Fox Moving and Storage Atlanta

Saw an ad online for $ 79/​hr Special. Called for a Quote… the receptionist proceeded to play a number/​time game with me that was NOT $ 79 per hour. More like $ 130 per hour, minimum time limits, additional fees, nearly twice the advertised cost. When I mentioned the ad, she said «yes you can take advantage of that special but it will cost you more because of other fees.» That’s all I needed to see from Fox Moving. I will not be using them.

this is by far the worst moving company. they stole and broke so much furniture and items and refused to pay for the damages, even though i had the insurance!!! do not use them! please beware of fox moving and storage atlanta

I believe our crew leader’s name was Antoine. We had 3 guys and a 10×20(ish) truck to help us move some stuff out of a house and all of the rest of our stuff out of storage. They showed up early and started working right away. They worked very hard. We had big couches, piano, lots of wooden furniture and some of the heaviest stuff had to go go up to the second floor. Moving SUCKS, but Antoine and his crew made our lives a lot easier on a stressful day.

Let me say this, the actual moving crew is phenomenal. Very friendly, careful and quick. That part of this experience was wonderful, hence the reason I didn’t give them 1 star… the rest, worst transaction I’ve ever had with a business. The sales guy came to my home, assessed the items within it and gave me
A quote of $ 3k. They were cheaper than the other 2, by about $ 600 so I went with them. 3 days before the move they called to confirm. On the call, they said how many rooms do you have. I said 4 bedrooms with a basement. «This quote isn’t right, it’s now going to be $ 4200». Somehow, the sales guy missed almost half my home. They tried to blame me, but the guy didn’t list a single box, missed 2 dressers, a sofa, 3 grills, a bookshelf and my bike. My fault? HE CAME TO MY HOUSE. They went from the most cost effective to the most expensive in the snap of a finger, knowing they had my deposit (which they declined to refund) and knowing I wouldn’t have time to make other arrangements. I will certainly be taking it up with the BBB, and further. This is a VERY dishonest and untrustworthy Organization and I do not recommend using them.

Fox Moving of Atlanta Work Order # 1 325 431-I’ve was called by Brian the Operations Manager and was told he would be scheduling some one to come out to reassemble my bed after my original email 9÷6÷15 to you which has never happen it’s 9÷24÷15. After a several weeks of callbacks They have gotten paid and are ignoring my calls. This is the worst customer experience I’ve received and I’m disappointed that no one has came out to correct this problem three weeks later. I paid almost $ 400 for a job half done. I will reporting this incident to the better business bureau and follow up with posting the social media sites outlining my experience with you company; the lack of customer service and unprofessional for all to review before using your services.

Worst experience.ever. 3 bedroom house took 10 hours. Multiple smoking breaks by the 3 guys. So much damage — Knicks on every dresser. Feet bent on treadmill and dryer… freezer trim broke. They actually asked if the two beds were being moved!!! And then did not have enough covers for two beds and one got filthy in the truck. Just a bad deal. We will move again and this company will not be called. And if you are thinking of using them — make them give you a quote and only have 2 guys.

I used Fox instead of Two Men and a Truck and what a mistake. I used Two Men three times but switched to Fox because they were a little cheaper. Big mistake.
Not only were they not cheaper they never showed up the day we agreed on to move. I waited and waited. Then I called and got «Well we are busy today. We aren’t sure we will make it.» I explained We took off from work to make this day work and waited until 2:30 (they were supposed to be there to pick up furniture at 2. …
…Then they called at 4 and said they could get there at 6 that day. Incredible. Instead we agreed to the next day. The next day’s move they showed up at 9 but it took them until 3. If we had said yes to a 6pm move the day before they’d have taken til midnight.
…When they starting unloading I had to sign a document that I was satisfied with the move before they finished unloading the rest of my furniture. This is a form of hostage taking. That really left a sour taste.
…I listened to them complain how hard they worked the night before (one guy worked until 1am moving someone else). Now wonder they were slow.
…I have dented walls and black marks on walls in my house from their move. I just finished painting the walls and this prompted me to write this.
…At least Two Men and a Truck clearly estimated how long it would take and were professional. No dents no black marks and they worked all the time they worked.

It started out well when I called the scheduling office. They were very pleasant and easy to work with. They gave me a 2 hour window of when they would arrive on the day that I requested. Only problem is they didn’t show up until 1.5 hours after the 2 hour window closed. Once the two movers did arrived I didn’t even receive an appology for their tardiness. I will say one mover was great. If both were half as motiviated as he was, five stars wouldn’t have been enough and the tardiness would have been overlooked. Instead the other gentleman was extremly lazy, and that is tough to stomach when I’m paying $ 109 an hour. He continuously wanted to take a smoke break, roughtly $ 12.72 break for me at 7 minutes for a cigarette. Not only that, he would sit and rest a few minutes every 20 minutes or so while constantly complaining about his bad knee, all while his co-​worker was telling him to get to work and company policy was to rest in the truck, not while moving. He even asked me one time while his co-​worker was loading the truck, «do you think my partner will get mad if I take a break?» I answered with a yes, but he sat and took a 5 minute break anyway right in front of me. He only got up when he heard his co-​worker coming up the stairs. I called the office to complain, and they routed me to the Atlanta hub. Apparently the scheduling is taken care of in TN. I left a message and didn’t receive an call back. After a week I called back and was transfered to another manager. I received her voicemail. She actually did call back, and after hearing my story said she would address this with the Atlanta office and get back to me. She just got back to me and said they would knock off $ 10 per hour, which is a $ 40 return. My last apartment, with the same stuff in it, minus 1 room’s worth that I gave away/​took to goodwill only required three hours of move time. I tell you all of this, so you will know why I would not suggest this company to move you for any reason.

What a terrible experience. I took the day off work to move and scheduled with Fox to come by. I got the confirmation from them and confirmed it two days before the move. The morning of the move, I called them and confirmed what time they were coming (between 2−4pm). At 3:30pm, I called and they said I should hear between 4 – 4:30pm. At 4:30pm they told me that they had been trying to get in contact with me for the last 24 hours and I hadn’t responded. I read off their e-​mail confirmation and my order number, and then they said it was all their fault. They did not get anyone over to be, but offered to come out the next day. When I asked for a discount, they offered 5%, to which told them I wouldn’t be using them now or ever again.
A terrible experience, and I will make sure that nobody I know ever uses Fox Moving and Storage and that they are known for not providing to their customers.
