Artone’s Pizza & Subs

Walked in to good music and the staff smiling. Food is to die for. Very polite and clean. I would recommend it to anyone!!!

I haven’t ordered here in years. I heard they reopened and wanted to give them a shot even though there are alot of South Buffalo pizza places these days and the vast majority of them suck. Fake cheese, little or no sauce, or pepperoni so thin you can see through it. I ordered a small cheese and pepperoni and a single order of bbq fingers. I was really surprised by the quality of the pizza. It was delicious. I am about to order one for tonight’s Bills vs. Patriots game and was reminded to leave a review. Fingers too were delicious. If they keep up the deliciousness they will be the best pizza place in South Buffalo. Go Bills!

When Artone’s closed its doors several years ago, the elation and cholesterol levels of South Buffalonians sank overnight. The neighborhood felt thrust back into the dark ages of flavorless, unsatisfying food sub shops and corner food marts.
I’m very pleased to report that Artone’s is open again! It’s under new ownership, but from what I gathered it is the same recipe, ingredients and cooking/​preparation as the old Artone’s. Although I can’t really remember exactly how good the steak hoagies used to be at Artone’s — It has been years since I or anyone has had one — I can tell you that the only beat the new steak hoagie model skips was of my upper right ventricle in my heart (don’t worry, Mercy hospital is a short drive away).
Artone’s steak hoagies are just the right amount of gooeyness to greasiness ratio of cheese and beef, with an ample amount of perfectly sautéed peppers and onions rolled into a soft sub roll and topped with a special sauce. You can’t say you’ve ran the gauntlet of Buffalonian food until you’ve had one, so go get to it.

A new owner recently purchased Artones, so I had to check it out.
This place still has the best steak pizza and steak hoagies in south buffalo!
They have also updated the menu to include a new stuffed hot pepper pizza and other specialty pizza and subs.
I highly recommend ordering from here!

Whenever I go back to Buffalo to visit my family I always get an Artones steak sub! You can’t beat them they are the best in the world and I’ve been around but I’ve not been to Philly so I can’t compare. Theirs are just so good and full of meat and goodies it’s hard to eat them. BRAVO ARTONES!

I tried a pizza from here the other day and was not impressed. Got it with Sausage and Green Olives, which were fine, but the pizza itself had an off taste, which seemed to be from the dough, as in my opinion it was a little under cooked. My son also thought it was spicy so he wouldn’t eat it. Spice seemed to be more from the sauce than the pepperoni. My wife whom likes a spicier sauce however thought the pizza was good. So to each their own. Service from call-​in to pickup was pretty standard.

I just wanted to up date my original review… After going back several times I would like to give this place a solid 9 out of 10 stars… They make my steak hoagie exactly how I ask for it every time… I like the steak diced up fine, and they do it perfect every time… I also ask for a little extra steak oil… If anything they could put a little more cheese, onions, and peppers on it… Not a deal breaker though… I just order extra cheese… Been going here almost weekly now… Guess you could say I’m hooked.
I’m bumping them from 4 stars to 5… The guy who takes me order actually listens, and makes my order exactly how I ask every time… Appreciate the good customer service here on top of the great steak hoagie !
