The Kids’ Community Dental Clinic is a non-​profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, quality dental care for children of low income, uninsured families in an environment that is conducive to treatment, prevention and education.

Kids’ Community Dental Clinic (KCDC) is a child-​friendly community clinic where volunteer dentists provide quality comprehensive low cost dental treatments for low income, uninsured children who do not qualify for MediCal.

All children whose families meet the requirements for service receive quality dental treatment at Kids’ Community Dental Clinic (KCDC). KCDC will provide education to the parents and children so that they will have the knowledge to know how to have strong healthy teeth for a lifetime.

History

Established in 2001.

KCDC operations include: 1) School Visits: volunteer dentists and hygienists travel to local schools to provide free examinations and fluoride treatments. (2)Clinic Program: volunteer dentists provide a full range of dental services: cavity filling, cleanings, root canals, extractions, etc. (3)Parenting Classes: a Dental Assistant or Hygienist travels to give parents tips on preventing cavities by keeping their child’s teeth clean. (4)Training Hygienists: a KCDC staff provides instruction and practical experience to dental hygiene students from local colleges. (5)Public Outreach Program: dental professionals travel to public health fairs to provide free screenings and preventative Oral Health education. KCDC goes to schools and health fairs to provide easy access to dentistry for families who cannot afford care. KCDC has no geographic restrictions and welcomes families who need dental treatments. In 2011, KCDC provided dentistry for 7,029 children providing $ 840,000 worth of treatments.

Meet the Manager

Dale G.

Manager

Dale Morimizu Gorman, a native of Los Angeles, is a graduate of Pepperdine University, Malibu where she received her BA in Communications. She began her career managing contract employees before joining H. F. Ahmanson (parent company of Home Savings of America) where she spent 15 years as VP, Human Resources. Her experience spans 25 years in financial services and entertainment, primarily in the management of talent acquisition.

Mrs. Gorman currently serves as the Executive Director of the Kids’ Community Dental Clinic in Burbank providing low cost dental care with volunteer dentists. Since 2008, Mrs. Gorman has overseen every aspect of the organization including managing over 90 volunteers. She served as 2006 – 2007 President of the National Charity League, Burbank Chapter and continues her participation today. She and husband, Mike have 2 children who enjoy traveling by small planes, music, art, eclectic cooking and community service.
