I just made our 2^nd appointment with Gregory for a piano tuning, the first was 2 years ago. Had a wonderful experience with him last time around, so made sure to hold onto his business information. A good, honest man who does good, honest (and very thorough) work. Especially when it comes to qualitative work like piano tuning, it is so crucial to have trust in the person you hire and bring into your home. His wife Melissa books his appointments for him, and is a lovely woman. Gregory is a musician and seems to truly love his work. Am very happy to have found a quality local business to support, and could not recommend more highly.

Greg came out and tuned the piano at the hotel where I work. He was very nice, professional, and did a great job. He was even nice enough to glue on one the keys that had fallen off and was stashed inside the piano. I’ve already called him back to schedule repair for a part that is missing on the piano. Happy with his work so far and happy to continue to give him business.

Great experience! Whole process around 2 hours since we hadn’t had our piano tuned in over 10 years. Greg was super professional and clear about his pricing as well as options for our piano. I also really appreciated that he was really cool about taking his shoes off before coming in the house.

Greg was AMAZING! He was able to tune a piano I bought on craigslist that had been neglected for years. Also, the strings were spray painted over which he told me can ruin a piano but it wasn’t ruined and he made it sound beautiful. He was very knowledgeable and my piano sounds wonderful. His wife, Melissa does all of the scheduling and such and she was a doll! Super sweet on the phone and was able to answer all of my questions. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. Since pianos need tuning on a regular basis to stay in top shape I will be using him from now on.

I came across Greg on Unilocal and just had my baby grand tuned by him. Greg’s professional, prompt and courteous. As the other reviewer mentioned, he’s easy to get in touch with via email.
I’m grateful that he traveled down to OC to tune my piano. The process took about 1.5 hours. Other technicians I’ve used in the past all took less than an hour to complete the work. Greg’s approach in comparison was much more meticulous. I can tell he took great pride in his work.
Sure enough, my piano sounds wonderful now and the keys feel heavy as they should.

I have rarely found the time to review on Unilocal but Gregory Smith definitely earned my time. I made an appointment with his lovely wife, he came the next day, and he made our 1885 piano sound beautiful. I was concerned because it hadn’t been tuned in more than 7 years, but he didn’t have any problems. His price was more than reasonable. When I told him it was a surprise for Father’s Day, he made the time to come back the next day and repair the broken pedals so that it was perfect for Sunday. He had to drive a long distance for the parts, and got extra parts just in case he needed them. He repaired the pedals to «good as new» condition, and didn’t charge me for his time to get the parts. He’s a true professional and his work is top notch. Thank you, Gregory!

Thank you Unilocal!I found Mr. Smith on Unilocal about a week ago, called and set an appointment with his wife… She points Mr. Smith in the right direction. Well it seems that the only direction Gregory needs! He certainly needs no direction in tuning a piano. He tuned our piano, and he repaired a broken part that I have been afraid to ask the cost to repair, until today. What a great price! As he completed his work, and just when I thought all the fun was over… He played a tune! Hey, a guy’s gotta check out his handy work! He is an awesome musician, life long musician it turns out. Give him a call, at least once a year.

I unfortunately have such a unique oddball, old piano that parts are nearly non-​existent… at least in the US… Greg exhausted all sources and could not help me. I may be the only one ever in his 30 years of piano experience…
He btw did not charge me for coming to my home, and all the behind the scenes research he did. He would not even accept money for this– I tried. And I’m stubborn.
Having said that… I agree… Greg is great… super nice, you can tell he is a craftsman, and artist about his work, takes great pride in it– If I ever buy a tunable piano– this is surely the man. absolutely, without a doubt.

Greg is terrific! Greg was prompt, courteous and very nice and accommodating about my out-​of-​tune piano. He explained that I would need some additional pitch raising and his pricing is very reasonable. He finished in the time estimated and voila, played a lovely standard on my beautifully sounding piano. Bravo to Greg! I just had my piano tuned by Greg and boy does it sound great. Greg was on time, professional, friendly and easy to talk to. He explained his process of tuning my out of tune piano, gave me a couple options without pressuring one option over another and took great care in his work. As an added bonus, after tuning the piano, he blessed it with a beautiful jazz standard. :) I’m glad to have found someone to maintain the care of my piano and highly recommend his work.

A few years ago when I purchased my new piano, I had its initial service completed by a manufacturer-​recommended technician. The service was awful and my piano was left out-​of-​tune. Furthermore, that piano tuner took advantage of the chance to try and sell me a bunch of accessories in which I was completely uninterested.
I was fortunate to find Greg soon afterwards, and I couldn’t be happier. His meticulous care of my expensive instrument has always been exceptional. As my piano has gotten broken-​in over the years, he takes pains to make small adjustments that ensure that its touch and sound remain at its best. As someone who has been playing the piano for almost 30 years, I can say for certain that his work is great.
Greg is easy to get a hold of, and always shows up promptly. Perhaps most importantly, he is a very kind and down-​to-​earth person with whom I am very comfortable coming into my home.
