Haio Kong Acupuncture & Herb

So I have decided to write an update…
I’m still a patient of Dr Kong and very happy to be one. She has been helping me out considerably with my back pain since 2013 and with other ailments since. She sends me a birthday card every year (hand written still) and does not seemed bothered whenever my daughter tags along with me to any of the visits (she is currently 8 years old; even engages her in conversations at time). This is one woman who really cares for her patients!
Yesterday (01/​08/​2016), I had been delayed to my appointment with Dr Kong and she had called to remind me (most doctors in the past would fuss at me for being late; she just wanted to make sure I remembered, was still coming, and that everything was ok). I’m so glad that she did because after my session with her, I was 10x better than I had been for the last few days (Back story to this: I been sick to the stomach due to a food allergy)! Doctor Kong initially asked me how my back was doing (as she does at the beginning of all of our sessions) and I proceeded to tell her about the stomach issue (I was severely bloated and had a swollen belly after 36 – 48 hours of stomach problems). She did some acupuncture and moxibustion this time (she has done this on me before for other ailments, but this was the first time with my belly for this type of ailment). Within minutes, I was feeling relaxed and falling asleep. At the end of the session, my belly was at half of the swelling that it was when I came in (and as the night progressed, it came down altogether). This woman works wonders!

I just started my sessions with Dr. Kong for just over a month and I gotta say that she has done a wonderful job. I need a hip replacement and my I am undergoing a medication treatment to help make my bones stronger. Dr. Kong makes it easier for me to walk. I usually limp into the office and walk out just fine. This is my first time using acupuncture and Dr. Kong has surpassed any preconceived ideas I had about the practice. Dr. Kong is very welcoming and kind. My friend Dianna has often spoken about how Dr. Kong has helped her, so I thought why not? If you are sitting on the fence about whether or not to try acupuncture, give Dr. Kong call.

I have been receiving treatment from her for the carpal tunnel syndrome on my right wrist and stiffness on my right hand since July and the condition has improved quite a lot.
She has proved herself to be very knowledgeable and skillful. She is a very kind, loving and humorous individual as well. So glad that I found her.

I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Kong for about 1 year now. During this time I have had problems with my right shoulder from a previous sports injury that never healed properly.
Dr. Kong accepts insurance from Kaiser which helps a lot. She is extremely thorough and detailed with prior history. It took me about 30 minutes fill out her forms.
This was my first experience with acupuncture and while I do not like the needle pricks and weird sensations, I must say after 3 – 4 months of treatment, I no longer feel pain in my shoulder. I would say the remaining amount of time spent on treatments was for maintenance and other minor issues that Dr. Kong felt necessary to treat.
I would highly recommend Dr. Kong for acupuncture treatment. She is extremely detail oriented, listens to your problems and is friendly.

My mom and I have been going to Dr. Kong for many years.
She is a miracle-​worker!!!
My husband has been dealing with chronic pain issues and I have been stressed-​out, so we went to see her last night.
My stress melted away and I think my spirit actually left my body (no joke).
My husband’s pain level dropped by 3 degrees.
We are going to start coming here on a regular basis, to continue creating balance in our bodies and our souls!
This is the best place to get acupuncture!
You should totally get on her regimen.

I was dealing with recurring lymphatic issues such as swollen lymph nodes, skin pealing & pimple-​like bumps on my feet for over a year. Within five visits (two weeks) to Dr. Kong my lymphatic issue nearly disappeared. Dr. Kong was also simultaneously treating me for neck, chest & back pain from a recent car accident. Those symptoms also greatly diminished. I have seen Dr. Kong for a few years now, visiting whenever I have any aliments or health concerns. She is very knowledgable and has been able heal any of my physical issues. I have recommended many of my friends and family to her office!

I began seeing Dr. Kong in January after experiencing back muscle spasms and was unable to move. Literally unable to move for a day. I began to research alternative medicine after going to ER and the only remedy offered were injections of Morphin and Citalopram. I declined the injections because they told me I would not be able to breastfeed for four days! Since seeing Dr. Kong I have gone from a 10 pain level to a very comfortable and tolerable 2. Also, The atmosphere is very relaxing and I often fall asleep just laying there and wake up feeling relaxed and with less pain. I look forward to my lunch time appointments with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I love this place. Dr. Kong is extremely thorough during the initial visit and is attentive to your developments each appointment. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Kong helped my son overcome severe pain.
We had seen many doctors including City of Hope and no one could diagnose why he was having pain in his left leg. They finally summed it up to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome #CRPS, which basically means it hurts here and they don’t know why!
He was on crutches for over 5 months and we were despairing that he would live the rest of his life this way. Finally our rheumatologist referred us to Dr. Kong for pain management and we saw her the same day.
After just one session 80% of his pain was gone and he could bear weight on it again!!!
After a month or so of seeing her he was cured and it hasn’t come back in the past 8 months.
I had put acupuncture on the same level as hypnosis, in that it may have some placebo type effects for some people but what could it really do? I am a believer now.
It has recently come back to me how much we owe Dr. Kong for what she did for our family. A friend of mine reached out to me because he had a friend whose daughter was having a similar story as my son had regarding pain that multiple doctors couldn’t diagnose. Well I of course told him that she must see Dr. Kong.
Long story short, after one session the girl could walk again for the first time in 6 months and the mother was in tears of joy.
This is my first Unilocal review of any kind but if you are in pain don’t hesitate to see Dr. Kong. It really works.
What’s the worst that could happen?
All upside no downside, and you could be cured like we were.

I was experiencing tremendous, long term back pain as a result of repetitive lifting in the daily care of my parents. Dr. Kong was the only healthcare professional who gave me relief that lasted. Take note of her credentials: L.Ac., A.M.D., Ph.D. as testament to her qualifications. She is gentle, understanding, and efficient. I would advise anyone to look no further for natural care. Dr. Kong truly deserves all five stars.

This is the best place I had found in burbank. She knows what to do. she listen carefully and tries to help as much as she can. She’s professional and always gets me in on time. My whole family goes with her. I truly recommend her to everyone. The place is clean and calm and is a place to relax. I totally trust her. It has help me tremendously and all areas of pain .she has made my life calm and got me to a point where my whole body is balance.

I went to consult Dr. Kong with the following conditions: migraines, cervical contracture and depression (caused by a recent miscarriage).
I had acupuncture done in my country for an insomnia problem some years ago, so I knew more or less what to expect. To my surprise by the end of the first session my headache was completely gone! She is a true healer! She’s also very kind and compassionate. Session by session I’m feeling better and better, physically and emotionally, she balanced everything with her needles!

After experiencing dizziness, I went to see Dr. Kong. I was so happy to be dizzy– free after the first visit.
Since my first visit, I have been there a few more times and will continue to see her for general well-​being.

Both my son and I have used Dr. Kong and we have both experienced great results. My son is a 12– year-​old soccer player who has come in for a sprained ankle that just wouldn’t heal. It would feel a little better then he would play and be back to square one. After two sessions with Dr. Kong he was pain free and hasn’t felt any pain since. Later he had heel pain. After one session that pain was gone and has not since returned.
As for myself, I use Dr. Kong to help with my general physical well being. I use her once monthly to help with sleeping better and different discomfort that arises. I always leave feeling better than when I went in. Excellent acupuncturist.

Still seeing Dr. Kong. Now for new injury, and the visits are helping so much. She is wonderful and a true healer. She knows what she is doing. She provides care for the total body; and overall well-​being.

Dr Kong has helped me get back to my normal life. I have cervical radiculopathy and sciatica on my lower back and every single day something was hurting. I have a hard time sleeping at night because the pain was always there. I’ve taken painkillers and was willing to try everything and anything to get even just a bit of relief. I have been seeing dr. Kong for a couple of months and now I can sleep at night. There is still some pain but it has improved tremendously I can actually ride my bike and enjoy the ride. Last week I did a 60 mile ride… of course my back hurt after but now I have Dr. Kong to fix it.

This was my first acupuncture visit ever, so I cannot compare this to anything else, but I can say that my experience was beyond wonderful (esp. when compared to my Kaiser experiences).
After going the «traditional USA» route (rude, gossiping Kaiser cashiers, disinterested primary care physician barely touching me too busy typing what I said like he were my secretary, ordering x-​rays, and sending me to physical therapy) and being met with coldness, indifference and doctors guessing what «might» be the problem, I tried something new.
Was treated for nerve damage in shoulder, neck, and side from work-​related heavy-​lifting trauma. Pain had persisted for months, and «physical therapy» actually made things worse.
One day after my first acupuncture session, and pain is now 90% gone, with only a mild discomfort where there once was sharp, shooting, wince-​inducing hurt.
Office is small and quiet hidden between an army surplus store and an abandoned liquor store.
Upon entering, it smelled of herbs (which I liked).
Kong Hai Ok was comforting from the very beginning. She asked many questions (Korean is her first language, and though her accent is thick, she was glad to repeat herself the few times I struggled to understand) and gave a thorough exam to assess my needs.
After the needles had been placed, she proceeded to massage me with some sort of soothing oil. I melted into the table. After about 30 minutes, I was practically vibrating, I could feel the energy pulsing inside of me. I nearly fell asleep a few times, I was so comfortable too.
Kong Hai Ok was a very loving and kind woman to me (reminded me of my grandmother how she always patted my hand or placed her hand on my shoulder) who told me that she is proud of her job and I can see the sincere happiness in her face when I said how much better I felt.
Though not cheap ($ 80 for initial visit), and though some of the needles caused temporary pain (just keep breathing!), I have not felt that relaxed in years, let alone CARED FOR, and I immediately made a reservation for my girlfriend as a gift to her (as she has abused her body in front of a computer for far too long without any reward).
I am soooooooo glad I went!

She reduced my thumb tendonitis pain 40 percent in the first visit. I will (and have) return to Kong again and again… Truly amazing. I highly recommend anyone to go to her. I haven’t tried the herbs, just accu, but I plan to. Being that I depend on my hands for my livelihood, I did not take this decision lightly.

I wanted to give Dr. Haio Kong props for doing such a wonderful job! My pain in my jaw has been much much better and I noticed a difference after my first session. She was and remains to be very thorough with each exam checking in and finding out my pain levels and trying to find out the source of the pain for my hip.
I also walked in with a 2 month old sprained ankle injury that wasn’t getting any better and I didn’t have full flexibility. I also was having hip pain which I assumed was from my cycling. She started to investigate the root of the hip problem. We found out it was referred pain from my groin areas. Probably a result from not stretching out that area properly before my rides. Makes sense after spending so much time on the bike holding a particular position for 3 – 4 hours at a time. You’ll be happy to know that my ankle is 100% just after 3 sessions and my hips are feeling much better, on my way to 100%
No rushing in and out with Dr. Haio. She takes her time with you in figuring the best plan.
