Gun World

I think this place gets a rap because it’s kind of a mixed bag.
The staff can be hit or miss, you will either have a guy who is super helpful or a guy who barely talks to you and you’re kind of afraid of ask questions. That’s the thing about buying a gun, it’s not exactly an easy or fun experience. And it really helps to have someone who understands that. Typically the younger staff is a little more helpful.
Guns Direct, just down the street is much friendlier and cheaper and you feel comfortable. Unfortunately they do not have a humongous selection, which is where Gun World comes into play.
They have every single gun you could imagine.
This place is truly a «one stop shop.» You won’t be trying to find ammo, a holster, a case and a gun all on different places. It’s perfectly located in Burbank. So for the mark up, you’re not having to drive to Pasadena, the horrible selection at Turners buy shit online or deal with searching GunBroker for hours.
The prices high for a gun store. The mark up is kind of intense. But you’re paying for a wide selection and convenience, and since they are a small business, I’m actually okay with he higher prices. They have to keep the lights on and you’re not going to be running around looking for that one thing that they already have.
PS, there are signs everywhere that say you can’t pick up firearms off the wall. So don’t be that guy.

Some prices are decent but for the most part not competitive at all. Place is under staffed and those that are there are either swamped or ignore you (waited about 20 mins before offered help). I will say the selection is extensive so before you get a gun on buds, come here first to check out in person then order at buds gun shop point com. Overall, place is just a relic of the past in dire need of modernization.

Gave them another shot yesterday. FAIL Wouldn’t even try to come close to lowering the price to where everyone else was set at. Was upset about me bringing «price match» up and got even more upset because another customer heard me say it and he asked the same. Walked away, drove 5 – 10 mins and saved $ 200.
Still has a cool collection tho, just wish the prices were competitive.

Huge selection of firearms; however, the place is ridiculously overpriced to make up for it. I understand its hard to compete with online prices, but why is part or accessory in the store double the price of that on Amazon, or even in other local gun shops. I know its hard to compete against Amazon or other stores, and the price might need to be inflated by $ 5 or $ 10, but to sell a $ 40 item for $ 89 is ridiculous.

Considerably overpriced on most of their stock. Did you say $ 250 for a Phoenix Arms 22LR? Ya, once you see that it’s hard to give any of their other prices much credibility

Very rude place… went in there to buy a shotgun and we are beginners. .don’t know much… the Hispanic guy there was so rude. treated us unkind… we went down the street to guns direct… awesome people helped us from the get go. .we bought a Remington 870 within 5 minutes of being there… avoid gun gallery if you want customer service.

I went into another store to buy my first gun and it was a horrible experience so I left and went to gun world and the guys in here were amazing and made me feel totally comfortable. I had the best experience ever buying my first gun! I took the test, I talked to the guys for about an hour about the gun I was buying and all the stuff I needed to know. They were totally friendly and I ended up leaving with the exact gun that I wanted (Ruger 357 mag) and for a great price! The guy even knocked $ 70 off of the price! As far as gun stores go, I went into a few when researching guns, and these guys were the friendliest and most helpful. A lot of these places make you feel like an idiot if you don’t know everything about firearms, but not these guys. They walk me through the whole process from taking the test to filling out the form online. Great place!

I had a very good experience there. They were out of stock of what I wanted. They went out of their way to show me what they use. But, I still wanted the product I had already researched. They offered to order it and suggested where I could go get it at another shop.

I have purchased Glock 21, 22, Remington 870 Police magnum and a Sig Sauer P237 FDE as a SSE. I have never had any problems with customer service, you just have to wait your turn. If you have ammo or supplies you want to purchase just speak up and they will ring you up in between the gun sales.
I like this place because if other gun stores don’t have a model you want a Gun World probably has it. Yes you may find it cheaper somewhere else but does the other gun store actually have it in stock and how much driving around is involved. Remember you have to do 2 visits to the gun store to purchase a gun. The first is to the DROS and the 2^nd is 10 days later to pick it up. If the gun store has to order the firearm for you, well you have a 3^rd trip to the gun store.
I’m willing to pay a little extra for the time saved and convenience, are you?

Bought quite a few guns here.
I thought their selection was amazing at the time a lot of gun stores barely had any inventory.
I guess the place changed hands and staff as well. I used to deal with George, a very patient and informative gentleman. Then he was no longer here, and I had to deal with a younger staff that didn’t have his positive attitude, knowledge or patience.
I was a loyal customer but I decided to go to turners, I found the same AR 390 $ cheaper there! I was shocked! Needless to say I bought it at turners in reseda. I came back once to check out a Kahr cw9 and it was 100 $ more than Greta’s in Simi Valley. That was the last straw.
Oh, and the new owner Damien is stuck up to the highest degree. Does not deserve my business. If you are a grumpy person or having a bad day you should not be serving customers, it gives your business a bad vibe and a tense atmosphere.

The guys are very knowledgeable and kind, and the selection they have is great. They made me feel very at ease, and answered all my questions without any hesitation. And when it came to making my purchase, they walked me through the whole process and clearly explained everything. I’m very satisfied with the service here, and am looking forward to coming back again :)

Nice collection bad prices

This gun store is horrible. Customer «service» does not exist. Why open a business and then be rude and arrogant to your customers. I have been a firearms enthusiast all of my life, and I am a veteran with good knowledge of firearms. Gun World treats everyone like they think they are an idiot.
No business for you. I hope you have to close your doors. You deserve it.

The customer service sucks. They talk to you like you owe them money. No hello, how are you or how can I help you. Bunch of uneducated people that charge a ridiculous amount. They will highball and as soon as you tell them some place is much cheaper they try to come close to that price. They think people are idiots. Worst place ever a tiny little shack. I rather pay more money for a product with excellent service then these guys. Horrible.

Let me begin if I could give it a negative star I would. Went there a few times gave them a chance but it was like pulling teeth with these guys! Attitude big time like they are doing you a favor by ripping you off for ammo and their guns are way over the norm on pricing. Most gun stores are run by people who are rude but these guys take the cake! Even Turner’s in Pasadena has a more helpful group of employees than these morons. I want to help out the Mom & Pop businesses in Burbank but Gun World is just so lousy I can’t do it. Go to Turner’s or American Gun Works in Glendale they will help you out.

Spotted this place and dropped in last month looking for spare magazines for my Colt .45 ACP Officers Model. These mags are much less common than the full-​sized auto, but Gun World had about dozen in stock. I did not buy them all, but it I nice to know they have them stocked. In looking around, it appears that they are very well stocked on guns and accessories. The store appears quite unassuming from the outside so this was a pleasant surprise.
In addition the young man who helped me was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Too often the gun shop experience is the «I’m the sales guy and I know lots more than you about guns». True or not that is not how it works, pal. Just educate and help me and I might just patronize your store.
At any rate, I will be back.

Their customer service is horrible and all they care about is taking your money.
First off. After doing research I noticed that this place is waaaaayy overpriced.
It took me 10 – 15 days to get my guns because their employee messed up on my paperwork.
I came in to sell my guns today because I’m having a baby and the wife wants all the guns gone. I’ve shot about 200 rounds through each.

They have me $ 1,000 for everything… I bought these both from them late last year.
I called Martin B. in culver city afterwards and it was confirmed that I was taken advantage of. My unborn child is more important that guns and me driving across town when I live in Burbank isn’t something i looked forward to doing.
I use my Unilocal for businesses worthy of a review, good or bad. This place is worthy of 1 star review.

Basically they are ruthless…

I had been looking around for a specific bolt action rifle, and called several places. Gun World was the only place to have what I was looking for, and with a couple different options. The conversation on the phone wasn’t especially friendly, but it wasn’t rude either. The man was straight to the point, but still helpful.
I went in today to grab what I was looking for, and Mike helped me out. He offered some alternatives, but wasn’t too push about it. In the end, I knew exactly what I wanted, and he rang me up. The process took about twenty minutes (for the test and paperwork), which was fine. It went by pretty quick due to the several «odd ball» customers that came in with bizarre questions that weren’t really questions. They were more like conversation questions. The kind that people ask when they know the answer, but they want to show off what they know. And the guy behind the counter would be stuck, listening to this person go on and on. It was kind of entertaining.
To anyone considering buying a firearm, do some research but don’t pretend to know what you don’t know. You don’t have to be an expert (I’m definitely not), just have a general idea of what you are in the market for.
So why no five stars? The ammo is a little steep, but plentiful.

I got turned away by another gun stores «weapons direct» because it was about to be an hour before closing time. Total BS
Gun world did all the paper work in less then 45 minutes.
My compliments to the bearded gentlemen who helped us. He was very courteous.
They had some good specials while I was there and the buyer of Gun actually purchased a gun there.

Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. Comparable prices. Great selection. Easy buying process. Will defiantly be coming back… Especially in 15 days!
