There was nothing special about this place. Services were average. Receptionists were very rude. I accompanied my wife here and felt that employees definitely need to get some training in customer service.

Went to Fatima for a Brazilian wax and she is absolutely incredible! Such a sweet, funny woman who wants you to feel as comfortable as possible. She if wonderful! Best waxing experience and she made it as painless as she could, especially compared to the last time I got waxed (100% better experience here at glamour salon)

Yesterday was the first time I came to this salon and I definitely liked it! Personnel is very friendly and joyful, the atmosphere is warm! My stylist — Marina did a great job! I loved my haircut so much, it was exactly what I wanted! She is a real professional, I recommend her to everyone without any doubt! I’m sure that I’ll never go anywhere else since this moment! She is the best!

I have been going to Lala for years! She has a talent with hair! I can always depend on her to stay up to date with the trendy haircuts. I can tell how dedicated she is to her job, she loves what she does and she sure is so freaking good at it! She is very friendly and super funny! Very soft hands and she actually listens to what you would like for her to get done. I am so happy I have her, I travel from downtown just to see Lala! God bless that woman’s heart and hands!

Margaret and her team are so very warm and caring. I always feel like I’m visiting good friends, not just getting my hair done.
I love the atmosphere and I’m so happy with my new stylist Agnes. She is very fast, efficient and absolutely lovely! Actually, it’s been my third time with her and I highly recommend her to everyone who wants to look like a Goddess. ^_​^ I always get exactly what I want. Was looking for a new salon in the area and chose to come here because it has the best reviews. I honestly do not understand the hype about this place.
Came in for a haircut and blow dry. My stylist spent a lot of time on layering my hair, which I appreciated, so I believe the cut is ok. I shouldn’t have wasted my time on the blow out because I walked out of there looking worse than when I do my hair myself (and trust me I am terrible at it). She didn’t use any product before blow drying and I ended up looking like a poofy frizzy mess. At that point I had been in there for 1.5 hours and was tired of having my hair pulled, so I just wanted to leave.
I don’t review often but am really disappointed by my experience. Everyone was nice and the receptionist gave me $ 5 off since it was my first time there. But I am used to leaving the salon with a blow dry that is sleek and shiny. I know my hair is thick and a bit difficult to work with, but this has never happened to me before. Overall I’m just really confused and will be going elsewhere next time.

Read this before getting waxed! I have been here for Karla for hair and she is incredible. Don’t judge her on this review.
I called and made an appointment with Fatima as she had great reviews. When I arrived, she was running 20 min late but no big deal. Once I got into the tiny room, I could see how cluttered and unorganized it was. I had to put my clothes on the counter and floor because there wasn’t a dedicated space. Then once Fatima started she asked me to bend my knees on the table so she could place the wax bowl in between my feet. WHY? Because she used the SAME STICK to apply wax for every application, every appointment, EVERY PERSON! I swear this has to be illegal for estheticians. She should be shut down for this violation. Sure she can angle a bikini strip to be symmetrical, but you might catch a skin disease or infection for it. She even had trouble applying the wax since it had an inch thick layer dry wax already stuck to both sides of the stick. Disgusting.
Do more research and go somewhere else.

I’ve been going to Lala for a couple years. She is a great stylist! I always get complements on my hair style and my color. Last time I got balayage ombré and totally love my new look. She is awesome. What I like about Lala is that she loves what she does and she takes classes to learn new techniques and keep up with the trending styles. I recommend her to all my friends.

Go see Fatima, she is the best! Her prices are very reasonable, she is very detailed, and she knows what she is doing. She makes you feel comfortable within minutes of meeting her (which I think is important since you’ll be getting half naked)…

I didn’t get the chance to get my haircut because they were very busy (which is a good sign). However, the receptionist was getting HER hair done, which does not reflect well on a business model.
Get your hair done when you’re off the clock.

Fatima is the BEST EVER! I got a Brazilian for my birthday (idk why I decided to give myself a painful gift but whatever) and I was scared as all hell. Fatima made me laugh and after two strips it stopped hurting and was just uncomfortable. The first time is always the worst and she made me a believer. From wearing yoga pants a girl can get ingrown hairs, Fatima takes them out for you! YEP! And she teaches you how to keep them away for good! I love this lady!

I dont understand the hype on this place. The people on the phone are rude and not willing to understand their customers. the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. it’s the same amount to touch up an inch of hair at the roots and to color the ENTIRE head. I definitely think there should be a break for those just looking to do the roots. NOT even going to try this!

So I must say, this place had great reviews for the esthetician, but almost nothing about their other services. I figured no bad reviews must mean they do a decent job. My experience was as follows:
Arrived at 8:50 for a 9:00am appointment with Beth. I was not greeted for 15 minutes, at which point I was told my stylist was not there. Nothing on the receptionist, she was friendly and apologetic, and may be the owner. At 9:20 I finally met my stylist. I explained to her what I wanted: as many blonde highlights as possible and the slightest trim to clean up the ends. I asked to see a color book because I tended to like a cooler blonde color. She was extremely friendly, but I admit I have a hard time trusting that someone to be detail oriented when they are 20 minutes late for an appointment…
After our consultation she left to get color (I never saw the color book), and returned with one tub of what was apparently bleach. I was really nervous about this because as I explained to Beth, I FRY my hair daily, and it lightens naturally. This being said I was hesitant to go the bleach route. She began foiling my hair, and pulled so hard I was squirming in my chair. After 15 minutes she was done… I felt the back of my head and realized she had only highlighted the top. I asked her why and she said «oh I thought you wanted partial highlights». Still patient I responded «no, all over highlights…». At this point I’m annoyed, I made an appointment for full highlights and I thought «as many blonde highlights as possible» would prompt her to ask about a full foil or half if she was unsure. After she finished the remainder of my hair she asked me to move to the reception area, so that she could cut someone else’s hair. The reception area was in the front of the salon, and I found it awkward and unprofessional to have clients booted to the waiting area while their hair processes. I started to freak out about how long the bleach has been on the top part of my hair while she was busy with the other girl, but finally she came to check my hair. The receptionist/​owner (or manager) washed out the color, then sent me back to the reception area with a towel on my head to wait some more. At this point it’s 10:45, and I had not seen my hair color, or started my cut. The rest of the appointment was ok… Good blowout, color was blended nicely on top but super splotchy in the back… cut was quick.
All in all, finished hair was ok, but the process to get there was not worth it.

Long story short, if you want a men’s haircut from someone who knows what they are doing go see Gion/​John. I have been looking for a barber in my neighborhood for a while and I will not go anywhere else again. Fantastic attention to detail, makes you feel comfortable, and gets the haircut exactly the way you want it!

Fatima is the best! The salon is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming! Prices are reasonable, too! A definite must if you’re hunting for a place to get a wax

I’m going to jump on the bandwagon to review Fatima at Glamour Salon. I’ve been seeing her for Brazilian waxing for about a year now. I moved here from San Diego and was used to paying around $ 30 for a good Brazilian with the hard wax (which I actually prefer). I had a difficult time trying to find a quality, affordable waxing place in the suburbs until I met Fatima. Her prices are more than fair when compared with any other salon and she always tries to fit you into her schedule. I’m a difficult client because I am always changing my appointment at the last-​minute but Fatima always accommodates me. She’s a warm, friendly wonderful person and is great at what she does! Don’t spend $ 50+ for a painful, sloppy Brazilian somewhere else. Come to Glamour and Fatima will take care of you.

I found this place when I was searching for a waxing salon to try my first Brazilian. When I saw others on Facebook asking if Fatima worked there and that «She is the best!», I figured she must be good. When I called to make an appointment, Fatima gave me some tips about what I should do before the appointment.
I don’t have any other waxing experiences to compare this to, but I think Fatima is excellent. The room is always very clean and she takes extra time to tweeze out stray or ingrown hairs. She also does an excellent job of helping to minimize the pain.
Possibly the most important reason why I keep going back is because Fatima is always kind and courteous. Taking the time to get to know your customers is a big sticking point for me and she definitely does a great job.
If you are looking to try waxing, I can’t recommend Fatima enough!

I moved from the city and was terrified to try a new place for a Brazilian Wax. After reading the reviews, I decided to go to Fatima. OMG! I love her and I found my all-​time favorite esthetician! She is THE BEST! If it’s your first time trying a wax you should definitely go here. Fatima is funny and speaks to you throughout the process to make sure you’re comfortable.
A lot of women worry about the pain. I’ve had waxes before so I know what pain is when it comes to a Brazilian. Go to Fatima and trust me, you’ll forget what you were worried about in the first place. The most important thing for me is cleanliness (esp.for a Brazilian!). I went into the room and it was sparkling clean– not a hair on the floor, a drop of wax on the ground or anything out of place (very impressive!). When I asked her about her methods, she told me that she follows all the hygiene rules laid out by the IL Department of Health. Another thing, she picked each loose hair with a forceps once she was done with the waxing. She truly is a professional and knows what she’s doing!
She’s painless, clean, comfortable and fun! Ladies, give Fatima a try and you’ll surly love her and the Brazilian!
