Get Waxed

The best in Buffalo. I’ve tried other places in the suburbs but so not worth it. Lisa is incredibly thorough, does not rush and her prices are very affordable especially considering the quality of her work! I get my brows done here regularly and have gotten some other services from time to time and she always does a great job. The shop is unassuming from the outside but very nice and relaxing on the inside. To counter some other reviewers, no she may not be fake and phony friendly, but she does exceptional work and that will keep me coming back!

I had a terrible experience here. Maybe the esthetician was just having a bad day, but no matter how you wax it… it was bad. She was unfriendly, rough, and non communicative. I’ve gotten countless brazilian waxes in my life at countless salons (I move often), so I was shocked and embarrassed when I had to ask, «what about my behind?» She was curt ant told me that would be an extra $ 15. Are you kidding me? I’ve never heard of such a thing. That is a brazilian! I don’t want to get into the details of why that is completely ridiculous, but if you know what a brazilian is then you can imagine. I felt I was forced to pay her extra fee for the second half of my service or go home half waxed. So I did, and then she did that thing a good waxer never does. She asked me to get on all fours. Oh man. Overall, poor bedside manner, uneven job, and then that. I will not be back.

I moved from Philadelphia to Buffalo and needed to find a new place for my eyebrows and BZ’s. I’m extremely particular when it comes to both being perfect and clean. Lisa always does a fantastic job! She makes you feel very comfortable and she takes her time. She doesn’t rush through which I appreciate very much. Now I recently had to move again away from Buffalo and am bummed that I have to find a new place because Lisa was so wonderful.

I did not like my experience getting a brazilian wax at Get Waxed. When I walked in, the owner was sitting at the front desk (the whole front desk/​lobby area is tiny) and she did not greet me or acknowledge my existence in any way. There I sat, three feet from her, in silence, the two of us the only people in the entire place, and she completely ignored my presence. And no, she was not talking on the phone… I guess she just didn’t feel like acknowledging a customer.
The wax itself was painfully awkward. I have been getting Brazilian and Sphinx waxes for 12 years — from NYC to California — and I have never had an experience like the one I did with Lisa. I hate to say it, but she was CLEARLY uncomfortable with me being a plus-​sized woman (and it’s not like I’m massive, just a curvy size 16)…she acted as if she had never done a Brazilian before! She asked me whether I wanted a landing strip and when I said yes, she asked me which direction I wanted it to go in. Huh? Then she asked me «how far down» I wanted her to wax. Um… all the way, I said, baffled. She asked me to be specific… at this point the devil in me wanted to bark «just man up and wax my damn taint and anus, Lisa!» but her obvious discomfort made me uneasy and I just talked her through how to do a Brazilian. Bizarre. Toward the end of the wax she told me that she was just going to give me a modified bikini wax and charge me less. WHY? A clue, perhaps, lay in how she spent the entire session complaining about her business and her clients, etc (when she wasn’t acting confused about how to wax my pretty standard lady bits).
So yeah, the whole thing was unpleasant and awkward from start to finish. And really made me miss my brusque Russian lady in NYC who would bark out orders and efficiently remove the whole shebang in record time.

Very Rude! May be racist. The receptionist was very welcoming and asked me if I would like a drink and took my coat to hang it up. Lisa was very Rude! Is not welcoming, does not greet the customer. Very mundane and does not explain the process for new customers. I made an appointment to get a Brazilian and she was afraid to even say the word vagina. She is a very cold person and does not seem too excited about what she does. Would NEVER go there for services again. Needs to take a class on customer service and learn from her employees what making a customer feel warm and welcomed is all about.

I’ve gone to Get Waxed for over a year now. Lisa is an artist and truly cares about her clients. I won’t ever go anywhere else for my brows, she shapes them perfectly. Her commitment to aesthetics is demonstrated in her work as well as her beautiful studio. I’ve always felt comfortable and welcomed by Lisa and her receptionist Dawn. Great customer service. Schedule a couple weeks ahead though because it’s really hard to get an appointment. So glad I did last June :) thanks Lisa &co !

I go to lisa regularly for eyebrow, lip, and brazilian waxing. She is professional and amazingly talented. Her place is very clean and you can tell she truly cares about her clients and their experience at her business. She uses a specific technique and works with you to ensure that your eyebrows are perfect.
After going to her I will NOT let anyone but Lisa wax/​tweeze my eyebrows. Except for maybe a waxer that is employed by her, because I know she would not employ anyone that waxes any less than the best way possible.

Weighing in with an update; one of the best, if not *the* best place to get your brows, etc groomed.
**Now I have to say I haven’t tried the other waxing studios in the Buffalo area, because Lisa doesn’t give me a reason to. I’m totally satisfied after each session, and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

I had a groupon for this place, and I would never go back again. Yes, it is clean but the owner (Lisa) is hard to deal with. Lisa called me, to change my scheduled appointment time to an early time due to a cancelation that day. Therefore, I arrived early but I just sat there. I sat there for over 30 mins, what a waste of my time. So her time is more valuable than mine? I’m paying her, what a joke. On top of that, I didn’t receive an apology.
Additionally while getting wax, she asked me about my previous experiences and insist that all the other salons waxed me wrong (uhhh I get waxed ALOT, like 10 times a year alot)…it was strange that she made me TURN around on the wax table. she should have been the one to move. I really don’t need her to complain to me while I’m getting wax. Never again, what a headache.
