Buffalo State College-State University of New York

Buffalo State College is an amazing school. There are a lot of dedicated professors that will hwlp you do the bwst you can and tons of clubs and activities to get involved in. Buffalo State College created many places to go so to help students succeed. They have a place to help people’s business succeed, very helpful resource area in the library, an amazing computer lab, and brand new buildings; that were just finished the fall of 2014. One thing most students will say that is negative is that parking is tough. You will never be with out a parking spot, but if you do not get there early in the day, than you might have to park farther away. I hope you enjoy Buffalo State College as much as I did.

Definitely not the best local college, but it has a good Childhood Education program. I’ve been to a few colleges (started at SUNY Geneseo, then NCCC, then Le Cordon Bleu in Boston), and this is probably ranked ²⁄₄. Everyone in my major is friendly, and the professors are helpful. The 3 advisors I’ve worked with know everything there is to know about the coursework, although I haven’t heard great things about some of the other advisors.
The Union seems to be improving, and the food is good but not great. There is a burger place (small burgers, but good fries), a salad place (pretty decent, but expensive), a Subway, a pizza place (their pizza is meh), a Salsaritas, a sushi place (never any raw sushi, which is a negative for me), a Jamaican food place, a Spot Coffee, and a Starbucks (in the Barnes & Noble in the Union). I haven’t tried the resident dining, as I live off campus. One perk is that almost every day, Lloyd food truck is parked on Cleveland Circle, right outside of the Union. This pretty much saves the food on campus, because Lloyd is the best.
The library is huge, and there’s almost always a computer available to use. Printers break once in a while, but there are several printing stations. There’s also a small café area in the library and they sell bubble tea and other small treats.
Parking is atrocious. You either have to park in visitor parking (which is pay parking), or park a lifetime away. When parking far in the winter, it gets freezing (obviously, it’s winter) and feels like you’re walking in a wind tunnel. That’s usually when I choose to fork up some money for visitor parking, because I hate the cold.
Overall, a decent SUNY school for the price.

The campus is currently under an overhaul, taking it from an urban campus with a crumbling infrastructure to a modern style, tech friendly, bike friendly campus. Bricks, public art and a pretty funky student union.
Professors and students are not the best, but the atmosphere is warm and fun. It’s basically an open admissions college, but the experiences and location make up for the lack of prestige. You get out what ya put in eh? I love being here.
