Great location staff is friendly and provude great customer service! Jonathan seems to be the main worker i interact with, he has been nothing but helpfull, friendly, and attentive to not just mine but other customers needs as well. Location is clean… Cooled… They also prvide food and drinks… They also do allow outside food and drinks which is awesome… The corn dog dish is pretty good… My exp with the pizza was not so good… Got mine pretty burnt… Besides that aweaome experience!

Fun, comfortable environment, and friendly service. They were very helpful when it was my first time there and I would go back!

Used to be better years ago but they have barely upgraded anything and most the games on the PC’s they require you to own to play. Also they don’t let you use your normal steam account so your limited a lot on what you can play.

I used to frequent this place a lot, as in every weekend a couple years ago, and the place was always fun, but customer service seemed to be lacking a bit, I stopped in recently a couple days ago and found that had all changed; I was greeted and helped promptly by Rose, I ordered a pizza and a all-​day pass and decided to play some PC games. Rose brought out the pizza super fast and asked if I needed anything else. (found out that she also plays League, guess it’s just cool to know that the employees are passionate about gaming.) Overall Rose was super helpful and provided great customer service! Considering my recent experience I will definitely be coming back soon!

Amazing service!!! I went in not knowing what to expect but I had the help of Rose to guide me. She was very helpful and answered any question I had without judging me or anything. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would go again she was one of the nicest people there. Thank you Rose for such lovely service

Cool place for gamers but NOT FOR DOTA PLAYERS! Even worker there (DOTA players) says PCs here don’t work well with DOTA somehow. Never ever come here for rank match. They refunded me so it’s all cool. Ambiance of the place kinda sucks tho.

Honestly as far as gaming café’s this place is as good as it gets. Their computers are great, and they have a wide selection of games to play. This Howie’s in particular excels in customer service. All of the staff is extremely friendly and happy to help and most of them took the time to learn my «gamer tag» and always greet me by it. They really make you feel like your at home here. Lorraine in particular is amazing and a leader as far as customer service goes. I live next to the Howie’s in Mission Viejo but drive the extra 40 minutes just to come down and receive the warm and friendly welcome that the Buena Park howies has to offer. I really cant say enough about it! This place will not disappoint! Ps. Bring back the tournament nights that keep the place open till 7am!

Stay away from this place. It’s overpriced. Their computers are slower than a potato. Their computer display is smaller than my phone. Even their xboxes are terrible. On top of that, their employees are bunch of teenagers with ZERO customer service, who are rude and unprofessional.
I wanted to play some game for few hours, instead I payed 18 $ to sit and watch downloading bar. I wanted to play Dota2, but their computer downloaded god knows what for 50minutes. I couldnt take it anymore and switched to xbox, but played CoD with no sound. All i could hear was bunch of elementary school kids swearing next to me.
I tried to complain to them, but i almost got lectured by this brat with pimples all over his face. They dont refund, i guess thats expected of these crooks. Again, they are practicing very disgusting business just like their employees. I hope they bankrupt soon!

Infinite hours of gaming!(well, within business hours) So many games to choose from, great staff (ask for Nathan), comfortable lazy boy chairs, and, if you can afford it, nachos, wings, etc! Give it try. Won’t disappoint!

I’ve had my son’s birthday party for two consecutive years at this place, and I’ll be back next year. The only downside is that the first party was pretty amazing and the second party was just good, but mostly because many of the people I invited did not show up or couldn’t make it at the last second. I recommend that if you have a guest list, you should be really selective on who you invite and be prepared for if they don’t come. You can also reserve a certain amount of seats and have the children share. Also, what was great about the first party is that they served all the pizzas and drinks together, and the pizzas were in boxes hot and ready. This year, it took a bit longer. I did bring my own food, but that’s because I didn’t think one pizza per kid was going to be enough to feed everyone, including the adults and other smaller children who weren’t taking part in the game playing. The pizza was served this time on flimsy paper plates. But hey, I appreciated it anyway. Just thought if I’m paying for the food to be included, the pizzas should be in boxes and they shouldn’t be almost burnt. Basically whoever was cooking the pizzas did not do a great job. They also served the drinks toward the end of the party. Still, the staff was amazing and friendly. They were attentive to the kids’ needs and even made them laugh and feel comfortable. I loved that I could kick back with my friends and moms who brought their kids while all the children were occupied. I love the atmosphere and the easy clean-​up. And I also want to give them two thumbs up for allowing us to stay awhile after the three hour time frame so that my son could open his presents with all of his friends around him without cutting into game time.

The computers are decent not too great. The service is mostly by teenagers so there are good days and bad days in regards to customer service. The screens are pretty small for a Lan center (computer). I wouldn’t recommend going there at all unless you get the all day pass, if you don’t it’s overpriced.

Am I missing something? My boyfriend and I are gamers and decided that we could have a fun date night here playing games together. He hadn’t been to the location for over a year but he was really pushing that we go. We got there, set up an account for myself, and decided to play some PC games. Little did we know that you need to own the games or have them in your Steam library already to play them. Then what is the point of coming here when we can just buy them and play them at home? Lame! Isn’t part of the deal of being a game shack to provide the games to us? Or is the money we’re paying simply access to the hardware? If that is the case, they need to make that more obvious before someone drops $ 40 only to hit paywalls. We tried out Dying Light’s multiplayer on the Xbox only to have it lose connection every 10 minutes and kicked us out of each other’s game. When we initially tried to played Star Wars: The Old Republic, the game started downloading «main assets». It wasn’t even installed?! The second set of PC’s we hopped on had the game installed and patched, thankfully. I ended up just playing Diablo 3 until closing on the boyfriend’s Blizzard account, again, something we could’ve just done from home. I liked the atmosphere, for the most part, except when some mouthbreather ran into my chair and waddled off without so much as a sorry. Employees were super nice. I don’t think paying $ 20 to play games we already own is a good deal at all. Maybe I’m just old school, but the PC cafes I used to go to provided the games in their entirety which is what made the fee worth it.

this place is like over price PC-​bang. but at least this place is clean and everything seems nice. i usually get the all day pass, it was $ 10 last year. i had some time and went the other day and it was $ 20. the employee told me two words. «obama care» i’m glad that they are getting covered but screw the people who’s coming to have fun with friends. since i came with my friends i couldn’t back out. the computer i was using kept glitching. i only had 45 minutes left so there was no point, because if i go on another one, that can have more problems…

Heavily overpriced, but my closest location recently closed down when I came back from summer vacation. There’s cheaper alternative in Yorba Linda, but I was too lazy to drive all the way and drive back home later. Closest one near my area, but overpriced. Fast internet for gaming aka. League. But their service is okay, not superb but manageable.

This place is horrible, I came once before it was okay. But I came last night.
They charged us, then they said that there internet wasn’t working and they didn’t wanna refund us. (Remember) we didn’t play one game!
We were there for 2 hours for nothing they were trying to fix it.
Well after that 2 hours they gave us our money back. Waste of time here. I won’t be back!

My son loves this place for playing minecraft! It’s a great place to hang out and play games for a decent amount.

This place is AWESOME!!! My nephew had his 12^th birthday here with 10 friends, and all the boys talked incessantly about the fantastic time they had at Howies! They enjoyed it so much and dubbed this place a «boys heaven» because they could play any Xbox video game without interruptions from their «parentals» and younger siblings. After the party ended they held a lengthy and animated discussion about who would have the next party at the facility, and even created a calendar for the new year so they could all be available to return to partake in the festivities.
Howies offered a wide variety of fun and exciting games for the boys to play. NBA 2015, Madden 2015, and Call of Duty were hot topics after the party, and provided a dose of healthy competition amongst the friends.
The staff were wonderful, patient, and very accommodating (great job Ryan and Lorraine), and were very attentive to the kids and the adults.
Superb job, Howies Game Shack! Thanks for making my nephew’s 12^th birthday very memorable!

My son has been here a few times and I gotta admit the first time I was kind of leary letting him hang out and play, but after talking to the staff and getting the lay of the place, all is well. The staff of great and the game selection is good. The all day pass is the best bet for the money and being able to add money to an account without having to leave cash or credit card with a teenager is great. Plenty of gaming pcs for him and his friends to play to their heart’s content.

Hands down the best Howie’s I ever been to.
The other two Howie’s I went to was alright but I prefer this one. (if you are wondering where the other to it’s in Mission Viejo (Main) and Moreno Valley.)
Where to begin? Hmmmm… my best friend introduced me to this place after our spontaneous trip to Santa Barbara for Mac’s Fish and Chips, we came back to Grove but really didn’t want to go home. So she recommended to play some zombies at Howie’s; on which I didn’t know there were such thing as a game shack in USA till now. I’m not a gamer but I’ve begin to become one after that.
Giving this place five stars but really it should be infinity cause the staff are MARVELous, friendly and funny. Games are fun, I worked my way up from Most Wanted, Tomb Raider, Need for Speed and then Black Ops one and two. Getting the hang out that one now. They have pcs too if you’re looking to play sims or minecraft.
Did I mention about the hot food they have there? Chicken tenders, pizza, nachos, mozzarella sticks, pretzels, jalepenos popper (which aren’t spicy to me), corn dogs and churros. All delish. Ya’ll should try the chicken tenders, it’s the bomb and can’t go wrong with chicken. You just can’t
YOU GOT TO GET THEIR OWEEY GWEY CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!! Its delish and get them while they are fresh and warm out of the oven.
And I just realizes I ramble a tad too much. Oh well, just saying this place is THE place to go if you want to get away from home for a bit, a place where you can battle with your friends and hang out. I would like to called this my secondary home away from home.

Great place to have fun with your friends and play video games all day. If you are a gamer then this is like your second home. The staff are awesome and very helpful. They have tournaments every weekend that gives out prizes. They have all the latest TOP 20 games in the market such as Call of Duty, WOW, League of Legends etc. You can play all the games in two different consoles (x-​box or PlayStation) and in PC. The place is always clean and stack with foods although all they serve are Junk food they do have pepperoni pizza and it’s really good.
The Cons? they’re food can be expensive and they do need to update their PC. It lags at times but so far they have been really good in handling all the latest games out there in terms of graphics. Gone are the days those violence we heard about PC place back in 10 or 15 years ago. They are now very family friendly and the younger generation that play these days have manners and respect on other people. The manager that runs the place have definitely kept it that way.
