First contact they were super responsive and took the time and effort to send me samples relevant to me in the mail.
When I was ready to go ahead Felicia came in to meet me during the weekend. She talked with me, showed me various samples, and walked me round the shop to show me the presses. Gave me some tips on setting up my files and adjusting the artwork specific to the letterpress output.
Quote was comparable to other letterpress vendors, and total amount was within $ 5 of another shop that I almost went with. Letterpress printing in general is not cheap given the labor involved, but by comparison you won’t beat the value of Creative Letterpress.
They let me press check when they did the invite portion of the stationary suite I was ordering. Color was dead-​on (hand-​mixed by eye by Doug apparently), registration was dead-​on. Quality of the print is fantastic.
I wanted belly bands that matched exactly the orange RSVP envelopes I was using, and they special ordered the exact paper I needed without a fuss.
When they printed my thank you cards and bellybands, which they knew I was nervous about as I was incorporating blind impressions and aforementioned special ordered paper, they texted me photos of the prints (which looked amazing).
They attached the invitations to my pocket folders, did a great job, and fee was very reasonable. I designed belly bands with a pointed tip. Doug and Felicia made it happen for me, cut the tips with scissors cleanly and at the exact angle needed.
Planned on buying my own glue dots to stick the belly bands down when I did the final assembly myself. Felicia had already assembled an invitation set as an example, gave me tips and options on tape, offered to lend me their tape gun, and gave me a couple of reels of the tape they use.
They happily gave me the polymer printing plates from my job at my request, which they didn’t find very exciting but I thought had a nice kitsch factor.
They put up with me bugging them a lot, were very responsive, and final product was perfect and exactly as hoped. Couldn’t recommend anyone else more. Amazing painless experience.

We had the best experience with Creative Letterpress. Felicia was so nice, knowledgable in her craft and the final product was absolutely stunning. Plus not only did they gave us a few extra prints for safety, they let us borrow a tool so we can easily assemble the cards at home (only needed if you don’t have them assemble– which they offer a very fair price for).

I came to Creative Letterpress in need of foil stamping for my client’s débutante celebration. I built a mock-​up of what I needed and took it to Doug and Felicia. Within a few hours I received a quote and the invitations were ready on time. The final product was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! It exceeded ALL of my expectations. Doug and Felicia are awesome! They were very friendly and extremely helpful, I am looking forward to working with them in the future.

I cannot over emphasize how amazing Doug and Felicia are at Creative Letterpress. They are the classic and much missed «mom and pop shop» of yesterday, whose tenets include high quality, high customer care and a true love of their product.
Being a professional designer, I ambitiously set out to create all aspects of my recent wedding. This started out simply, with just a logo and color scheme and then quickly spiraled out of control to include venue décor, website, cake, invitations, style guides, etc. However, by FAR, my favorite and most cherished design was the formal invitation.
Initially the plan was to create each of these pieces by hand to ensure the highest print quality and best production possible. Unfortunately, once my mother started adding friends (like her book club) to the guest list, this idea became wildly unrealistic. Thus, I took to the internet to find the best custom print house available. I ordered numerous sample packets and was almost ready to send my ai file to the online vendor.
Then I stumbled upon Creative Letterpress and my world exploded.
While their site was pretty barebones, this Unilocal page’s images made my eyes tear with envy and joy. I quickly scheduled a meeting with Doug and Felicia and fell in love. They COMPLETELY knew what I was looking for and, as I perused through the books of samples, saw how amazing my invitation would be in their hands. I must also thank my beautiful and patience and understanding (non-​designer) wife for sitting in that office for several hours as I gushed over their work.
Throughout my entire order process, Doug was not only a great vendor but also a great friend. Being a design professor, he critiqued my designs and worked with me to produce the magnificent piece featured below. On several occasions he called me down to the office to share print samples to ensure the colors matched the rest of my décor and designs.
Now I have been to several weddings and the conversations are usually pretty varied, ranging from the food, to the bride and groom to sports. However, I was both excited and proud that many of my friends and family came over to discuss my awesome invitation with me and my bride. Our guests were impressed not only by the classy letterpress imprint, but also the extremely high quality paper stock and the incredibly vibrant and rich inks Doug used.
I am aware that there are numerous cheap printing options available both locally and online. However, if you want to have the greatest quality prints and most unique /​classic design, I STRONGLY urge you to visit Creative Letterpress. I look forward to sending all of my future production pieces to Doug and Felicia!

I came to Doug and Felicia because I really wanted to have my wedding invites+rvps letter pressed in a short amount of time and they were very helpful and friendly and the rates that they gave me were great especially for the turn around time that I was looking for.
Unfortunately my wife wasn’t into the idea of going through the letterpress route, so I had to bow out, but I was so impressed Creative Letterpress’ service and rates are that even though I wasn’t able to use them this time, I was compelled to give them a review.
I’m definitely looking forward to using their service for other print designs I’ll have in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone looking into getting their designs letterpressed!

If you need ANYTHING printed, especially something as important as your wedding invitations, stop right now: you’ve found your people. Doug and Felicia are PHENOMENAL in their customer service and attention to detail. They tirelessly met with my fiancé and I (plus my parents!) for over 2 hours on two separate weekends as we pored over invitation after invitation as we were trying to finalize our design.
We ended up designing our own and having them print them, however their suggestions for the gold coloring (we had a gold foil-​stamped invitation suite), the paper color/​weight, and envelope size were very helpful.
I must have emailed back and forth with them 20 times as I kept changing my mind on this or that, and each time Felicia patiently walked me through my options.
Once we got our invitations (which were GORGEOUS!!!), they included several extras — many more than we had paid for :)
Super helpful, friendly, professional, and above all talented. They are the leading experts in their field and treat every customer with respect, care, and attention. Very reasonably priced as well (we had received quotes double what they charged us!).

Helpful and friendly. I wanted our wedding invitations to look as good as possible, but on a limited run I was having trouble finding somewhere willing to print them and not make a mess of it. Creative Letterpress did an amazing job, and at a very reasonable price for the quality of the work.

My fiancé and I went to Creative Letterpress after reading Unilocal reviews. Doug and Felicia (the owners of the business) were very kind and welcoming right from the start. They sat with us for at least an hour and a half the first time we met, picking out colors, and talking through ideas.
Because I am bi-​coastal (graduate school), I ended going back to the east coast before we had time to close with them. My mother went with my fiancé to close our concept, but they ended up scratching the previous idea and starting over. When I came to visit about a month later, Felicia and Doug had a sample ready for me. I didn’t like the color scheme (not their fault, just didn’t love how the colors complemented one another). I scratched that whole concept and we started over. So, if you’re counting, that’s 3 times that we started from scratch on our invitations. Doug and Felicia were patient and helpful throughout the experience.
A few weeks ago we picked up our final invitations. We absolutely LOVE them. Since we sent them out I’ve had an incredible amount of people call or text to say how impressed they are with the invitations. I am truly happy we went with Creative Letterpress.
I will say that they weren’t the cheapest option out there – we had two other quotes that were lower in price (not by a lot), but I believe that you get what you pay for and it was worth the extra small cost to have such amazing invitations. The other guys we got quotes from were disorganized and difficult to get a hold of, and I can’t stand doing business with people like that. Felicia was kind enough to overnight me samples of different paper (at no additional cost) to help me make decisions, so the service was great.
Long story not so short, this place is great and produces a beautiful product.

I googled for days before contacting Creative Letterpress. There may be cheaper places online, but I wanted a local shop. Talked to Felicia from start to finish and customer service was excellent, turnaround time was excellent and finished quality is beyond excellence. I ordered letterpress business cards and I’m 200% satisfied.

My husband and I had our wedding invitations printed at Creative Letterpress. My father-​in-​law has used them for other work, and he recommended we contact Doug.
The first time we went over there to see some sample work we were very impressed. Doug has been in the business for years and it was really interesting to just talk to him and learn about the various printing/​stamping/​cutting machines they use. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and timely. The rest of the staff we met were also very friendly. Doug spent a good amount of time sitting down with us to look through examples of other letterpress invitations to give us ideas. We ultimately put together an invitation that was unlike any other with custom papers, type faces, and colors. The invitations were gorgeous.
There’s no doubt that we’ll return to Creative Letterpress for our next letterpress needs. Doug is a true craftsman!

Will be adding to this as soon I place and receive my order, but wanted to give a preliminary review. I didn’t call ahead, which in hindsight probably wasn’t wise as I was coming from Redondo Bch, but when I walked in Felicia was friendly and so helpful. She went over all of their products and helped me decide on the best letterpress business cards for my needs. Then I got a tour of the facility! :) It was such a great experience and having seen their incredible letterpress products, I’m really excited to work with them.

I had an amazing experience working with Creative Letterpress — from start to finish, they were kind and patient, even when I couldn’t make up my mind and needed creative input from them. Felicia and Doug were so patient and made up multiple quotes for me as I changed my mind about the design (I don’t think I would have been half as patient with me as they were!). Felicia would even follow up after the quote to make sure I had everything covered. After they started to print my job, they realized the color combination I had chosen was not giving the impact that I desired. Instead of printing the job and blaming it on me, they called me up and asked me to come and check out the cards. When I arrived, they were closing, but turned back on the presses and stayed until we found a perfect color combination. And, btw, my cards are AMAZING.
I am embarrassed to tell this story, because it does highlight what a complete pain in the ass I am as their customer. But I share it on Unilocal,because they were so kind and so wonderful, that I felt it necessary to let people know how much they care about doing a great job. If you want a printing job done right and you want good people working with you, you can’t do any better than the team at Creative Letterpress.

My wedding was last November 2012 so this review is long overdue. Creative Letterpress is hands down the best! Felicia, Doug, and everyone working at their business are very professional, warm, and will turn out excellent work! My wedding was only less than 3 months away and I hadn’t gotten my invitations done– I don’t know what I was thinking. I fell in love with letterpress invitations because they’re beautiful and timeless, but I didn’t know that it took several months to get done so I panicked. I was going to go with a company online, but they weren’t accepting orders until after my wedding– yikes! So I then I decided to Unilocal letterpress companies near me resigning myself to pay the high cost for my folly in waiting so late. To my pleasant surprise, there was a company in Burbank which got all five stars so I emailed them. Felicia got back to me right away and we scheduled a meeting with them and my fiancée. To make a long story short (sorry, I know I’m long winded), we decided to go with them! I knew from the first moment I met them that they were meant to do our invitations. You know they do everything from high end weddings, restaurant menus for superb LA fine dining places, university programs, to simple invitations– all with quality and class. They treated me so well and they gave me a quote quickly and from there everything fell into places. They did our invitations from our first meeting to the end in 2 – 3 weeks which is awesome! Felicia was wonderful! We collaborated on the design and her keen eye and the placement and style of our invitation was more than I ever expected! The final product was gorgeous! Thank you so much Felicia, Doug, and everyone working at Creative Letterpress! You guys are a class act and I will definitely use you again!

I met with Felicia on a Friday for about 30 – 40 minutes I told her what I wanted for my wedding invitations. She said she would email pricing to me Monday. After almost a week I called Felicia, she apologized and said she was really busy and fell behind with work. She asked me to give her a few days, so I waited another week. This was such a waste of time!!! With my wedding only 10 weeks away, I had no time to waste.

The quality of our wedding invitations were astounding! Not only was the finished product fantastic, but Felisha and Doug really worked hard to make sure the design translated well. The entire team was so knowledgeable! If you ask, Doug might even take you on a tour of the facility which was a ton of fun. It felt like an episode of How Things Are Made. We can’t wait to send out our invitations. It was worth the long drive to Burbank, and more.
Again, I restate– wow!

Doug, Felicia, and the team printed my Save the Dates and wedding invitations. They did an exceptional job! I threw many new and challenging requests at them, and Doug had a solution for every problem. I can really see that he takes great pride in his work. If the result doesn’t look good, he would be the first one to say so and correct the problem right away. I’ll definitely bring future letterpress jobs back to Creative Letterpress and recommend them to all my friends and clients!

I love this place! I called and they had just closed. They waited for me to get there and we had a wonderful meeting that lasted over an hour. They didn’t even have my business yet. So kind and sooo talented. Doug has a true passion for printing and his work is amazing. I can’t say enough about how great they are.
Felicia sat with me and even recommended a cool baker for my wedding cake. They were very understanding about my financial situation and I am certain they will do their best to make it work. No matter what, they have a customer for life in me and that’s just from a first meeting.

This place is great. Doug was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. He helped us choose paperstock, he mixed our custom ink color perfectly and he gave us a very interesting tour of his presses– which are really neat.
Our wedding invitations looked great and were printed very quickly and at a great price. There are so many choices and confusing details to consider when the average person does a print order (ie wedding invitations) and it’s so nice to have a trustworthy and knowledgeable guide like Doug to help you through it. We give them two thumbs up.
