I have way too many good thing to say about this place! They got me in quickly, FIXED my Subaru (it has been quite sad for a while), decently priced, HONEST. Great customer service. I am sad that I just found out about them– they would have had my business a long time ago– I feel like I’ve been missing out! Don’t hesitate to check them out, I haven’t been this pleased with a mechanic in years!

I have been living in Buffalo for 3 years now but so far, it has always worked out that I was able to get any repairs done by my hometown mechanic in Toronto. Last week my car started making an awful scraping noise whenever I put it into reverse, which required immediate attention. As a female, it’s very difficult to find a shop that is honest and won’t try to rip you off. After reading Unilocal & Google reviews for several shops, I decided to give Forest Automotive a shot since it is walking distance from my house.
They were quite booked up when I brought it in and told me that they wouldn’t be able to look at it until the next morning, which was fine with me. They called me the next morning and told me exactly what was wrong with it and fixed the immediate problem. They also gave me a quote to replace my parking brake (which was the root of the problem), but informed me that it was not necessary to fix it right away if it did not bother me. I was very grateful for this as I did not have another $ 300 to shell out right away.
Overall, the cost of labor and an oil change came up to $ 86! I couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend the guys at Forest Automotive.

I’ve been coming here for a year now and I still rave about this place as much as I did the first time I’ve went to Forest Automotive. They have more integrity than any other service shop I’ve been to or heard of. They truly care about their customers’ satisfaction and comfort!

So happy I found Forest Automotive! I was looking to get a second opinion after Clevehill quoted me $ 600 for auto repair (I brought my car in — this wasn’t an over the phone quote). I called Forest Automotive and I was hoping for a better price and their price was much lower. Before I brought my car in, they quoted me $ 300. However, when it was time to pick up my car I was told it was under $ 200 — great news. The best part is my car is running like new again and I didn’t get ripped off. Come here, you won’t be disappointed.

Can’t say enough good things about these two smart, friendly neighborhood guys! They are fair and they are honest. Skip the overpriced dealer if you can and forget the cheap chain joints that only end up finding something else «wrong» after your $ 25 oil change… and give Forest Automotive a chance!

Forest Automative is an interesting place. I walked in and there were poems written on the board. I don’t exactly think of car mechanics as artists and people who enjoy poetry, but my assumption was wrong. No gruff dudes here smoking cigarettes waiting for a poor fool to come in with an awkward sounding brake pad to take advantage of.
There are honest people working here who will be up front with you and take care of your car. I’ve been here twice. The first time, I had a problem with my AC clutch. I left my car overnight and they weren’t able to pinpoint the exact problem. They thought something else may have been the problem. So when they replaced my tension belt (which I believe is what they thought the problem was) and it wasn’t fixed, they called me and told me and didn’t charge me anything.
Last week, I came in here for an oil change. I should have inquired how much it would cost beforehand, since after I was presented with the bill it was $ 40. I asked them why it’s so expensive compared to other places and Jonas explained that a lot of other mechanics will try to sell you things you don’t need and «find problems» with your car during an oil change. They use it as a prey tactic to get customers. Since they don’t do that, they just charge for the labor and it turns out to be about $ 40. I was satisfied with that explanation and believe them.
This is an honest garage. You won’t be able to get the cheapest prices here, but working with the people who own it is usually a pretty pleasant experience. Recommended.

I went in today because my car was making a loud sound when I drove and I wasn’t sure if it was just my busted front fender or something serious. The mechanic at Forest Automotive looked under my car, quickly removed a piece of the fender that had been scraping against the wheel, and told me that if I didn’t hear the sound anymore, I was all set. No charge, no attempt to push me into expensive work, just a quick fix for my problem. Needless to say, they have my future business.

Jonah and Brian are great guys and they do everything within their power to accommodate. They have saved me quite a bit of money on repairs and parts, and do so with a smile and taking the time to explain any issues. This place definitely has the Elmwood Village feel, with poetry on the chalkboard, a mini-​library for those who want to wait, free wifi, and cheap prices. I recently had a sensor replaced that would have cost $ 450 at the dealer; Forest did it for $ 260.

Amazing experience! I haven’t had too bad of a time with mechanics, but after coming back from being out of the state for 9 months, I needed to get an inspection. The first place I went was vague on what I needed an told me it would cost $ 1,200. I came to Forest Auto for a quote on the part to see if they would be able to do it cheaper. At first it seemed like they could, but when they got it up and looked at my car, they told me that my car was in great shape and I shouldn’t have failed the inspection. The redid the inspection and got me out of there in no time. Went from thinking I was going to have to pay $ 1,200 to only $ 21.
Even though they were very busy, they made time for me, which I thought was superb! Great service and extremely friendly people!

The guys at Forest Auto have been very helpful with all of my car troubles for the last year. Not only are they friendly, but they will be completely honest and forthright about what they are doing to your ride, explaining it the best they can (especially to a person such as myself, who knows little about cars.)
When I had to replace a laundry list of things on my car, the price was reasonable, and the turn-​around time was only a day or two. Dudes even fixed my seatbelt after doing an oil change, without adding the cost of the repair to my bill! I had tried to fix that sucker for months before that!
Forest Automotive is an asset to the neighborhood — but I’d recommend them highly, regardless of where you live.

WOW. Jonah and his mechanics are excellent, friendly and affordable.
The crew explains in detail what they came across and fixed when they call you with their assessment, and reiterate on those points when you pick up your vehicle. They are very helpful and advise what to keep an eye on for future maintenance or visits to their business.
