This is the best Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant we have found in the area(this may or may not be a good thing). I would put the quality above Twisted Taco. They have large portions, all you can eat chips and salsa, and very tasty dishes. Would definitely go again.

Ordered the grilled chicken fajitas for dinner. The best part is the freshly made flour tortillas, which were good. The rest of the accompanying items were just very, very average. Service was a bit slow. The salsa may be freshly prepared, but it lacks that little something extra that it really needs. It was very bland. Can check this off my list. Not bad, but nothing outstanding at all.

Late on bring out food plus worse of all got the fajitas for me and mom but no tortilla! We had to wait for the tortilla and I had to call manger as the fajita was getting cold plus order for my daughter and wife had not come out yet. Then, when my wife meal came, had rice instead of grilled veggies with it!

I had the Tex Mex Cobb Salad and a Berry Margarita. Both were very delicious, but 2 things disappointed me. One was the avocado fries in the salad. I only got three and they tasted kinda old like they just sat them out after frying them early that morning. The second thing was that the salad had a little too much liquid at the bottom for my liking.

I’m usually pleasantly satisfied when coming to this On the Boarder. The food is good and the service is okay. Nothing special though.

Right when you walk in there’s a B grade health inspection chart to greet you… that should have been my first instinct to walk back out the door. My boyfriend and I stood for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and then finally we were sat by a different server. Our server didn’t arrive for at least another 5 minutes, which was strange considering at least 4 servers were on and the restaurant was practically empty. Our drinks and food took way longer than they should have to arrive. The food was okay. I ordered the fajitas, my boyfriend the southwest tacos — no real complaints on the food end as the portions matched the price point. The service was seriously lacking though and next time we’re in the area we’ll go elsewhere.

What a joke. This place is empty and the service is terrible. We stood at empty hostess stand for over 5 minutes while at least 6 employees walked by us and didn’t even say as much as hello. The manager had to come seat us. Cheese dip is cold and a putty consistency. I haven’t seen our waitress in 20 minutes. I got up and refilled my own drink. When I ordered quesadillas with no peppers she said«that means they will have to hand pick out the peppers from the onions since they are mixed together«. Terrible food and terrible service. I won’t be back.

We have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed their ever changing menu. While there are many more authentic places around town there is a sense of consistency we ha e Coke to enjoy and expect from«On The Border.» We have also enjoyed many of the same staff member like Casey who is always one of our goto servers. The tortillas are fresh and the cheese dip is always a goto.

We came here for lunch. Food wasn’t fresh from our tortilla to our meat. We probably won’t done here anymore.

Do yourself and your belly a favor and skip this place. Food is bad and the service is even worse. When I arrive I was told the wait time was 20 minutes for our party of 8. I looked around the restaurant and noticed it was almost empty which made me wonder why we had to wait. As other people arrived they were told the same thing that they had to wait. About 30 minutes later we finally got a seat. Oh yes, it was a seat that had been empty for the entire time we waited, they must have had to exercise the ghost from it first. An hour later we had our food. Mine was cold, the wife’s had jalapeño in it even though she said NO jalapeño, my nieces chicken was so over cooked she could not cut it or eat it for that matter. Fast forward 45 minutes and now it is time for the check. After tracking down our waitress she said she would get our checks. 10 minutes later we finally got them. Took another 15 minutes for her to come back and pick up our checks and another 15 minutes to process them. Really? 45 minutes to pay for bad food and even worse service. In closing, what should have been a quick lunch turned into a 2 and ½ + hour waist of time. So do yourself a favor and stay away from this place unless you enjoy waiting for empty tables and for the worst food and service in town.

Even though it was busy, our server was attentive and very sweet. The tortilla chips are AMAZING, and the queso and salsa was some of the best I’ve had. I got the three sauce burrito and it was very good and plenty to take home. Nobody at my table had any complaints about their food either. All of the food I have tried here has been flavorful and excellent for people like me who like«Mexican» food but without it being too spicy, even though they had plenty of spicy options on the menu.

I had the taco salad. I was very disappointed in it. Everything was mediocre at best. Won’t be going back.

The food was pretty much what I was expecting for a franchise establishment. The condition of the restaurant was rough. Half the tables were not cleared, the floor was littered with chips, lemon, and paper napkins, and the paper towel roll was sitting soggy on the bathroom counter. Our server seemed indifferent. We had to ask for our children’s complimentary desserts after she had brought our check. She also opened the check book at our table to see how much we had tipped her while we were still seated. However, the hostess was polite. She opened the door for our family when we arrived.

Unlimited chips was great, tho my meal took a long time. They refilled water and chips 4 times, which was very good, but the kitchen just took a while :(

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant. The customer service was good. The Avocado Grilled Enchilada was great! Brownie Sundae was okay, the brownie tasted a little off, but I loved the walnuts in them, and the ice cream was a nice touch.

Got a coupon in the mail for 2 free birthday«create your own combo» sides with the purchase of at least one entrée. Chips, salsa, Mexican rice and choice of beans(black or refried) all came with the deal. Since rice and beans also come with most of the entrees, I ordered 2 enchiladas from the«smart»(lighter) menu, with grilled veggies on the side. Still, lots of food for one person, but it was surprisingly tasty, better than most Mexican chains. A doggy bag will afford me at least one more substantial meal. Server was reasonably attentive, too. These were the positives. Since it was tax day, I decided to celebrate finishing mine with a «cactus margarita» to wash down my fiesta mexicana. No prices on the bar menu! Asked the server how much for the prickly drink. «About $ 8,» he replied. It was actually $ 10.99 on the check. I’m not a bar fly, but isn’t $ 11 a bit steep for a watered-down margarita? Hence, only 3 stars for an otherwise pleasant experience.

I love On The Border, great food, fun staff, and today the marketing team stopped by my office and dropped off a catering menu and Chips & Salsa. This is awesome. I have been to other business events they have catered so I know its great food but for a catered event the price it one of the best I have found. Looking forward to many business training meetings catered. THANKYOULUKE… I will be in touch soon.

I love their salsa here. It’s really tasty! I’ve been here many times and love the food. There used to be major problems with service but things have really improved here over the last few years. The ranchilladas are good, the tres enchiladas are excellent too. If you want something really good, order the queso fondito, it’s not on their menu. It’s on their«Secret» menu. It’s really good. Today I am trying something different. I ordered the Del Rio.

I have been to OTB a number of times. When they first opened in Duluth off pleasant hill they were my go to spot. Just a couple months ago I had a bad experience with that location and said NOMOOTB for me!!! I’m talking salty chips, cold food, just bad… even after my two margaritas I was still mad. On 3÷14÷2014 Hubby and I came to this Buford location just for a bite, and before I went inside, I was complaining to him about the last location. To my surprise THISOTB had it right!!! I was so glad they took their time on preparing our food. We had a server named BRANDON who made our guacamole live, he did it perfect and the taste was on point!!! We will be coming more often whenever we get a taste to make a run for the border…
