Facey Medical Group

I live in Moorpark and go to Facey in Burbank mainly to keep Dr. Lisa Kao as my children’s pediatrician. There are at least two Facey facilities in between my home and Dr. Kao’s office but seeing another pediatrician is not an option after receiving such excellent care from Dr. Kao and her entire staff including her super efficient Assistant Rebecca!!!
Dr. Kao makes sure to treat the patient but keeps the parents well involved in all visits. She is friendly and very thorough she is very compassionate about patient care.

I feel very sad updating my previous 5-​star review to now 1-​star.
Suddenly, there are a lot of problems:
Now I find out that this office is being run very poorly, even Facey procedures are not followed by the office management, patient liaison does not exist, wrong medical codes submitted to the insurance company causing additional charges.
And the Burbank office management does not do anything about taking the responsibility and correcting it.
This office gives me a roun around for a month now.
Who needs this stress? — it is bad for your health!

After giving me a run around for a month, Facey Burbank refused to correct the overcharges.

My experience with Facey Medical Group is excellent and my physician Dr. Iliana Shaw is the best doctor I could ever had in California .
Had Kaiser before and they never called me to remind me for a physical annual exam or lab test !!
Facey group always call me for appointments and lab result .
Dr.Shaw keeps in touch with me trough email and sometimes phone calls .
Love this place and their staff everybody is friendly.

I left a message yesterday for Michael, the clinics Patient Care Coordinator and expressed my concern for the care I received at my previous visit.
He returned my call today and suggested I switch my care to another PMD within the facility that he felt could be a better fit for me and my medical needs. He is also going to facilitate my referral request. I will follow up with my final assessment of the facility. Here’s hoping!

Props to Dr. Wasson! He is thorough, knowledgeable, and super professional. You can tell he takes pride in his job and cares about his patients. He is very down to earth so it’s easy to talk to him and discuss medical issues. I was actually thinking about leaving Facey Medical Group but then ended up finding him.
The facility is clean and clinic is timely with their appointments. Street parking is available as well as garage parking for a fee.

Most of the doctor’s offices I have been to in the past. This one, however, is exceptional. Starting with the receptionist who was very professional and helpful — I didn’t get her name unfortunately — to the nurse — Elizabeth — who was outstanding — very professional and attentive. Elizabeth gave me a vaccine injection and it was painless! Dr. Wasson (Internal medicine) obviously knows his profession and was able to quickly assess my general state of health and recommend some steps to take, including further tests. He also gave me some sound medical advice on some tests I was considering. He inspires confidence and that’s what I look for in a doctor. The lady who took my blood was also excellent. I also forgot to jot down her name. I am very impressed with this doctor’s office and will surely make it my primary care in the future.

I don’t know what to say about the overall group for facey but I can vouch for dr Kao! She’s the most amazing and loving dr with my daughter and my husband and I. She personally calls us and respects our decision with prolonging certain vaccinations. I remember her holding our newborn in the hospital and she was so careful and understanding. She was God-​sent from Dr. Twu. Please give her chance you will love her nurse Rebecca and her staff. Love them all.

Dr. Lisa Kao is very nice. I have observed her to get annoyed at me the parent. She is very cautious to give a child antibiotics unless at the visit it is very obvious the child needs it that moment in time. I have no problem with that but I think that a MD and parent should work as a team and do what is best for the child. I had to practically beg for antibiotics. Topical visits go like this. You are sent home with recommendation to rest and drink lots of fluids, then my child gets worst the next day — take time off work again, pay another co-​pay, pay more parking fees to see MD WHEN the situation and prescriptions could have been handled the first visit. Dr. Kao tends to only want to hear from the patient/​child and ignores the parent for a major of the time. I have to prep my child so Dr. Kao can hear straight from young patient. I’m sure she has her reason for this but it’s a little strange. I think doctors forget that we are on the same team — the goal is to have the child feel better and recover quickly.

Stay as far away from the Facey medical group as possible. Hard to get an appointment when you need it, if you can wait a month then your OK. Misdiagnoses what the problem was and then writes a prescription for drug that insurance wouldn’t approve to the wrong pharmacy. Big waste of time.

Facey Medical Group in Burbank, provides excellent customer service to their patients. From the moment you enter their facility you are greeted by their friendly Registration Representatives. The waiting room is clean and the wait time to see a physician is very reasonable.
Although there is a Facey location close to home in Mission Hills, I choose to drive down to their Burbank location, which is about 12 miles away, mainly because of my kids’ Pediatrician, Dr. Lisa Kao!
Dr. Kao and her staff are very professional and always provides the best care for my children! I appreciate and respect Dr. Kao’s candor and professionalism, always ensuring that she is knowledgeable about her patient’s medical history.
In addition, Dr. Kao makes an effort to not only discuss any necessary procedures and/​or concerns she may have with me, as the parent, but also discusses it with her patients, despite their age. She is able to relay and articulate the information to my children, in words that they understand, so that they can be an active participant and have a voice regarding their treatment/​care!
If you are in search of a great Pediatrician, I would highly recommend Dr. Lisa Kao!

Transferred to Facey from another Medical Group in the same building, and I been extremely happy with the services received here. My daughters and I have seen different Drs and we been happy with them all, especially with Dr. Minosa, her MA Marina, Dr. Lisa Kao and her assistant, and Rosie in the front desk. :-)

Dr. Wesson is very professional and informative. My diagnosis is good. He preformed an ear wash procedure, which was really cool. I wish I took a picture of all the nasty wax in my ear. Awesome! I can hear again.

My experience with this group was complicated. The facility itself is clean, up to date. The online tie in is helpful and modern. Ronny, the nurse practitioner assigned to me was very attentive and kind. She returned my phone calls and emails.
Dr. Shaw on the other hand, was not easy to deal with. I came to Facey for a general check up after not having had insurance for awhile. I’m finally with a decent plan — Cigna, but HMO. I thought it wouldn’t be THAT difficult to have two issues dealt with, so I didn’t choose the PPO. I am on no prescriptions, have no diseases or surgeries in my past.
First, I needed a chiro referral. My request was met with doubt, disbelief and dismissal from Shaw. I explained that I had been going to Chiros for years and nothing else helped unless they wanted to pop for reduction surgery (more on that later.) Long story short, it took another visit and countless phone calls to finally get the referral almost three weeks later.
When I finally went to Dr. Chioffi (fantastic, btw) he noticed that my hips were almost ¼″ out of alignment, and agreed that my back was messed up. He submitted notes to Shaw and Facey about my condition and they returned them to him CORRECTED, as in they left out certain conditions or problems that he noted (trying to reduce the chances that I’ll be granted reduction surgery.)
Second issue: hypothyroid. I have been suffering with symptoms for years and every woman in my family has the condition. After basic blood tests, Shaw concluded that I didn’t need further testing and denied the referral. I guess a dozen symptoms and family history don’t count! Well, I popped for the tests out of pocket and guess what? I am on the low end of all the spectrums for the major markers, including T4, T4 and free T3.
I called Cigna immediately and am now a member of One Medical Group.
I understand that the function of an HMO is to try to save the insurance company money, but I will not go to a doctor who is clearly more on their side than mine.

I’ve been coming here for about a year but have been with facey for about 5 years doctor shaw is amazing I just love her she never rushes me always gets back to me right away and it just feels personal! Ronny is also amazing she is doctor shaws nurse and she is always kind and willing to answer my 50 000 questions :) Gabbie at the for test is great as well.

Yes, it’s been almost 5 days and Lorene has yet to call me back… I’ve already seen another doctor but I’m a little curious to see how long they will hold out. considering that Brandon emailed me with the number to call and then nothing. I’m not holding my breath, I would go elsewhere if you are reading this. This place is a joke…

I have a cheap HMO and had to do some serious digging until I stumbled upon Facey Medical Group.
I called after hours to see if I could leave a message to get an appointment. An actual person picked up, he was the night time physician. He took a message and I got a call back the next day. I made an appointment with Dr. Dao.
Parking is tricky, their is a big parking structure but they don’t validate. And it’s $ 8 for the day. I ended up paying $ 7 for a few hours stay. There is street parking if you can find it.
The facility is brand new, 5 months old.
The staff are friendly, the wait room is spacious and clean.
They have an online system called FaceyConnect where you can email your doctor, make appointments online, and see you medical records. I have yet to have access to my account. It’s a new system and they are working thru the bugs.
Dr. Dao is a young Vietnamese guy. Very professional, and extremely informative. He spent a fair amount of time telling me about Facey and what they offer and do. Which was quite helpful. Who knew PCPs did annual paps?!
His medical assistant Lucy was so sweet. She was sincere and genuinely cares about you as a person. I just wanted to hug her.
Their lab specialist was lovely and patient when she couldn’t fine a vein to draw blood. I’m very tiny, with tiny veins. She used a baby needle to draw blood and it was over quickly.
I would recommend this branch of Facey Medical Group.

I just love Facey! It’s right across the street from St. Joseph, where my daughter was born. I have never felt more comfortable with a doctor; and especially for my daughter. I have called numerous times for Dr. Kao about questions I have had and she has always called me back within in an hour or so. Everyone there is very sweet and especially the nurse Rebecca! Dr. Kao is an amazing doctor. Very personal and has a lot of patience. So glad I found her for my daughter!
