History

Established in 1985.

Great Lakes Electronic Distributing, Inc. (GLED), was founded by Michael Boyczuk in 1985. In the early years the company was primarily a distributor of computer supplies, accessories and peripherals to storefront resellers. In 1989, GLED moved into PC system sales and by early 1990 took the next logical step: They began building their own line of custom PC systems which they then marketed to computer resellers.

In April 2003, GLED acquired ISO 9001:2000 certification on their first attempt, which was indicative of GLED’s commitment to Quality and Customer Service. In May 2006, GLED was recertified for ISO 9001:2000, further validating GLED’s continued commitment to Quality and Customer Service.

In June 2008, Michael Boyczuk withdrew from the day to day operations of GLED and was succeeded by Norman Boyczuk as President and CEO. Today, GLED’s management team strives to continue the success and prosperity that was enjoyed under its founder.
