John’s Pro Tree Service Inc

I was originally trying to put in a 1,940 word version of this review, but Unilocal says it is too large so here is the short version.
I would like to share my experience with John’s Pro Tree Service. This review is very long but detailed and informative as I want to present my experience and opinion on the company as a whole, so buckle up and read a real review.
On April 8^th of 2016, I contacted several tree companies to come out to give a quote on 5 trees I wanted removed. I left a voicemail with John’s Pro Tree Service and an email. The email was replied to on the same day I wrote it. They said they could come out and give an estimate but never gave a date nor a time. They showed up on a Saturday afternoon unannounced (I was actually getting ready to leave for the store.) The person that came out to give the estimate was very rough around the edges, asked me what the price range of quotes I received so far were and proceeded to go $ 50 higher than my lowest bid, but only if I signed the contract then and there. I told him that is not how I do business and wanted to do further research on their company. In the end I decided to go with a different tree removal company due to the fact they had better online reviews and kept in contact with me.
Fast Forward to May and my wife and I decided we wanted one more large tree removed. We decided to quote out two companies. John’s Pro Tree Service and the company we used before. I called (left voice mail) and emailed John on May 16^th. I didn’t receive a call back and once again they just showed up unannounced at my door on that same day. John’s Pro Tree Service’s price came back at $ 400 less than the other company. I explained to him that we were having our entire backyard graded and then new sod put in come Mid-​June. He ensured me he would be out in the next day or two to remove the tree, handle calling Comcast to get my line moved as it was in the way of some of the roots that the current line would need to be moved and he can have this done in time no problem. I decided to give them a shot and agreed to the pricing then and there as it was only 1 tree and didn’t think the negative reviews of the lack of communication and clean up would be an issue. Boy was I wrong!!!
The tree was removed as promised on either May 17^th or 18^th. Once I got home I inspected the tree removal and the tree itself was taken down and cleaned up with minor debris left in the back. However, upon further inspection I noticed they damaged my lawn in the front loading/​unloading equipment. My Mother In-​Law who was home at the time explained to me they backed up into the driveway on an angle and unloaded the wood chipper machine onto my lawn. Not only did they leave a good amount of debris in my front lawn they put a good 3 inch indentation in my lawn roughly 8−10ft in length (I will try to upload the pictures to each site I leave the review on.) I did not contact them regarding this as I figured they came out quickly and maybe they would repair it when they came to finish removing the stump. Fast forward to June 1^st as the stump was still in place and I have not heard anything. I emailed John on June 1^st asking if he heard back from Comcast and AT&T in regards to the lines needed to be moved. He replied back on June 7^th stating he needed my Comcast account number as Comcast was being ridiculous about doing this for them. I did not feel comfortable giving out my account number, so I called Comcast myself on June 8^th and had them out there the morning of June 10^th to decommission the old line and install a new one. I informed John of this and he said that was the only service that needed to be moved. After a few back and forth emails with John I informed him the line was being moved between 10am and 12pm on ⁶⁄₁₀. He then stated they would either be out Saturday or Monday to grind out the stump/​roots.
Long story short, they didn’t grind the stump/​roots down to at least grade/​ground level. They left behind all the mulch and promised to come back out (including us paying for additional grinding work) and never came back out. They stood us up. I have the entire review I wanted to post saved if anyone wants the rest of the details on how they went about their business and treated us.
I cannot nor will I ever recommend John’s Pro Tree Service.

Run away, run far and fast.
Heed my (and other’s) warnings! They would get zero stars if Unilocal would let me, but the lowest rating I can leave is 1 star. If you are in the mood to be verbally assaulted via telephone and called a liar, then by all means call them. There are several other options in the area, call the others first (unless you are a masochist)… They obviously don’t know that Unilocal exists, otherwise they would not treat their customers so horribly. Word CAN get out!

Owner is racist. He actually told me on the phone «I don’t care if the f***ing ni**er in the White House…» Wow! The job was done while I was at work. No call prior to them coming out. The owner said «Listen honey, I don’t have f***ing time to be calling people to tell them we’re coming out.» I would have liked to have known because I have a dog.
I asked for a copy of the bill and the owner and another worker Roy were threatening me like I wasn’t going to pay. According to my neighbors, they came around several times when I was at work but never left the bill. The bill could have been easily left on my door but they made this a huge ordeal about collecting payment. The use of profanity was unreal by the owner. He spoke like a drunken sailor. I will never refer anyone to this unprofessional company. My front yard is also ripped up from their equipment.
DO NOT CALL THEM!!!

My neighbor had this outfit remove two semi large trees from their back yard, in removing these trees it was necessary to cut, trim & grind the two stumps. In doing so they created
a lot of saw dust which then blew all over my property and my three cleanly washed vehicles.
Upon see this I called this company to request they blow off the dust from our vehicles since they created clouds of dust in blowing their waste away. I spoke with the owner John himself and what did I receive? Nothing but excuses, what did I expect to happen which then turned into a conversation laced with profanity. My wife tried calling him and received the same treatment. Totally unprofessional person, claimed his equipment was worth twice my POS
home. Obviously this guy has never learned how to talk to people. So if you want to be cursed at, treated rudely and in a crude fashion call this business, otherwise look elsewhere there are plenty of tree service businesses in the area that I’m sure are far, far more professional.

Hats off to John’s Pro Tree Service for making our backyard safe again. We had a severely overgrown messy Chinese Elm in need of heavy trimming. John came and gave me the quote on Wednesday and the job was completed Saturday at $ 600 less than competitors quote. Crew was efficient and professional & cleaned up like they were never here. Very pleased.

Yikes! wish I read the reviews before I called them. My mother called twice and asked them to please call her cell phone before they came to the home as the doorbell does not work, my father is hard of hearing and they do not move quickly to the door. I called a third time. Each time we were told they would be there the next day. They never show up, so I called this morning asking why they don’t show up. His response is no one answers the door. I remind him that he needs to call the cell phone first and he states he gets so many calls and is too busy. I suggest that maybe he doesn’t understand he is working with an elderly couple and he says he doesn’t care find some one else. I suggest you look elsewhere!

John’s Tree Removal Service was awesome… The showed up as planned, on time and worked quickly to remove the trees and branches. I ran out for 30 minutes and our huge pine tree was gone and already though the wood chipper… And the stump was ground out! They cleaned up everything before they left… And we didn’t have any damage! They were great to work with, friendly and definitely would recommend using them again. thanks John!

Buyer BEWARE! Johns pro tree service damaged my property and my neighbors and then would not claim responsibility. Also, they left garbage on my lawn. Do not use this service. This is why their prices are lower. Not worth it. My guess is the owner wrote the positive review himself.

This place does tremendous work at very competitive prices!
We had some storm damage on our property and all of our estimates were very high… John beat them by an easy 20% and was able to schedule and complete the work in a timely manner… no leftover debris, no damage, no complaints!!!
