We carry hair and skin care products, make-​up, aromatherapy, essential oils and soy candles by Aveda as well as inspirational gifts and jewelry.

History

Established in 1988.

Owner/​Operator Kathy Burroughs opened the doors of Mane Teasers in 1988, and has since created a life affirming salon that offers hair care and styling along with the exclusive use of aromatherapy, plant and flower essences by Aveda.

A great local secret in Burbank, this lovely salon is a little oasis on Glenoaks. Brenda colors my hair and always does such a fantastic job. She also goes out of her way to fit me in at short notice and is so flexible. I’m so glad I found this place and will keep coming back.

My mother in law goes here and recommended I get my hair done here as well and I can’t stop coming now. Brenda is so amazing I love what she does every time. Im a hairstylist and kinda picky but i have no complaints ever. Great salon and I enjoy my time here.

Kathy is Wonderful!
In a huge metro city like LA, you can have your pick of hair dressers, but if you decide to go to Mane Teasers, you won’t be disappointed. Kathy will listen to exactly what it is you want and what you’re looking for. But she will also give you her expert opinion if it helps make your decision. She’s been doing this for a very long time and can be very helpful. Kathy’s also incredibly entertaining while you’re sitting in your chair getting your new DO. Of all the salons in LA, this is the one I keep going back to… it will turn into your home away from home.

Kathy is an amazing woman! She is so compassionate and loving and makes the entire experience of getting your hair done an indulgence. Her salon is beautifully decorated and the ambience is inviting and very comfortable. She offers Aveda products in her salon and she is very passionate about health and sharing her knowledge. Her expertise as a hairdresser is unsurpassed when it comes to choosing what will work for you or if you have the look you desire in mind, she can create it for you! Kathy is a true find in this chaotic world and if you want to go to the best, you will visit Mane Teasers!

Kathy has done my hair since the mid ’80’s. Lengths from mid back to a super short style with a bout of chemo in between. I have tough hair to deal with. Curly, frizzy with a mind of it’s own. She does a fantastic job, is accommodating as she can be in every way. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Brenda is pretty great, too.

I’m SO reluctant to write a review because I want Kathy all to myself! She is amazing. I’ve been to her twice now. I have the type of hair that is impossible to manage. There is lots of it and it just kind of does what it wants.
She has cut, done highlights and styled my hair. She gives me her opinions of what I should do with it and at the same time listens to what I want really well.
I love the environment there, the Aveda products, the way it smell and Kathy I love ya girl!

I have been a client of Kathy’s for over 10 years. I now live 300 miles away in Mammoth, CA, but I travel every six weeks to have Kathy do my color and cut. She’s the absolute best! I trust her judgment completely about the style and color. She recommends what I should be doing to keep my hair healthy and in good conditon. The Aveda products, both for hair and skin, are all natural and feel wonderful.
If you want great service in a soothing and professional environment, go to Kathy’s salon. She will work miracles for you.

I’m very picky when it comes to who cuts my hair. My mom owned a hair salon and I’ve only had three people cut my hair on a consistent basis during my life. 1) My mother from 1976 to 2001, 2) Jennifer who cut my hair in Indiana from 2001 to mid 2005, from mid 2005 until mid 2006 I was in hair cut purgatory going to different people every month and then I was recommended to Kathy.
Kathy does a great job and aims to please. She gives me several ideas for my hair and always lets me try different products. Her salon is always very clean and a nice touch is that she decorates for EVERY holiday. Parking is easy and if you show up early there is really good selection of magazines. I highly recommend Mane Teasers to anyone in the Burbank/​Glendale area.
