Description

Specialties

Acropolis has been around since 1982. Recently, it has transformed itself into an authentic Greek restaurant with a genuine focus on authentic Greek entrees including Papoutsakia, Mousaka, Pastitsio, Gemista, Lamb chops; and soups like avgolemono (chicken lemon rice) and faki (lentil).

Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night bar.

On tap at the bar are seasonal favorites from Brooklyn and Wolavers along with staples like Flying Bison’s Rusty Chain, Old Speckled Hen, Southern Tier IPA, Stella, and Weihenstephan.

History

Established in 1982.

Acropolis opened up shop on the Elmwood Strip in 1982 by Greek immigrants John and Effe Tsouflidis. For 28 years they operated the business as a diner serving the neighborhood a great variety of foods that you could only get from a traditional diner.

In 2010, their son Paul Tsouflidis took over the reigns and completely renovated the diner into a Greek Bistro look with an open kitchen and a bifolding door entry that opens up the restaurant to the street.

In late 2011, Acropolis OPA will transform once again into Acropolis OPA Lounge with the addition of the second floor dining space including a copper concrete bartop, private lounge rooms, and patio.
