards, I would call it a four. But against all hotels of all brands, I suppose 3 is about right.
This courtyard was just remodeled at the beginning of 2015 so everything is nice and fresh. I really like the landscaping and trees inside the courtyard of this Courtyard. From that standpoint, this could be my favorite courtyard.
Here are my complaints: in some of the rooms, and I’ve stayed in many of them, the ironing board pads are wrinkled and lumpy. That makes for hard ironing. Another complaint is that it takes a long time to get warm water if you’re at the end of the fourth floor, and wherever you are you can’t get hot water out of the sink. I’m sure that’s to protect people from being scalded but it really could stand to be hotter. Finally, I heard repeat guest checking in before me who asked to stay away from certain areas of the top floor because of the sound of some fans on the roof. I don’t think I noticed that sound before I heard him say that, but I did notice it that stay. Some people like back ground noise and it might work for them. I didn’t care for it. During my next stay I avoided the 4^th floor and was glad.

Located conveniently to Burbank airport the hotel is also adjacent to a big area of shops and restaurants. Great and safe location.
They are refurbishing the rooms with new carpet and bigger TVs and a lot of staff to keep it clean.
Typical Marriott in that you can expect large lobby with lots of computers to use and very friendly staff but like most Courtyards no room service.
Bring your bathing suit as they have a nice hot tub!
