DoubleTree by Hilton

This is a very nice hotel, but both the late evening and late morning wait staff in Cappuccinos café were zombies! Totally clueless as to what is going on around them. Both crews were in a fog, standing around while we were waiting to order, (after we got the only clean table in the place). In the morning when they deigned to come over to the table, they messed up orders, while continuing to walk their slow zombie walk. Needless to say, very disappointing service. :(

So I stayed here for one night. You can tell this is an older hotel and has been renovated however, this is where they went wrong… wall unit air conditioners, umm its 2016. The a/​c was so loud that it woke me up every time it turned on. My room was near the elevator and the housekeeping closet. Also, I ate at the hotel for lunch and breakfast the following day. It was pretty terrible. I’m not sure they make anything there just heat things up. I’ve stayed at plenty of double trees before and this is one of the most disappointing one. The staff was really friendly tho!

Happily surprised! Dog friendly hotels are not normally this nice until you get to the very high end and expensive range.
Lots of grass in the well lit parking lot. Big bonus for us.
The room was clean, bright, and inviting. We really appreciate that the dog rooms do not have carpet. The room was quiet. Smelled fresh and clean.
The bed was newer, didn’t sag. Very happy with the bed.
Bathroom was clean and newly renovated.
Bonus, food within walking distance.
When back in Buffalo we will stay here again.

Modern, helpful staff, but very small room and public areas — especially the restaurant. Shower only — no tub. Room looked clean, but when carefully looking at hardwood floor saw a bunch of cut toenails that were not mine. Would not stay here again.

Stayed one night before flying out. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. We were able to use the washing machine and dryer at the hotel across the way for free.

Stayed for 2 nights in a 2 room suite. Very nice. 2 queen beds in one room. Sofa bed, table w/​4 stools, refrigerator, microwave and sink in the other room. Beds were very comfortable. Pool was big, water temp perfect. Only 2 hot tub jets were working. Several of the exercise equipment out of order. Restaurant food was very good and reasonable.

The staff was very nice. But the room was Dirty! Used earplugs on the floor near the bed, grimy shower corners and when it was dusted, whoever did it just did a superficial job. I sat in the sun on the large windowsill, got up and had dust all over my butt. Very noisy also. We could plainly hear the conversation in the next room.

I had such a great experience here. Everyone was super nice. Clean room, everything fresh. I enjoyed using the (very small) gym and also the hot tub. The shuttle drivers were also friendly and really happy to take you anywhere within 5 miles. Quick pickup from airport. And, the bar/​restaurant is actually very good too! The only thing I did not enjoy was the Starbucks latte in the morning — that was terrible (and undrinkable). But overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. (Note: I had a $ 99/​night corporate rate.)

We have a large room with a sofa bed, desk & chair, coffee table, shower and lots of lamps. Each lamp has places for two plugs, so charging devices is easy. Pool and hot tub are well lit, clean and full of chairs and tables as well as lots of towels. Really enjoying the pool!
Surprised not to find a fridge in our room. Also no idea why there is not a free breakfast being served in the AM. Could this be true at the price of this room? I hope I’m wrong. Nope. No free breakfast!
One more observation… When staying more than one night, I take a hand towel and cover my Bi-​pap face mask so it remains germ free during the day. This is the only hotel (and we’ve stayed many nights in many cities) that the maid removed the towel. Did she think I was stealing it? Why else take it off???

I’m very confused by the super low ratings! We’ve been staying here for years & view this property as our home away from home. Super close to U at Buffalo, friendly staff & clean rooms. What else could a business traveler want?

Meh I stay a hiltons brand quite often and I think this one is best summed up as trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It’s just not typical for the brand. I half think this is an older property they are trying to make a double tree. Breakfast was odd for sure not a typical quick buffet it was a coffee café that took orders. Not a huge deal just odd. Also the room I had was with a horrible draft from the ac unit. I’d probably stay somewhere else if I’m back

DoubleTree by Hilton works if you find yourself in Amherst.
Work brought me to Buffalo and I was put up at DoubleTree by Hilton for a weeks worth of nights. Honestly, it wasn’t a bad experience. The free wifi clocked in at 5 MB download, the water was always hot, the rooms clean, the HD is 720i or better and the towels are stocked deep. They offer a shuttle service that is free of charge and will take you anywhere within a 5 mile perimeter, which came in quite useful as did the Bar area after long days.
I wouldn’t be against a return visit if travels brought me back to Northern Buffalo.

It’s an ok place. It was much better 6 years ago when it was The Indigo. It’s a small boutique type hotel. Rooms are a bit small because of all the furniture that is squeezed in the room, (coffee table, desk, chair, couch, fridge/​microwave). Its a bit run down, but still one of the nicer hotels in the area.
Pros: Free Cookies!, Bar open until midnight, room service until, 11pm, very soft comfortable bed, very friendly staff.
Cons: Walls are thin (could hear conversations/​tv from the next room), hallway lights shine brightly into the room through large gaps around doorframe.
Biggest problem: Fox did not work on the TV. And this wasn’t just in my room. Not sure how you don’t carry a major TV network. Had to leave my room and watch the football game from the bar.
Verdict: don’t mind staying here, but I prefer the Homewood Suites which is also a Hilton hotel and it’s only about a mile further out.

I enjoyed my star here it was very comfortable and clean. They had delicious cookies they provided the guest and a nice bar down stairs.
We came during a hockey youth tournament and they were all upstairs on our floor I do admit they were a bit wild and loud however the hotel made it clear by 9:00pm they would have them settle and maintain noise discipline and they did exactly that.
The shuttle service was great and very convenient although I do admit it takes them quit a while to arrive but while we waited the front desk clerk provided us with a complimentary drink for the inconvenience.

I stayed at this hotel in early February for a couple of days due to work. For a hotel snob like myself, I had no problem with this place other than having to be in Buffalo in the middle of winter. My room was updated and it was clean enough for a 3 star hotel. Sure you could find flaws if you went around the room inspecting it with a magnifying glass, but seriously why drive yourself crazy. This is not the Ritz by all means, heck if i wanted to, i could find flaws at the Ritz, too.
My hotel stay rule of thumb, cover the remote with the plastic bag that’s provided for ice, don’t use the glasses in the room nor the coffee maker, wear flip flops in the shower, remove the top of the comforter immediately upon entering the room. If you cover all the basics, unless the hotel is seriously disgusting (which I don’t feel this place is), people should cut this place some slack.

This was originally known as the «Double D by Paris Hilton», but it was pointed out that Paris only has As (or Bs?) so that name was changed. Instead of becoming the Double A, or Double B, they just decided to go an entirely different route, and get more of a family-​oriented clientele rather than a charge-​by-​the-​hour clientele, and they did that by making it more environmentally friendly, i.e. by having the word tree in the name.
I won’t tell you why I was here because then I would have to kill you. Or something. But let’s just say I stayed here with «someone» at «some point» in the last «certain length of time». For the price paid, the room didn’t smell particularly great… and the service was at best cold and distant. Someone said «after reading many reviews, we chose this…» if you read the reviews on this place I’m not sure why you would. (shrug).

Hilton, you should be ashamed of yourself! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in as far cleanliness. 3.5* hotel, really?! I think the Motel 6 down the street is better than this place. Seriously. Here’s the story —
Check-​in was great; friendly staff, cookies, we were «up-​graded» to floor 4 for being HiltonHonor members. Dropped our bags at the room, I wasn’t crazy about the floor being some cheap laminate and the walls being white, it made the room feel sterile and cold. But we were only staying one night, I can get through one night, right? It’s a Hilton, how bad can it be?! Read on!
We headed out for dinner. Upon returning, I noticed our door handle to the room was dirty with lots of smudges where food residue was left. Let me just say this before I go on. We are on a 10 day trip celebrating our 25^th anniversary and this was our last night before we flew home. I was really trying to enjoy it. I didn’t want to take away from my time to complain or make a big deal about the room. But I couldn’t stand it; hair in the bathroom, hair and dirt all along the edge of the floor, shampoo drippings on the shower wall, I moved the couch and let me just say it wasn’t pretty, the mattress had a plastic cover over it (I don’t think that’s ever a good sign)! I know this might sound picky to some, but even the top of the picture frames, the TV, the lamps and shades, etc hadn’t seen a cleaning rag ever. The mirrors were left with the rag residue. The night stand had spots all over it maybe from soda or something that had dripped or sprayed. The list goes on! I called the front desk just to complain; I was convinced there was not a clean room in this hotel that they could move me, I just thought they should know how uncomfortable I was. The supervisor on duty assured me they had a better room and she would inspect it herself. They brought up the keys, we moved down one floor (from our up-​graded HH floor). I thought for sure the supervisor would call to make sure we were doing alright in the new room, she never did.
Again, wanting to try my best to enjoy my last night on vacation, I kept my eyes closed and wanted to ignore it all, BUT you can’t get away from the hair and dirt in this place. The toilet! There’s a long list of dirty, disgusting things in this «cleaner» room and I’m grossed out. And yes, I’ve taken pictures.
Disappointed doesn’t even describe my feelings. This is a bait & switch! I thought I was getting a Hilton Doubletree 3.5* hotel and instead I’m staying in a Motel 666. Yes, it’s that bad.
You’ll never guess. As I’m writing this review, another guest just unlocked our room door and tried to enter!!! They never switched us to this room in their computers. It’s 11:45pm and the horror story continues.
The best I can say about this hotel, all the staff members have been apologetic. Everything else, it’s been miserable, just miserable. This Hilton Doubletree has single handedly ruined my last night of what was a perfect vacation.

It started off well– we got free shuttle service from the Depew Train station in their cute cookie logoed van.
Greeted by super sweet girls for check in and got nice warm chocolate chip cookies (one of the reasons i love DT so much!)
Got connecting rooms as requested.
One we got to the rooms, it was just really odd. I did read some of these things online on trip advisor, but i guess it didn’t really sink in how strange everything was until i got there.
This is not your typical doubletree hotel. It was a remodeled hotel, which they stated, so i wasn’t sure why i still booked here. Those damn cookies.
They have hard wood floors which squeeked with our shoes (good thing we brought slippers).
No Bath, but a half shower. It really bothered me that you hang your towel to dry yourself IN THE SHOWER. It doesn’t get wet cuz the bar is at the end, but it just didn’t feel right. lol.
The lighting in the bathroom was very dim. and the Sink was OUTSIDE with literally no counter space. You get the usual crabtree and evelyn toiletries, but there hardly any room to put your makeup bags. I dont’ see how 4 people could stay in one room all together comfortably like this…
The beds were really high. Good thing our TV worked, as others complained of that, and we got plenty of good channels, even NFL network and HBO.
I wouldn’t have minded some of these things if it were not a Hilton Hotel, but the real stickler was that the room was NOT CLEAN.
When i opened the shower, i saw about 5 – 6 long hairs which were clearly visible.
It freaked me out and i went to inspect the bed which also had a few stray hairs. I just felt really dirty. They fixed things up, but it just left me uncomfortable most of the stay.
The staff were all super nice but i just wished that my room had been cleaned more thoroughly so i wasn’t wigging out and could have gotten a better nights sleep.
Hopefully this was a fluke.

We stayed here for 5 nights for a wedding with our family. The first night I smelled natural gas just out side of the elevator on floor 2. I called for service, and they sent three people to investigate. They claimed they did not smell it, but I could still smell it a little bit. They thought it was a backdraft from the roof. The rest of our trip I didn’t smell it.
We brought our two small kids and found that all the rooms do not have tubs in them!
They remedied this by providing a baby plastic tub. It wasn’t ideal, but I have them an A for trying. It worked!
This hotel is very clean and the staff treated us well. They have wonderful shampoo honey and mint that we all really liked!
This hotel is close to shopping centers on Niagara Falls Blvd. We went to Starbucks daily and even enjoyed visiting Niagara Falls State Park.

Nestled with the Marriott, the Red Roof Inn and the Candlewood suites, the Doubletree looks fairly extravagant, and fairly new.
The rooms are decent, new-​ish fixtures, no carpet (kinda weird with the hardwood floors), Wolfgang Puck coffee and tea, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries.
We were happy enough with the room until early in the morning around 6 am when we heard EVERYTHING in the room next to us, in the hallway, down the hallway etc. The walls and doors are FAR too thin. In fact, I could hear an entire conversation from a family deciding what time and where to go for breakfast. Too much.
So if you’re a light sleeper like me, when booking this hotel, be sure to ask for a room away from other people because you will be disturbed easily.
On the plus side, the cookies as always are warm and delicious!
