Wow, what a great evening seeing A Christmas Carol ! It was so well done! Small cast and 99 seat theater was perfect for plays. What talent we have here in Buffalo! Loved the Carolers and John Smeathers! I am so glad I got to see him in his last season. The whole cast was superb. Hope you dont miss this special holiday performance! I look forward to attending more plays there in the future.

As the namesake says, this small stage theater is in an alleyway. It’s a hidden gem and they showcase off-off-off Broadway type shows. I saw Buffalo Quickies there last month and it was a riot. One of the more memorable skits was As You Liked It where the premise revolves around The Addison Dewitt Memorial Academy of Dramatic Criticism motto of «Say what you mean and be mean when you say it» and they really mean it! Side Note– Buffalo Quickies is an annual stage event with six short one act plays in less than 90 minutes. Ticket prices here are reasonable and there are no ticket service charges! Some plays even boast a Pay-What-You-Can night. The box office is small and run by volunteers. I got a Groupon ticket deal here and had no hassle issues redeeming it at the post office. The theater itself seats about 80 and is a very intimate small stage production. As the website boasts — «There are few theatres left in the country truly committed to doing new plays, and Buffalo is very fortunate to have one of the most adventurous in Alleyway.» –Mike Folie, playwright
