The Dawg House Famous Footlongs & More

Truly a delicious veggie burger. I’ll keep coming back. I lived in Sugar Hill for almost 4 years before giving this place a try. I really wish we had tried it much sooner. So good.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! I can’t get enough and visit here quite often. Chicken on a stick, BBQ, spicy slaw dog… All very good, dogwood that makes it difficult to choose what to order!

Went here on a lark while out by Lake Lanier. This is a road-​side kind of place, with a few tables outside and not a lot of shade. It’s easy to see that both tables and parking will be a major problem when it’s busy. No coke machine because they are prepping to move their location, so everything drink related was bottles and cans. Very plain, very stripped down building with an out-​of-​order bathroom, the entire thing sandwiched between a busy road and the train tracks. What you see is exactly what you will get in terms of ambiance.
Had the village dog, which is a bacon-​wrapped deep-​fried hot dog smothered in chili and coleslaw.
Dear lord.
How does someone manage to make a hot dog this sublime? Angels sang while I ate this. The sun came out from out behind the clouds. It was the perfect combination of flavors and textures. This is insanely good. I assume the other items on the menu can’t equal this — that would be madness.
Sooo good. Seriously, this was a sublime experience. Very friendly, very sweet. I would go out of my way to come back here, and probably will.

Came here this afternoon after visiting the lake. Did a search on Unilocal and found this nice little joint. Had a few tables and chairs outside as there is no seating inside. Very cozy. Initially ordered the THE BIG ALPINE burger but they were out of chopped meat? Sweet lady working the counter said they took a huge burger order earlier that afternoon. No biggie so I went with the CHICKEN IN A COAT. Fried compared to grilled. Had the onion rings and coke deal that came with it. Wife ordered the same. Wow a pleasant surprise! Food was really on point. Chicken was high quality and lettuce-​tomato and onions was fresh, tasted great. I was digging the groovy 80’s tunes that was playing. Overall experience was great and I will be back.

Love this place, we had a Chicago dog, Boss dog and the chicken on a stick, oh my soooo good. Super reasonable and so friendly, we will stop here whenever we are in the area.

Great little place on the side of the road. Best service I’ve ever had at a «fast food» place. Husband got a burger and I had a spicy slaw dog. We both enjoyed them. French fries are peppery, not over salted, delicious. Definitely worth a try!

The Dawg House was your run-​of-​the-​mill food trailer. On the menu: a variety of hot dogs, burgers, fries, wings, sandwiches, and other «ballpark» foods. Ordered the Bacon & Bleu Dawg — a hot dog topped with bleu cheese «purée», smoked bacon crumbles, and sriracha. Wife had a chili cheese dog. We shared chili cheese fries. Nothing extraordinary or difficult to duplicate at home. Nevertheless, the food was satisfying, the prices were entirely reasonable, and you certainly can’t fault the convenience and generosity of them walking your order out to your car (it was a cold day).

I absolutely love this place it’s pretty close to my house they have a very good variety of food on the menu I recommend the chicken fingers because they are OUT OF THIS WORLD there a little bit spicy with a lot of flavor it’s all outside seating so I would not recommend it on a winter day but great for spring summer and maybe even fall!

My hubby had the slaw dogs, I had the burger, they were both absolutely delicious!!! The burger was one of the best I ever had!!! We’ll be back for more for sure!

This was our first visit today and it was amazing!!! The food is off the chain GREAT and so was the staff!!! We will be visiting this place more often!!!

It is a little off the beaten path and might be easy to miss if you are not looking for it. We tried a number of items off the menu. The Fito pie had a sweet chili but was balanced out some by the jalapeños and banana peppers. We got the classic Hotdog and it was OK but it seems that they specialize in all the different toppings. The Cheese Steak was very good with a soft bun, and gooey cheese. The wings were crispy and the Bourbon Molasses sweet and tasty. Will definitely go back and try more of their menu.

I’ve been a long time fan of the Dawg House and recently started ordering their burgers more and more. They really have a fresh off the outdoor grill type of flavor. The blue cheese burger comes with a blue cheese dressing rather than crumbled or sliced blue cheese, but that doesn’t detract from the flavor.
The wings are out of this world and we can never order anything from the Dawg House without at least getting a small order of the wings. Many flavors to choose from, we love the wings with the molassas and the wings with honey.
Great little roadside stand with friendly service and good food.

TAKE A BUDDY WITH A BIG APPETITE!
I have had this spot bookmarked for a really long time and finally decided to stop by and try something. I actually bookmarked it for my husband because this is the type of food that he enjoys eating out. If I want a good burger or slaw dog, I just make it myself. For me, the slaw dog has to start with a good homemade slaw and they make that standard southern slaw that I just can’t tolerate. I prefer a nice cheddar cheese with grilled onions and avocado on my burger so like I said, I just prepared these items at home.
Hubby on the other hand has no discriminating tastes and just loves food. I really needed him with me when I visited this little trailer because I basically let him order and I take a bite. Anything that I don’t care to finish, he will handle. We make the perfect team!
They have a very varied menu yet, I found myself a bit overwhelmed. I wanted to desperately try something so I just ordered the fries with no added salt. Boy am I glad that I held the salt because these were already seasoned and had they added the additional sea salt, it would have been too much. They were a very generous serving and not something that I would order with a sandwich unless I was sharing. The fries were delivered hot and delicious and I decided to sit at one of the tables to eat them because it was a beautiful day.
Here is the problem with sitting out at the tables: There are no condiment bottles on the table so you have to use packets which really disrupts the eating flow when you keep having to stop and open a packet. Not only that, you don’t really get as much as you need. The tables should definitely be supplied with ketchup bottles. There is a lot of noise going on because they are on a main road and noise is to be expected. However, they had jazz playing a bit loudly and a television with volume, playing a college basketball game. They needed to turn the music down and cut out the volume on the game so that it could have been a more relaxing experience.
Service was fast and efficient and the employee was very nice. This is definitely a place to bring a buddy but you may want to take it to go or eat in your car.

Just keep coming back for more– from their wide selection of gourmet Dawgs to hot wings, philly cheese steak, burgers, fries shrimp it’s all good.
Weekends sit and stay and hit the lake as all is fresh and cooked to order. Wings are fast becoming part of weary trip !

A bit disappointing.
The 1^st time, I waited for 30 minutes to try and place my order. The line was only 3 deep. For 30 minutes. I didn’t need a hot dog that badly in order to justify the wait. I was so irritated by the 30 minute mark that I left.
2^nd visit– ordered the New Yorker and 12 hot wings. The hot dog was not hot. This alone should fail this place miserably, but I will give the points for the sauerkraut (good). Also. The name of this place states ‘Famous footlongs’. Not to be a size queen, but my dog was no footlong.
Won’t be returning.

This place is absolutely amazing! I was craving a good burger and was willing to drive a little bit farther to try this place out. The reviews on here really got me excited, and they definitely weren’t lying.
I ordered the Big Western burger which is topped with bacon, onion rings, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce. It was cooked to perfection and so freakin’ delicious. The fries were pretty great as well. I really like all the options they have on their menu. There is something for everyone (who likes greasy food). It is all relatively inexpensive to with a meal costing less than $ 10 in my case.
The restaurant is basically just a trailer, so it can be really easy to bypass it. There are a couple of outdoor tables, but it is pretty obvious this is just meant to be a to-​go joint. Also, the service is very, very friendly.
I will definitely be back to treat myself.

We’ve been twice. Both times, we get excited about delicious dogs & burgers … and both times we’ve been disappointed.
There’s nothing in particular that I can pinpoint, just a sum of everything together. The burger is a great size — I shouldn’t have bothered with the combo because I couldn’t eat the fries. I think maybe the bun is a disappointment because it doesn’t really hold everything together. The tomatoes were tiny slivers. I’m not crazy about sweet pickles. And the onions were so huge and plentiful they were overwhelming.
Daughter didn’t like the chili on her hot dog, and it wasn’t anything to write home about regardless.

A friend of mine told me about this place months ago… She craved about their shrimp and ended up bringing a menu to me. I finally made it today, with my kids in tow.
I intended to try the shrimp from my friend’s bragging about them but today, I was craving a burger. So that is what I decided to partake.
They had a nice lunch crowd today… However, there was no line when I walked up. The lady that took my order at the window was extremely pleasant. She answered with pleasantries such as «You’re welcome sweetie», «No problem honey», etc… I was very happy when she pointed out the lunch special when I’d ordered the Fusion Fried Chicken — which was for my son… That’s what he got, with fries. I got the Jr Bark Burger with cheese and onion rings and my daughter opted for the Big Western. She didn’t get a side with that, as it comes with onion rings on the burger.
She says that the Big Western is 5 stars!!! While she was eating, she said «mom, this isn’t good… It’s DELICIOUS!!!» She really, REALLY enjoyed her burger! I am glad because she can be rather picky. I tasted my son’s chicken, it wasn’t bad… It had a hint of sweetness to it. He had buffalo sauce on the side, which was a nice touch. He said he probably wouldn’t get the chicken next time though. It was OK.
My burger was pretty darn good and the onion rings were great! I would come back and look forward to trying the shrimp, which happens to be on the $ 5.99 lunch menu. The lunch menu doesn’t come with a drink but you can get a canned drink or bottled water for $ 1.00. Great price and great value… Would/​will return again!
We ate in the parking lot, in the car.

This place is bad ass. Why? Service and food on the lake is awesome.
They will deliver to your boat dock and slip!

Suggestion: Call ahead and order if you know you are coming. They get really busy…
This is a family run business that we will continue to support 3 – 4 times a week.

I have drove down Peachtree industrial many times passing by this unusual trailer style eatery. I always thought it was Closed!!!
Today, on the first day of Summer I looked it up on Unilocal.With all the delicious pics on the site we had to try it out!
Karla/​husband are the owners, she was very nice and informative about the Dawg House, their children actually help cook up the Dawg house recipes.
The menu is Huge with burgers, fries, shrimp, grilled chicken skewers, fish, chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, BLT’S, FRITO PIES, chili cheese fries, onion rings… and drum rolllllll… HOT DOGS!!! (Loaded with some of everything) you might find it hard to decide! :)
We ordered the chicken in a coat sandwich (chicken in a coat has a flavor like Curry or turmeric with a touch of allspice or some kind of seasonings used I wasn’t a fan of that) also had chili fries/​chili& cheese on the side, Pollo on a stick (a foot long skewer of grilled chicken with any sauce added) and The Chicago dog)
The first thing I tried was the Chicago dog, I was suppose to share it with my spouse but we all know how that can go sometimes! (Get your own) haha.
I took my first bite of the chi dog and I sent him to order another.(It was all mines) Karla was kind enough to make another one on the house for us and hand delivered it to the truck.
The Dawg house is more of a carry out place that also delivers. Outside there are 2 picnic tables to sit at if you don’t wanna take away or eat in your vehicle.
Since I know now that they are open I will have To bring the kids out to try them. Thanks again Karla!
