We always try to stop by here when we’re at Knott’s Berry Farm. Located near the entrance of Ghost Town, the Geode Shop is always a fun place to visit when we’re at the park. We always look at the geodes out in front first. On our last visit here, the friendly employee helped us find the prettiest geode for the price. With prices ranging from about $ 10 to over $ 100, you really get what you pay for. While the cheapest geodes tend to be solid inside, we found a mid-priced one that was beautiful once opened. It’s fun to pick out a geode and watch the employee cut it in half so we can see what’s inside. Inside the tiny store is equally cool. Full of rocks, minerals, and fossils, we love looking at all the beautiful items. There’s this amazing amethyst in the case that’s so pretty. With a huge price tag of almost $ 20,000, I think it will hopefully remain in the store for a while. There is also some really cool fossils and dinosaur bones that are truly memorable. I also like looking at all the pretty jewelry and a small section devoted to old coins and copper and silver bars. If you are a rock or mineral collector or just like looking at all the cool fossils, this is a fun little store to visit when in Ghost Town at Knott’s Berry Farm!

My son’s favorite place to stop at Knott’s. He loves picking a rock to cut open and gets sooo excited to see what’s inside. He stares at his rocks in amazement all the way home and it’s peaked his interest to ask geology questions that lead to us researching more.

This place turned me onto rock collecting. It’s actually very amazing how these geodes form and are found. I recommend this place in knotts to anyone. I love it will continue to buy geodes from here to build my collection.

Probably my fave place in the whole park! My kids love this place and so do I! Besides the fact that the little shop pumps out cold air on hot days, this shop is fun. There are beautiful rocks and geodes that you can purchase and other cool gems. Every time we come, my kids HAVE to buy a geode to be cut open. They have gotten some beautiful smoky quartz. The process is fun and always draws a crowd. Don’t miss this shop next time you’re at Knotts!

This is a pretty rockin store that’s located in the Ghost Town part of Knott’s Berry Farm close to the entrance of the park. Here you will find an abundance of minerals for sale most of which have been shaped or polished already or ones that are straight from the ground! There is also a section of autographs from some of your favorite celebrities who have visited the park which is pretty cool to check out. One of the most awesome things here has to be the vault that holds the dinosaur egg fossils I keep hoping that one day they will hatch and a baby dinosaur will take over the park… But yeah I guess ill have to keep dreaming on that one! I’m kind of a geology nerd and have always been fascinated by the beautiful minerals that the earth has created over time it’s just crazy what time pressure and extreme heat can create! What makes this shop stand out is the fact that you can pick your own geode from the cart and get it cut open to see all the beauty that nature has created for you! The best part of this is that the majority of the geodes are decently priced so anyone can afford them! Over the years we’ve boughten many geodes here and have ended up with some pretty awesome rocks that sit on the mantel at home! There is also a little coin machine here where you can end up with a pretty cool mineral if your lucky or something even better if your really lucky and get the special one! Also don’t forget that if your a Knott’s season pass holder you get a discount on your rocks! So if you love geology or want to learn a bit more about it check this shop out as I’ve always found that the staff here is very knowledgeable about the minerals and pretty good at answering any questions you might have. See you around the farm!

The Geode Shop is located in Knott’s Berry Farm near the entrance of the Ghost Town. They have a great display room filled with fossils, minerals, dinosaur eggs, bones and meteorites from world wide locations. Geodes are their specialty at the shop. What is a geode? They started their lives 100 million years ago as solid looking rugged rocks. Hallowed and lined with quartz crystals on the inside. They vary in size from a baseball to several feet wide. One large geode in the shop once belonged to Steve Wynn and was on display in one of his Las Vegas hotels. His wife snatched it in their divorce and found a willing buyer in the Geode Shop. An antique miner’s cart loaded with a variety of uncut geodes for sale sits in front of the store. Buy one and they’ll cut it open and explain to you what you see inside. One of the shops biggest sellers is copralite, the scientific name for fossilized dinosaur poop. One sample even bears a footprint of one dinosaur who wasn’t careful where he stepped. I’ve always liked this shop. It’s interesting to view museum quality fossils for sale. I stop by to look around every time we’re in KBF and am always amazed at what I see.

The Geode shop at Knott’s is one of my absolute favorite things about this park. Ever noticed the guy sitting out front of the store with a big wooden trough full of ugly rocks and wonder, what in the hell? Well inside those ugly rocks are geodes. Beautiful wonderful geodes. Sometimes you’ll just get a beautiful pattern, sometimes you’ll get crystals. Each rock is priced differently, from 5 dollars up to hundreds of dollars. Pick your price and pick your geode and the will cut it open right then and there for you to see what you got. I’ve bought countless geodes there and still everytime I go I get another one. Big props to the guys who work there as they are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about their product. I like just hanging out there watching what other people get. The store inside is also a must see. From dinosaur fossils, to bugs caught in amber to giant crystal filled geodes worth thousands of dollars, its got it all.
