Rodeway Inn Near Maingate Knott’s

Clean room, good friendly service and no real complaints! It’s exactly what you would expect for an inn of this type. No, it’s not a five star hotel, but for a clean place to stay close to Knotts Berry Farm it is perfect! Not sure what all the bad reviewers were expecting here. My only gripe was the continental breakfast really sucked, but whatever. There is an Ihop right next door.
We had a great stay and a ton of fun at Knott’s. Would stay again for sure!

I usually like staying at Rodeway Inn throughout my travels… This place is so outdated, FILTHY n we saw a cockroach there was a huge whole in the box spring 92 $ a night I had to keep going to the front desk to get my key reactivated people getting high in pool bathroom police frequent here so sad… just a terrible experience!

Clean hotel room and bathroom for being a motel. It was better than we expected and across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm. Even after we checked out of the room the front desk allowed us to stay parked at the hotel until after we finished are long day at the park so we didn’t have to pay the extra money. There was also an iHop next door and we were able to walk over there as well for breakfast. Great memorable experience for a fraction of the cost. We will come back again

Well, it has a bed… And the location is perfect for what we were doing… Which is the reason for 2 stars versus the 1 I wanted to give. But enough with the positive… Haha.
The door had a gap on top and on bottom which let in SO much light the room never got remotely dark. Both nights there were people pounding on the floor above us and there were not enough pillows for me to put one over my head to drown the sound out.
The bath towels felt like sandpaper. Not a pleasant way to dry off a naked, freshly clean body. The shower head itself, the way it sprayed the water was almost painful honestly.
I smacked my head on the towel rack 2 times because it is so damn close to the entrance to the shower. It’s called placement people! Placement!
The pool was, well, a pool. It had water. The water was cool. It cooled down my husband and son for a while. But, there were bugs and WAY too much chlorine. When my husband got out of the pool he looked stoned off his ass his eyes were so red.
When got back from Medieval Times (hence why the location was perfect) on Sunday night and entered the hallway, we were greeted by a nice turd. Yep. You read that right, there was a poop nugget right there in all its glory.
Let’s see… What else?
There was a fridge with freezer, microwave and little coffee pot, which was nice.
There are no bedbugs, which was nice.
They did have a continental breakfast, which was nice. I didn’t partake of this myself, but my husband took my son and my son was given two Lipton tea bags by an obviously strung out patron. Awesome.

I was nervous from past reviews but first impression staff very nice, room also turned out to be nice, near everything even the maid turned out to be very nice, I would stay here again reasonably price

Been here several times.
You get what you pay for. If I ever have several $ 100s I’ll stay in another place mean while I’ll just stay here.

It’s not a 5 star stay but it’s clean and the gentleman at the counter is very nice.

My daughter booked with Priceline. I stayed here with my daughter and my grandkids and this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Our room was on the second floor so my daughter asked if they have elevators or if they have any rooms on the first floor, The answer was NO. I am not wheel chaired bound but if I was we would have been screwed. We walked into our room and their were cleaning supplies on the dresser and the bed was not completely made up. My daughter tried calling down to the lobby, The phone did not work so she used her cell phone to call the front desk and she told them the room was not completed. The manager came upstairs and brought us another key for another room. So we packed and moved to another room. The TV only received one channel and the volume reached a certain level and no more, The WIFI was horrible even though you had 4 or 5 choices. I would watch a TV how online and it should only take 43 minutes to watch an hour show, It would take me 60 minutes or more.
When I woke up to go eat the continental breakfast. They had dried un moist muffins, 2 type of kiddie cereal, wheat bread for toast, and OJ, No pastries, oatmeal or fruit. I went back to the room and I heard my daughter screaming and she told me that there was a dead lizard, yes, your heard me correctly, A DEAD LIZARD In her 8 year olds her, She went to call down to the front desk. GUESS WHAT? The phone did not work. This is the 2^nd room were the room phone did not work. My daughter took the dead lizard in a cup to show the manager and he asked her what does she want,. We want another room and compensation. By this time the two girls were traumatized. For this inconvenience my daughter wanted half of her money back. This was only the 2^nd day and we still have 5 more day left for our Thanksgiving vacation. I forgot to mention the A/​C did work. Took the manager an hour to fix it, The manager reimbursed her for a half of a one night stay. That was not comparable for the suffering that her and girls endure waking up to finding a lizard in there bed. The manager gave us another room key and now we are back in our original when w first arrived, She then called Priceline wanting to know what she should do. Now the hotel manager is unavailable to take the call from them. Priceline told her to wait 3 – 4 days for resolution. The next might inn the hotel after the call to Priceline, there was an adult roach in the bathroom, When my daughter found out she was livid. On the final day of check out my daughter was doing the girls hair and there were 2 adult roaches sitting on her phone charger. She was done, she had it and called Priceline and let them know that she want this resolved now and she wanted to know what Priceline is planning to do about it,

Hotel is a joke. We booked our room because it was close to Knotts. I think they rely on that because they obviously aren’t expecting repeat business. The office was difficult to find as it wasn’t clearly marked, and looked like it was falling apart — In the office behind the desk I could clearly see exposed wires and holes in the walls. I was willing to give them the benefit of doubt because I could hear power tools; maybe they were remodeling.
I was half right.
The hallways to the rooms had random towels and trash bags littering them. One room was open and was being remodeled, with power tools, drywall, and a very powerful smell of bondo or some other harsh chemical permeating the air. it was made all the worse because the hallways were not air conditioned which turned them into balmy, suffocatingly odiferous saunas. And the room… How do I adequately express the shock and growing outrage that we were charged $ 70 a night for this shit-​hole.
There was a mini kitchen straight out of some 70’s crack making nightmare. The refrigerator’s freezer was coated with ice, the interior was cracked, the stove was filthy and corroded, the vent above was bent in half, the sink had water damage and cigarette ashes underneath it.
As for the bed, the sheets had black marks on them, the mattress had brown stains, you could feel each and every spring, and it was topped with a lovely polyester comforter that added no comfort whatsoever.
The carpet had a perfectly shaped burn imprint of an iron at the foot of the bed. None of the furniture matched, they all felt salvaged from some dumpster or other. The «kitchenette» looked like it had been stolen from Taco Bell and the chairs had cigarette burns in the fabric. The air conditioner sluggishly pumped out stale air loaded with the smell of all the previous occupants.
The bathroom door looked to have been busted in and repaired, and while I didn’t check the functionality of the bath/​shower, the toilet had only been hastily scrubbed out and you could see the streaks from the toilet brush.
The entire time we were there we were expecting the cops to bust in yelling «Freeze!»
Perhaps our first warning should have been the EMTs leaving as we were arriving…
Needless to say, we didn’t stay longer than it took to return the room keys. The extra money spent on a better hotel was worth the peace of mind and safety of our car and ourselves.
There are better ways to waste your money than on this place!

DISGUSTING! We booked the hotel for 80 because of the location being right next to knotts. There were people in and out all night it was loud. There was a bloody towel near the stairs and i told the manager and when we left it was still there… Gross degenerates in and out. Stitting in front of the building. Do NOT STAY HERE. ESPECIALLY WITH A FAMILY

Half the room was redecorated. New tv, refrigerator and microwave. old carpet, old beds and smelled of smoke even though the door said it was no smoking room. But you get what you pay for. If I’m going to Knott’s it’s definitely within walking distance

It’s no Hilton, but it’s your basic run of the mill inn/​motel/​hotel. The office staff was welcoming and the room was clean.
Came with a microwave and a fridge in the room, and they were in the process of updating their rooms with better technology (flat screen tvs).
Staff let us check in 2 hours early, surprising since we had used some free
credits to get the room.
I have a few complaints, though. I’m pretty sure some people who were there actually LIVE there… like seriously. The guy across the hall from us was obviously on something hard as he was yelling with his door open, went to the office, yelled at the staff, came back to the room, and yelled some more. Then proceeded to go to the pool to swim and socialize after the yelling fits. And the towels are incredibly small. It’s like trying to wrap a dish towel around my butt.
Other than that, it was a basic place to lay my head.

Would not recommend! Get the one star only because we could walk to Knotts! Chose based solely on proximity to Knotts Berry Farm to take the kids. Price was reasonable, but that came at a cost. My car was vandalized parked directly in front of the office. The room below us played their bass filled music ALLLLL night and when we finally got out of bed and dressed and went to the manager, they said, «yeah they do that» They seem to be renovating however our room was not one of them. Worn, torn and not very clean; not to mention I awoke with bites… upon further looking, there seems to be a bed bug problem! They appear to house full time residents who obviously don’t walk the straight and narrow. Seems their extended stay guests take priority over one nighters. Lesson learned, will drive and park next time.

This place is a total dump. I thought it was so-​so upon check in and I needed a last minute place to stay so despite the outdated rooms and shabby appearance I decided I could last til morning.
Very wrong.
Woke up scratching at 4:30…
I immediately did a check on the bed to find a bedbug crawling off my leg!
I went down to speak with the night keep (who was sleeping under front desk area) who told me that I the bedbug I had in the cup in my hand was brought from my house and I planted it. That’s what my «people» do.
Whites? Mexicans? Jews? Women? Which people does he speak of?
After I threatened to call the police he moved me rooms but said they would do nothing else to help me and not to expect a refund.
He is lucky that a 2 inch glass separated us.
Choice needs to drop this hotel from their brand.

This one star is only for the fact that place is so close to Knotts. We stayed there last night and will never return. Woke up this morning to a backed up toilet and tub. The tub had feces coming out of it, yes feces! Had to use the shower across the hall. When we tried to get some reimbursement for it the front office said they would give us a 20% discount next time we came! I said «Really!!! Do u actually think we would come back?» None the less, didnt get compensated, i just wanted to get the hec outta there.

We had the most worst night there ever. The smoke smell horrible, the run down of this place, the noise, parking sucks too, the water even smelled like smoke. I was so afraid for us to sleep under the bedding of bed bugs from the outside did not look pleasing. Needless to say we won’t be back
ADVICE: change your night stay somewhere else RUN away from this

I found this thru Expedia. Worst experience ever. I like the proximity to Knotts and the price.

I had a reservation and cancel on the spot. We saw guys walking around drinking Malt Liquor, people driving and exchanging money, and druged out ladies who looked like Prostitutes. Worst all they had no security. Most of the other hotels were $ 40 more. I bit the bullet and paid the difference.
If I stayed I would not have slept. Worst all, the $ 40 savings would offset the possible car vandalism or theft. Worst all my life or injury.
If you are okay with shady places a nd want save a buck this place is okay. This is a heavy statement because i grew up in a bad neighborhood. I am understanding but not on vacation. I rather get mugged in my own hood.

the ONLY positives about this place are the price and how close it is to Knott’s Berry Farm/​Medieval Times. Other than that I would NOT stay here again.
I left my room to eat breakfast and go to Knott’s Berry Farm at about 9:15. When we all returned for a break around 4:00, NO ONE had come in the room to clean.
When I went to the front desk, the person tried to argue with me and told me I must have put up the do not disturb sign. well, my room didn’t even have one so there is no way I did that. then he changed his mind and tried to blame the staff telling me they can only do so much since there is only two of them. I suggested he get more housekeeping staff if they can’t do their job efficiently.
Maybe they didn’t clean my room because all the housekeeping staff was playing in the pool with their kids? Staff appears to stay on site (places in the back) and management does too (places in the front).
Oh, they also appear to allow prostitutes to stay here too. I was woken up no less than 4 times during the night by the room next to me. i could hear the same girl moaning and different men each time talking. Quite embarrassing for me since I have younger kids and I’m sure they heard it too.

ICK. so I was on a non smoking floor (every door had non-​smoking room) and all you could smell was smoke. The building is old and dingy. I’m giving 2 stars because the staff was nice but I wouldnt stay here again. Everything was just run down.
The WIFI never worked and they had 3 accounts.

On a whim, my boyfriend and I decided to take a mini-​vacation to Orange County. But as we were on a budget, we didn’t have a lot of extra money to spend on a nice hotel. I searched on Orbitz and found the Roadway Inn near Knott’s Berry Farm, which is where we were planning to go. It had decent reviews and was affordable ($ 70 over 4^th of July weekend).
We checked in around 11 p.m. and the small parking lot was packed. Luckily, after checking in, we were able to find a parking spot in the adjacent parking lot near Subway.
Despite being older, the room was decent for the price. We got a king-​size bed and were surprised to find a full-​size refrigerator and even a stove/​oven in the room! Had we been staying for more than one night, that would have been a great bonus. The room was spacious and the bathroom looked like it had been recently remodeled. There’s also free wi-​fi but you have to get the code from the office.
My biggest complaint in that the pillows were terrible. I’ve never seen such lumpy pillows! It was hard to sleep despite the bed itself being comfortable.
All in all, I would consider staying here again if I’m looking for a cheap hotel in Buena Park… but I’ll be bringing my own pillows from home!
