Compact: Knife and various other tools sharpened here. Small store with lots in it. No AMEX. Private parking lot.
Expanded: Came because of two recommendations from a thread I started 18 months or so ago. Darren and Alex K both use this store and encouraged me to try it. I went with another local sharpener closer to home, which was also fine, but closed for vacation the next time I needed some sharpening done. So I came here to the Union Road location.
Arrived late in the day for them, I know this as there was a question if they could sharpen while I waited. I was prepared to leave the items there but was thrilled to hear they could do it while I waited. I think they may close at 4:30, but could not find posted hours.
While I waited I looked around. They sell all sorts of kitchen related things:
Tons of knives and scissors to choose from. Even some other kitchen supplies like whisks and wooden spoons. Restaurant sugar dispensers. Frying pans. Knife sets. Salt and pepper shakers. And more.
My items were sharpened quickly so I really was in and out in less than 10 (maybe 8) minutes. And 3 were used for running the credit card. I brought in gardening items and each was $ 5. $ 10.88 with tax. Seems reasonable to me. Especially with the current low gas prices.
No Amex. They have a private parking lot so that was easy.
