History
Established in 1920.
John Mineo started the business as «Mineo’s», a neighborhood meat market. Mr. Mineo’s son-in-law, Ralph Sapio, joined him in the business in 1951. In 1957, Mr. Sapio bought the business and renamed it «Mineo & Sapio Italian Sausage». The company gained the reputation for the finest Italian sausage in Western New York. It has maintained that reputation for the past 94 years.

Business Owner
Mike Pierro went to work part time for Ralph Sapio in 1962 while going to high school. Mike bought the business in 1976, and has run it ever since. He developed several new products, added cooked sausage to the product list, and made Mineo & Sapio products available through wholesale distributors and retail outlets. His goal has always been to be the company whose product is used as the standard of excellence in the industry.
