Specialties

We make sourdough artisan and sandwich bread, boiled bagels, and granola. You can find them at restaurants and stores, via farmers markets, and as a weekly bread share program, the Crust Belt. (Stores that carry our products are listed on our website.) We are a wholesale bakery — no café, but we do have a walk-​up window!

History

Established in 2014.

We opened our doors on April 1, 2014 after baking bread part-​time for several years. BreadHive is a worker co-​operative: the workers own the business. We seek to provide Buffalo with bread that is both healthy and delicious, using at least 50% regional organic flour in every hand-​formed loaf and bagel.

Val is our newest owner. She does it all: baking, managing the Crust Belt, running the show at Bagels & Brooze and doing a lot of dreaming and scheming for the future. We’re lucky to have her as a partner!
