1200 Riverside

I moved here almost 6 months and my experience has been the best! The management staff here is wonderful! Roger, Michael and Chanel have gone above and beyond for me to make sure my living situation is comfortable and convenient.
I’m from the Bay Area and don’t have friends and family out here to lean on. The staff here has been a good friend and neighbor to me. They have been there to watch out for my packages, help me when I locked myself out, looked out for my children when they left their key. Just all the things a good neighbor would do. They make me feel right at home.
In addition to that I found the staff to very responsive to any concerns or problems that arise. I had a problem once with a with a new neighbor being too loud. I happened to mention it in passing to Roger as I was going on my morning run. By the time I got back Roger informed me that he reached out to my neighbors and said they were apologetic. He assured me that I shouldn’t have that problem anymore and he was right! I haven’t heard so much as a faucet running ever since. Any time I needed a repair they were on it! It seems a repair would be at my door before I hung up the phone. My apartment is newly renovated and there were a few minor glitches that needed attention that were fixed within 24 hrs. It is clear that your quality of living here is their priority and they handle everything with a smile.
The community here is beautiful! The pool is amazing! The clubhouse is like an extension to my living room… luv that! The rooftop lounge is relaxing. Everything is newly renovated. It’s located in a great school district. Close to great restaurants and shopping. Just wonderful!

We moved out two years ago but still I want to leave review…
They didn’t prepare apartment for us! Walls were dirty and NOT re-​painted from previous tenants, bathroom was dirty and nasty! Management said — guys move in and we will repaint walls tomorrow… The next day no one came in… On the third day they said — sorry guys we will not repaint anything because you moved in … When you move in, it means you accept the condition of that apartment! WHAT!!!
Every other time when i was going to do laundry, washing or drying machine wasn’t working!
From one side of our apartment 2 girls/​singers used to live, from another side old lady… All night long old lady used to watch TV — LOUD TV… At 8am girls started singing…
That was HORRIBLE experience! We complained so many times and nothing was done!
We had covered parking… During rainy days roof used to leak… Rust from roof stayed on our white color car!!! When i took it to the detailing they couldn’t take it away!!!
Guys stay away from this place!!!

It’s the worse apartment complex i have ever lived in. I have been living here since January 2014, and the first management were so great, and helpful but after almost a year they changed the management.
The new management at the beginning they play nice but with the time they start talking to you with an attitude, and act weird. All what they care is the money and how can they make you pay more money.
— The GYM equipment so old and dusty, and most of their parts are missing.
— The pool is the best thing in the complex.
— The parking is sucks and if you are assigned to underground parking make sure that the roof doesn’t leak paint when it’s rain on ur car because that would be so hard to remove even if you wax it.
— cockroaches are everywhere specially in the summer, and when you tell the management they will take a week until they come (Every Wednesday).
— The dishwasher is so old and consume more power which reflect in your monthly bill mine were average of (180 – 200 $).
— The laundry is sucks they have renewed the laundry and now instead of using a specific card and refill it you can use ur visa or debt card and when you use it they hold 60 $ as an insurance + it wont clean or dry your clothes from the first time it will need at least 2 times to do it.
— The AC’s are too old and they will charge you for that when you leave so they basically take the money of the new AC out of your deposit.
— The network of most of the phones company are bad.
— When you lock yourself out of your apartment and call the management for help they will not help you and you have to learn it in the hard way. I payed $ 200 dollars for a locker guy to open my apartment (keep in mind the manger lives in the same building).
— The hallways carpet and paint are so old, and smells so bad for most of the times.
The people who lives there are amazing, and so friendly and outgoing.
2015 been a bad year with the new management they have take 4 months to fix the parking issue and they have gotten on nerves most of the time like if they don’t want me to be there anymore and kick me but they couldn’t do anything because i was paying my bills on time and they have nothing to hold on. When i was moving out the new Apartment complex that i am living in right now called them to take their feedback and they said a lot of things that i have never done regarding noise complains, and smoking complains as well. My two years experience with them were so bad and regretting every single moment and every single dollar that i spent there

This complex is absolutely amazing. You get your money’s worth here. Quiet and safe with tons of street parking. Near grocery store and necessities. Inside, two quiet gyms and a large luxurious pool and hot tub. A club house, business room, conference room, overlook– very comfortable!!! Recently renovated with a happy, spacious vibe. Perfect :)

I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and love it. The only maintenance issue I had was a bad hot water heater after a year or so. Maintenance took care of it asap. The property is lovely and very well kept up. Public areas are really nice, beautiful pool, clubhouse, gym, rooftop lounge. Lots of built in storage — crown molding, double-​paned windows — really nice apartments. Management is responsive and really makes an effort. Location can’t be beat. Relaxing area in the Burbank Rancho– horses, tree lined streets = really relaxing. I intend to renew my lease again — I’ve looked at other apartments but can’t find anything that beats this.

Owned by a large leasing company. There goal is to get as much money from their tenants while providing the minimum about of services they can get away with. Finally get fed up and move out? they dont care, people move to California every day and need apartments quick.

I’ve feel very comfortable and very hommie. Very centric, people here is very friendly, gym and pool area are very complete. And the terrace is my favorite part. Michael is very friendly and helpul everytime I need something or have a question

Our move in was horrendous and everything is always breaking because it’s an old building. Would prefer to give this 3.5 stars but gave them the benefit of the doubt.
But outside of that its been great! Everything that breaks gets fixed within a day! Gym gives me almost everything I need: space and cardio with stability and medicine balls although the wifi is shotty. No free weights :(Pool, hot tub, club house, and free B&W printer in community office are fabulous.
We haven’t had trouble with noise or smoke through the air vents but I know some people have.
Overall friendly and constantly changing community as they have short lease options.

This is not somewhere you want to live. In my case I was trying to find something quick and fleeing a bad situation. They sold me on the «security» and «quietness» of the place. Turns out the security is non-​existent since the gates are almost always broken, left open, or not working. As for the sound… well you will be able to hear everything in the apartments around you from their tv, ac, microwave, alarms, etc.
Side notes — there are ducts in the pool every morning and by night the pool is dirty.
The washers do not actually get your clothes clean and leave soap residue all over them. If you choose to dryer dry your clothes the residue spots will permanently stain.
If you park underground be careful. If there is water dripping onto your car make sure it does not damage the paint job of your car.
If you go into the office, the manager will dismiss all your concerns. After awhile you just choose to ignore the ever-​present pot smell and permanently open gates since nothing will be done.
To top it off they charge an *outrageous* amount for what you receive. For the money take a little more time than I did and find somewhere else.

Moved here from out of state, which is horribly difficult, and have to say, I’m super happy that I chose to live at 1200 Riverside. The community itself is well taken care of, and you get a real sense that the staff truly care about their residents and the grounds. The leasing office is always friendly and helpful, they go the extra mile to make me feel at home, and the maintenance staff is on point, any issue I have is fixed almost immediately. I highly recommend living at 1200 Riverside!

* The rooms are a little bit small for the price you pay, but everything else is pretty great.

Super helpful! Made it very easy to move it. Always there to answer all my questions. Apartment was super clean and nice when we moved in. Love all the amenties too!

The apartment 273 and 271 has a really bad mold inside the walls! I was sick more than 5 months! Probably they painted over the wall to cover the mold! My cat died last week suffering with breathing problem because of the mold! I still have some problems with my health! I have photos to prove my review! I will find them and I will upload them

Just signed a lease for my 4^th year! This place keeps getting better. I love it here and call it home. The management staff is great, the maintenance staff awesome because whenever I have the slightest problem they arrive in one word, PRONTO!
I have never lived in an apartment until I moved to California, and I don’t miss a house at all… home is where you make it!

This review is for anyone looking in to move in to this building.
READ THIS FIRST AND BE CAREFUL
I’ve lived at this building for 6 months and wanted to share my experience.
1. Be careful of the bait and switch. The showed me a beautiful furnished apartment with beautiful interior I design, appliances and laundry. When I already packed up my house and cancelled my old lease they showed me the unit they had which was 10 times worse.
2. Be careful of the lying, deceiving, fraudulent and disappointing management staff of the building. If there is something broken they will smile and say they will take care of it but never do. They lied about my rent due date. I called to see what is the last day to pay and I was told a date. Made my payment on that date and they charged me $ 100 late fee. I wanted to know who lied to me and they say they don’t give out names of the the management. They don’t even stand up for their own people how are they gonna stand up for their tenants.
3. Be careful of the kitchen and bring a leveler with you. The kitchen is not straight, the floors are uneven and slanted. If you put some oil in a skillet it will all move to one side. Impossible to cook a decent meal at home.
4. Be careful of noise in the building. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors from all sides. From the ceiling to the floor and both walls. Neighbors just call the cops on you if you fart or cough. I was watching tv at home and cops knocked on my door. They opened door and ASKED me if it was me that had excessive noise. I said no and they went to neighbors and they told me they could hear my tv even though when they were in my apartment they said noise level was fine.
5. Be careful of how old this building is. Don’t just look on the shiny new paint job facing Riverside. Look inside the laundry room and look at the machines. They haven’t been services for years!!! After a load of laundry you have to do an additional load just to get detergent out of clothes.
6. Be careful of the rent amount. This building is very expensive for what it offers. There is nothing this building has that others don’t.
Don’t make the same mistake I made, DONT MOVE HERE. This is a terrible building that cares only about profit, by squeezing every tenant to the last penny. I’m glad I moved out and I hope someone will read this review and think twice about moving in. If I could stop this building from making money by being cheap and if I could stop at least 1 person from moving in then I have succeeded.
I stand by every word that I wrote.

Kind of disappointing seeing a 2 star overall review on this complex. It definitely deserves a higher rating than that.
I was a resident at this complex for 3 years — from 2011 to 2014, and I enjoyed every year I lived there.
When I first moved in, I chose a unit on the first floor, in the wing closest to the management office, which faced the pool. I was happy with it until I ended up with a horrible leak coming from the ceiling that practically flooded my kitchen. It was quite annoying, but maintenance was quick to respond. However, due to the fact the leak was hard to spot, and I kept having problems with the leak, I was able to work with management to get switched to another unit literally right across the hallway from the initial unit I moved in to. This was about 3 months after I had moved in. Management at the time was really cooperative about my situation, and took every step to make sure I was comfortable and let me take my time moving in to the new unit.
Speaking of management — there had been a few different managers at the complex during my time of residence. None of which I had a problem with. They were always courteous and cooperative. As with most large complexes though, this seems to be a trend, as management personnel tends to switch over the years.
Now for a few gripes I have about the complex. Keep in mind, none of these gripes affected my living situation, but it did make things less convenient at times:
Laundry card system — when I first moved in to the complex in 2011, there was a laundry card machine in the large laundry room in the building across from the one I lived in. This was very convenient because not only did it accept credit cards as a form of payment to allow you to load your laundry card with, but it was available 24 hours (as the laundry rooms are open 24 hours). This was great because at the time I was working a swing shift, and would often do my laundry at 2 or 3 in the morning.
During the middle of 2012 (somewhere around there) — the laundry card machine had been removed from the laundry room, and relocated up to the business center. This time, the machine was cash only (which was a pain, because now I had to remember to get cash from the ATM, as I never carry cash on me), and residents were only able to load their laundry cards between 9 and 6 since those were the hours the business center was open. I had to plan accordingly when it came time to load my laundry card.
Speaking of the business center — my other gripe is that the printer in there never worked. There were a few occasions, I’d go to the business center to print movie tickets or whatnot, and the printer would be out of order. This was irritating, however, when going to the management office and explaining the situation to them, they’d print out the movie tickets for me. So, crisis averted, I suppose, though if a complex has a business center, I’d expect the printers, computers, and wifi would be top notch and working at all times.
One more thing: The landscapers! Oh the landscapers. Now, I am not sure why they mow the grass, use leaf blowers, and weedwackers for 4 hours, two days a week, as usually it’d start at 8am and go until about noon — but it made it hard for me when I was on a night schedule and was sleeping during most of the day. There isn’t a huge amount of grass and shrubbery in front of the complex, so I am uncertain why the landscapers need so much time. I can understand taking 4 hours or so to do landscaping throughout the entire complex, but not in the front of it alone. During that 4 hour time window, the best I was able to do was doze off intermittently.
Maintenance — were always quick, knowledgeable, and very kind. There were a couple of times I had to have things repaired and couldn’t stay home due to my busy work schedule. I trusted them implicitly and they never touched, damaged, or stole any of my belongings. Jesse, the head maintenance person was fantastic!
Apartment — I loved how spacious the unit was (i lived in a studio) and the amount of storage space it offered. The closet in the entryway even has a built in chest of drawers, which i thought was very convenient and pretty cool. The complex also offers storage units for an additional charge, which I took advantage of to store some of my extra belongings.
The apartment was well appointed and modern, with beautiful white cabinetry, modern track lighting, lovely wall sconces in the bathroom, and crown molding. Both the bathroom and kitchen offered ample counter space, along with tons of cabinet space in the kitchen, and space for linens in the bathroom.
This complex has a lot of great things to offer — the gym is nice, the pool area is beautiful. Real resort living in a safe, and quiet neighborhood (emphasis on safe — one of the biggest reasons I love the area). The only reason I moved was because the rent was getting a little steep for me, but I do miss the complex and would consider living there again.

When I moved to this place it USED to be nice. They used to chose who to rent to. Now they rent to whomever, there are whole families living on a studio or a 1 bedroom apartment, the tenants doesn’t respect the property nor their neighbors. There is smoking on public places. People after hours being loud and disrespectful. It reminds me of a frat house. I have been looking to move out because it is just a dump since it changed management. Don’t bother wasting your time and money here.
BTW some of the posts that are 4 stars are from people that actually work there, I can tell by the pics, they do not live there.

I have pondered if I should waste my time writing this review. I have already spent an exorbitant amount of money living and trying to get out of this complex. For me, the numbers do not lie. Spending $ 4173 for a total of 55 days at this facility the only words I can say are, yes it is that bad.
This was for a studio apartment. I will not waste the gory details on my post, but I can say the negative reviews from Unilocal speak volumes about the true conditions of this facility.
I will attach pictures of the move in day post lease signing. I will admit, I foolishly expected a better experience, but, that being said, I was a fool no doubt. I completely take responsibility for not being more cautious about moving here.
I was able to pay out of the lease and move back to the previous complex I had resided for about a year. Paying the $ 4K was completely worth getting out of this place as the environmental affects to my health would take a far greater toll if I were to stay the entire lease. I have great remorse for wasting time and money at The 1200 Riverside and not just extending my lease, and upgrading my apartment at my current location. Moved in — 24 days later early terminated — at day 55 moved out.
In short — Smoking facility, College Dorm, Allergy prone, overpopulated with relation to available amenities. Parking is ridiculous and trash dumpsters always overflowing. This adding to the creative smells that will be a noticeable life changer to prospective residents.
