It’s official. There is not one consistently good bagel provider in WNY. Manhattan Bagel recently took a step above Bagel Jay’s for me, but it’s still totally inconsistent. I used the drive-thru this morning to place my order for 3 breakfast sandwiches and a dozen bagels. They were out of several types of bagels because they had«an equipment failure overnight». No problem. I ordered what I could. One sandwich came out totally burnt on one side, and of course it was the sandwich belonging to the biggest pain in the ass and jerk whom I ordered for and I took the abuse for it. Ugh. Hahaha! My nova lox sandwich had the tiniest bit of lox on it and a ton of cream cheese. I’d rather have too much cream cheese than too little though. Sometimes Manhattan is on it and other times they are hot messes. This morning was a hot mess of a morning for them. Even their hot mess though is better than the terrible service and screwed up orders of Bagel Jay’s though. Meh.

MAJORKUDOS go out to GM Allen Steinberg & his team this morning at the Amherst location. I placed a large order online yesterday afternoon to bring to my team at work this morning. Unfortunately, when I arrived to pick up my order, they had no knowledge of it. Allen & team SPRUNGINTOACTION, apologizing profusely and quickly putting together my order of 26 pre-cut bagels with 4 tubs of cream cheese. I was even given a free coffee for the inconvenience. CLASSACTS all the way! Thanks for making it right, you guys are great! :)

I’ve enjoyed Manhattan Bagel since I was a small child. The food and drinks have always been good. Now days, I often purchase large orders of bagels and different types of cream cheese for the staff at my office. My personal favorites are: egg and cheese on a sesame bagel; Delaware on a sesame bagel(wish they would advertise this again — everyone loves this one!); and an open face tuna melt on a sesame bagel. The customer service is generally good at this location; however, it would be nice to see the staff smile more and appear to enjoy the job that they have. I do have to mention that today I was not satisfied with part of my order.(Disclaimer to other consumers — this is my first poor food complaint for MB; management should be informed, so that is why I am posting the following). I ordered an open face tune melt(among other items) and I asked specifically for tuna and cheese to be on both sides; if you don’t ask sometimes that doesn’t happen. I arrived home and realized that it was not open face melt; it also appeared that none of the tuna made it on the bagel — see photo. Again, I have been a MB customer for many years and will continue to eat there; however if it was my business, I’d always value feedback that could improve customer satisfaction.

Went through the drive thru on a Wednesday morning around ten. I was the only car in line. The man taking my order didn’t seem to be paying attention or maybe he couldn’t hear me that well as he asked me to repeat myself numerous times for a 2 item order. The big issue came after placing my order where I waited at least 10 minutes for a bagel and bottled drink. They finally accepted my payment and I was shocked the hear the total was under $ 1.50. I’m not sure if they were doing me a favor since I waited so long but then finally got my order and it was correct. The bagel was standard I suppose. This is the second time I’ve been to this location and both times it took much longer than it should. I’d only return if I was out of options and there are a lot of options in the area.
