My friend Del has no idea how to fix Cameras. So I had to make Del Aware that this place does the job. Although the turnaround time makes me wonder if they should be renamed«Delay-ware.» I last came here about 9 months ago to get headphones fixed. Before that, they helped me with a laptop maybe a few months earlier than that. They’ve been fantastic with me and the service is excellent. I have no qualms giving them a hearty 4 stars. This little electronics shop fixed my headphones for a dirt cheap price and were very friendly about it. It took a day or two, and I really needed them within an hour or two, but at the amazing price I wasn’t going to complain. Really lovely little place that embarrasses all of the«big name» chain places that would have charged me 5 times as much.

Frustrated with my lack of camera skills, I stopped in a few weeks ago to get some guidance on how to actually get good pictures out of my new DSLR camera. I’ve already tried reading a few books and have gotten pretty frustrated with my consistent inability in using the camera well. They suggested I try one of their classes at the store. I signed up for 3 classes(1 hour /$ 20 each) on using my camera. I have been to 2 of the 3 classes so far and it has been a tremendous investment. Our instructor, Sara is super helpful and is clearly highly experienced in photography. Having someone to ask questions to is so much better than trying to decipher it from a book. In addition, she knew(from memory) where every setting on each person’s camera was without looking at the cameras. I’m really excited to start using my new knowledge, and now have a lot more confidence that the next set of vacation photos will actually be worth looking at when I get home.

I stopped into this location to get a couple of things I needed for a shoot in a pinch. They had them, and for the same prices that I found them at «discount» retailers on-line. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for?

I consider myself pretty well organized. Even if my desk is in a state of mass clutter, i know what is on it and what isn’t. I pride myself on not losing simple things: keys, coupons, sunglasses and jewelry. It is by sticking to habits of putting things where they go that I think I can consider myself an organized success. Because of this self arrogance, it is hard for me to swallow the fact that I *misplaced* my camera charger. And admit that in the 5 years of owning my camera, this will be the THIRD charger I will own.(The first one was completely out of my hands, as it was left in the wall of a rented mountain condo when I had to abruptly depart the resort of Big Sky as my husband was whisked away by ambulance to Bozeman for the next 12 days following a pretty bad ski accident. And leaving my amazingly dear friends to pack up our belongings, I can’t count that charger left in the wall a fault by any of us.) But this… this is what I despise. The charger should be in my camera bag and it is not. And since I’m the only one to really use the camera equipment… I have no one to blame except myself. So… emergency trip to Delaware Camera and Video while I discover this situation while out of town visiting friends and family for a Wedding weekend. Bridgette was an amazing wealth of knowledge, as our convo quickly turned from charger replacements to camera lenses — a project I’ve been dragging my feet with — and at the end of our 45 minutes together, I had the opportunity to try a few new lenses on my Canon as well as mull over her recommendations for the types of photos I like to take. And I can now say that I’m the proud owner of a very cool charger(hopefully 3rd charger is the charm) as well as a new lens for my camera. Hopefully I will only need to return here when I’m ready to add another lens… not another charger!
