Great Food and Great Service. Food prices are reasonably compared to other steak houses and the steaks are great. Great Job Bare Bones!

Simply delicious. My wife and I both had caprese salads and the prime ny strip. Both are excellent. The steak in particular is good meat and prepared perfectly. Also, try the onion rings they are an experience! We will definitely be returning.

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at Bare Bones last week was absolutely outstanding — food was wonderful, service impeccable, and venue most memorable. Clay Bailey(General Mgr) made the process and evening a true pleasure — and Captain Bryan and Wait Staff Kate & Kate were so attentive and professional during our banquet for 43. NY Strip steak was as good as I can recall, and the Chicken breast was delicious, too. The salad was fresh and chilled with tasty dressing. Recommend your add the mac & cheese side to go with your veggies. The cheese cakes were a wonderful finish. If you are looking for a banquet venue with food and service that your guests will put at or near the top of their dining experiences, make Bare Bones your selection. Thank you for such a joy-filled and mouth-happiness experience!

Seriously a great steak. I had the New York Prime and it was the best steak I can remember… until I took a bite of my fiancée’s Bacon Wrapped Filet! The steaks are grass fed organic are on par with Bone’s and Hal’s — but they are cooked on wood fired grill — it gives the steaks a wonderful char on the outside. My medium was closer to a medium well — so next time I’ll order medium rare and hope for medium. The baked potato was done to perfection — it was velvety in texture all the way through. What kept me from giving 5 stars on this visit? Leaving the stems on the creamed spinach was a small detail that I think they missed. We also had the Crab Meat Stuffed Potato skins as an appetizer — we were at times wondering where the crab meat was hidden underneath the cheese — but the bigger miss was that is was very oily and greasy — you could see it on the plate. Theses are just a couple of small things that would make the dining experience better. Come for the steak — it’s a show stopper. The bartenders offered great advice on our cocktails too — the Steele Black Bubbles are worth checking out. Even I liked it and I was drinking bourbon. I’ll come back again!

An awesome dining experience the spinach dip was worth the visit all by itself add to that the most succulent steak prepared to perfection to make for an all around winning evening.

This was our first time trying Bare Bones. The décor is nice with lots of references to the original leather-working /saddle-production. There were a lot of kids here for some local school’s prom night. We had seen recommendations for the onion rings, so we tried them. They give you a lot(take care if you have less than 5 in your party; we had 2). Neither of us was crazy about the kale salad, which we split. I thought my filet was okay, but my wife didn’t like hers much(though she sampled my leftovers a couple of days later and confirmed my cut happened to be better). We did like the small cheesecake which we got for dessert. Wine portions seemed a bit on the small side. As we asked about dessert, the waitress said the power had failed to the kitchen. It was slightly smoky due to no fans and they could no longer cook. As we ate the split slice of cake, some firemen showed up. As we finished, the manager came around to get everyone to leave. I offered to pay, but he said they were comping everyone due to the inconvenience. I at least gave our server a $ 20, which was all I had. I’m not faulting the restaurant for this; I thought they handled a tough situation quite well. We’ll definitely consider a return visit.

Wow at this place. In town, looked for a steakhouse on Unilocal, and man was I impressed. I had no less than 4 table visits by the greeter, manager, and even the owner and his wife. I got a strip steak and potato for 23 $! I even got a free dessert! 5 stars all the way around. Will DEFINITELY recommend and return! Thank you Buddy the Master Meat Cutter!

Well lets just say that after 25 years of traveling the throughout the U.S.A. and abroad I came to the honest conclusion that Bare Bones Steakhouse right here in little Buford, GA served me and my better half the most amazing aged, seasoned, and prepared piece of meat candy ever! Hands down people! We both ordered the 9 oz bacon wrapped Filet with several side items and just sat back and enjoyed the aroma, the flavor and tenderness of this steak… Honestly, I forgot i needed a steak knife. It never ceases to amaze me that I found a little piece of heaven right here in my backyard, and now I understand why the owner after all these blessed years as a meat distributor had decided to finally open his own dream come true steakhouse. The plain fact that he found true mother sour dough bread in Georgia was like being back in California to my taste-buds… I agree with several reviews when i comes to having your entries come to you in timed increments and not all at once. The familiar phrase. «Patience is a virtue» rings true because a stellar meal should never be hurried through the process, and lastly always finish dinner with something sweet. may I express that there homemade chocolate ice cream is worth of lifetime of smiles… I look forward to another wonderful experience very very shortly… Overall the menu does exactly what its supposed to… Stick to a very strong basic menu of items you know without any doubt will please the crowds, deliver it with great service, and the rest is self explanatory. The owner(Buddy) hit his dream on the head. Congratulations!

The Clark’s just had some of the best tasting steaks in a long time! Had a great dinner tonight! We suggest the filet mignon and the prime rib! The owners are extremely nice and I would recommend this place to anyone. Veronica was our server and she did a excellent job! She was extremely on point and my table was never without a drink. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The steaks are 4x better than any other steakhouse and are very big! If you are feeling extra hungry, the adult sundae it is great.

Food — Fabulous! Ambience — Fabulous! Staff –Fabulous! Bar service –Fabulous! They have an adjacent lounge with leather furniture and a ping pong table where you can wait your reservation time or wait on the rest of your party. Chances are, you won’t be needing it. Wait time is minimal with customer turn around efficiently managed. I will definitely be going back.

We visited Bare Bones on a Friday night. Party of 5. We arrived around 7:30 with no reservation, so there was a short wait. But the host politely led us to their lounge where we could sit comfortably and play ping pong if we were so inclined. I really love that they have this room. So much better than sitting by the front door! The service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. They did not have the beers that I usually order, so I tried a pilsner they had on draft. A slight bitter aftertaste, but I kinda like that in a beer. My husband had New Holland’s The Poet Oatmeal stout in a bottle. It was delicious! For appetizers, we had the honey dipped onion rings and the kale Cesar. Both were delicious.(And don’t believe the reviewer who said it was nothing but cheese.) They were both a very creative take on these foods. My husband and I shared a rib eye cooked medium and scallops. The steak was PERFECT. Think it might be the best steak I have ever had. We also had their mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Mashed potatoes were a little different than I expected but still good.(They were kinda sweet. Different!) The only slightly negative thing I can honestly say was about the water. They bring you chilled bottles of water to share, but it really isn’t cold enough. Needs to be served with glasses of ice so it will taste better. We had a great experience. Definitely will visit again.

This was our first time at Bare Bones and we will definitely go back. The filet mignon was outstanding and cooked perfectly. The onion rings were amazing. Bare Bones is not the place to go if you are in a hurry but offers a very relaxing atmosphere. You never feel rushed. The service was great and our server, Ken, was very attentive and offered suggestions since it was our first time. We made reservations and went straight to our table when we arrived. Highly recommend!

I don’t see how anyone could leave a bad review of this place! We went last night to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. I was easily able to get a 7:30pm reservation the day of and we were sat promptly at 7:30pm. The service was more than you could hope for. The servers are extremely nice and attentive, they also give great suggestions when you aren’t quite sure what to order. The owner of the restaurant is there most nights working alongside her employees. That’s the way to run a successful restaurant! She recommended the onion rings, kale caesar, and mac and cheese. We also ordered the ribeye, t-bone, and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend them all! The dessert list looked amazing, but we were completely stuffed from all the yummy food. We will try a couple of them next time! Two people could easily share any of the steaks if you get a starter and a couple sides. Then, you might have room for dessert! Ha Just to address a few of the complaints… I’m not sure where the person got the idea that they don’t have potato dishes, but they definitely do. And they are delicious! The picture of the kale caesar is slightly misleading. There is a huge mound of kale underneath it. Once you mix the cheese and croûton crumbles in, it’s just like any other kale caesar. Perfect amount of cheese and dressing! It was incredible! Someone also mentioned them running out of items, but we went at 7:30pm on a very busy Friday night and nothing ran low? The owner is also a meat distributor. They won’t run out of meat! :) It might take a bit of time to get your entrée, but the timing of the bread, appetizer, salad, and then entrée is perfectly timed. I hate when you receive everything all at once and you can’t finish one before receiving another. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the meal, especially if you consider all the left overs!(I made delicious steak and eggs for breakfast this morning with my leftover ribeye!) I have no complaints about our visit! It was delicious, enjoyable, and I can’t wait to return!

I’m sorry to say that this place completely disappointed me. My mom had been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened. Because of the poor reviews, I discouraged her and said I would not join her if she chose to come because it looked pricey. So one random weekend, which happened to be Valentines weekend, my parents popped on in without reservations and had a great time(without me). For the past two weeks, all they did was rave about their food and service from Brian. They talked me in to coming tonight, their treat, so I could see how great it was. They made reservations and asked for Brian. We walked in, on time, and were immediately seated. The place was pretty full though no one was waiting for tables. It took a good bit before our server came to take our drink order. To be fair, he did have a party of about 15 people behind us and about 4 other tables including our table. I think he was overloaded; restaurant seemed to be short staffed. It took about 15 minutes to get the bottle of wine, which by the way was a great recommendation. We wanted to try the bacon crumbles and he said they were out of it. He mentioned that they were almost out, if not already, of the Ribeye. So we ordered 3 Kale salads, beet salad, onion rings, 3 scalloped potatoes, two porterhouse and a Ny Strip. Onion rings and salads were ok. Well, the kale salads were drowning in cheese. It was straight up cheese. Nothing out of this world but really nothing to really complain about. Now…We received 3 dry Mac and cheese, we immediately Pointed this out to the runner and said we ordered potatoes. He let us know they ran out of potatoes as well so the kitchen sent these out at no charge to compensate. Fine, nice touch I guess. The Ny Strip was ordered well done and was going to be shared by my little sisters. What they got, was rare… We sent it backed to be cooked and within 4 minutes it was back on the table… Still rare. MAYBE medium rare. No matter how you put it, it was not well done even after a second attempt. It was red and bloody. The girls could not eat it. My dad got grossed out between the girls steak and his porterhouse which was also red, though not as red as the Ny Strip and fatty. My fiancé and I ordered ours medium well and I have to say ours was ok. When our waiter came to check up on us, we told him about the girls steak. Which was cut up as the girls were looking for a well done part, since they didn’t find it, they didn’t eat it. He apologized, asked if we wanted dessert to which we declined and then brought the bill. He gave my parents a 15% discount«so we could come back again». I’m sad for my parents who talked so highly about this place. They’ve had a hell of a week and wanted this experience to be as awesome as their first time to show us that Unilocal was wrong. They were really let down and I felt terrible that not only was it a pretty bad experience but it was also pretty expensive. I personally, do not risk coming to places with poor reviews and high dollar signs. It’s just too risky and this is why. Hopefully Bare Bones can regroup and work out their kinks as it has a lot of potential and is in a really good spot.

I am very surprised by the polar reviews of this place! We had a great experience! The staff was excellent; Christie behind the bar and our server Courtney(?). We enjoyed it so much that I almost feel obligated to address some of the negative comments in other reviews; such as — «OK atmosphere but doesn’t touch Ruth’s Chris». Really?! it was built in an old saddle factory with bare brick walls, a saddle hangs in the bar area, the dinning area has pictures of the building when it was a functioning factory and I loved the seemingly original single pane windows. your food was cooked perfectly yet you give 2 stars? talk about a tough customer! ps — they offer potatoes and they were very tasty! «Our food took over an hour to come out» You went on Valentine’s day! No one should be a victim of marketing by Hallmark! Cook together at home on Valentine’s day, you’ll have a better time regardless of your stature at your neighborhood eatery. #lifechoices I apologize for not taking pictures of our food for uploading. the pictures in other reviews don’t look great but I am going off of our experience. Food was platted beautifully. My steak was cooked med rare as I requested and my lovely date asked for medium which is a shame but I think her preference for over done steak as her only flaw so I count myself lucky. Again our experience was fantastic! We will definitely be going back and bringing friends.

We came here the first week it opened. Sat at the bar and enjoyed great drinks. Then we sat at our table and ordered steaks. My husband ordered rare and I medium rare. Well after waiting for our food(nearly an hour later), we received tiny shriveled steaks. The plates looked like something that a Denny’s would give you. Not fancy at ALL. My husband ended up with a medium steak and I got medium well. I lost my appetite and complained bc I was not about to drop money for this nonsense. I understand that, as a new restaurant, they need to work on some stuff. But MAN! They needed to do dry runs on FOOD. Needless to say we only paid for the drinks. We will go back after a few months and try again…

We have been here multiple times trying to give a much needed steakhouse a chance in the area. It is much better to drive a bit farther. Multiple issues both times: Our food took over an hour to come out. They ran out of filet mignon and we were there early. Ordered steak medium it came out rare. Ordered burger explicitly well done and it came out rare(health hazard.) Huge issues that I hope they get ironed out but based on reviews all over Internet I’m not holding out hope.

Ok atmosphere nothing fancy and decent $$ doesn’t touch Ruth’s, the Chateabriand was cooked perfectly. They did not have any type of potatoes and I feel all steak places should have. The sides were all mushy types like cream spinach, sweet potatoes. I believe with a great steak it’s nice to have a nice roasted potatoes or potatoes au gratin to accompany. One of our friends ordered the scallops and when they came to the table they were ice cold in the center those had to be sent back they were heated up and sent back out they just where not very good. The manager did come over and apologize which was very nice. As far as our waiter was concerned it wasn’t very good customer service and he didn’t seem like he really wanted to be there. :(

Wow, Bare Bones Steakhouse is definitely top of the line!!! We have been there twice. Once on New Years Eve and once for my birthday! This steak house cooks on an open flame wood grill and all the steaks and meat were the best ever! The prices are excellent! The owner even gave me a free whole cheese cake for my birthday!!! The appetizers were top notch especially the honey dipped onion rings!!! The food presentation was the best I have ever experienced!!! Every thing was home made even the bacon AND Croutons! Don’t leave here without having a cocktail… I had the B b tin… it is a vodka drink with peaches and pineapple fused… simply wonderful! it’s my new favorite drink! OMG the desserts are FAB!!! They have a pastry chef that makes all their desserts! We shared every dessert on the menu with my birthday party crowd!!! They even make their ice-cream home made!!! The cream puffs are to die for!!! The owners(Buddy and Gaye Maughon) spoke to our table and they are the nicest couple ever!!! They made me feel like a princess on my birthday!!! This place is great for a reception. One of my friends wants to have her wedding reception and dinner here!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!
