IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I made my reservation through
for a king suite plus pull out. I was running late for a wedding, checked in and left when I got back I asked the two men at the front desk where the pull out was they told me that my reservation did not include a pull out. The younger man whom I assumed is named Robbie, was VERY demeaning he threw the corporate number at me when I asked to speak to someone else. He kept saying that this was not his problem since we booked through a third party and was not polite! He was loosing patience with us and kept asking how many times he had to reiterate himself regarding the discrepancy and patronizing us. Clearly customer service is NOT his forte.
Second: this place definitely doesn’t deserve the name «quality» inn. The room smells musty like there is obvious water damage. The shower is clogged so anyone that takes a shower must do so with standing water.
Probably the ONLY redeeming quality about this place was the texas shaped waffles.
I will NEVER stay here again and will make sure to let everyone know that this place is awful and the customer service is horrendous.

I have been attempting to contact the manager, «Robbie» for almost 24 hours now. I called at 11AM, was told he would be in at 2, called at 2 was told he would be in at 4, called at 4 and was told he would be in at 6. I have been affected by the flooding in Houston, and am unable to make my trip. I was trying to reach him to see if I can get an exception for the 72 cancellation window (what hotel requires 72 hours anyway!?).
Admittedly, I’ve never stayed here, but based on my experience over the phone, I definitely would not consider staying in the future.
UPDATE: After calling the «main» customer service line, and being on hold for 20 minutes, they magically were able to connect with the elusive «Robbie.» He did not care that flooding was an issue, and that the cancellation of plans was beyond my control. He offered me half price for NOTHING. He said he had lots of business, and my cancellation was losing him money. I told him that if he would have cancelled it when I called for the first time, 24 hours ago, he could have easily rebooked the same room. I will be disputing the charges. This is a horrible franchise, and I’m not thinking much more of the corporation as a whole. NEVER will this chain get my business.

it’s no surprise this awful (and smelly hotel) has a one star. Stay away!!!

Stopped in from a very long trip from Wisconsin to attend my grandmothers funeral, I had reserved a room in advance, but when I arrived to check in I was greeted at the counter by a very «RUDE» individual who claimed to be the owner. He refuse to honor the amount that was quoted by phone and his favorite words were «I don’t care» and «because I said». I immediately mentioned. «you obviously don’t care about your customers» ! I proceeded to walk out and let him know that I wasn’t going going to spend a dime in his very poorly kept establishment !! After deciding to write a review, I had the chance to read the ones that had been posted, Wow, this rude encounter was most definitely a blessing !! Never will I step foot into that hotel ! I may catch something !! One big 0 star from me !!

Wish i had looked at Unilocal before booking. Wish that I could rate them at 0 stars.
To sum it up, traveler beware don’t stay here and don’t use a third party prepaid booking service where you can’t dispute the charges.

I was unable to get home on Friday (10/​30/​2015) due to the floods. My subdivision was surrounded by water. I stopped at the LaQuinta, unfortunately they were booked. I then went to this Quality Inn. They had a room, the rate quoted was $ 159.00/night! I explained my circumstances to them and asked if there was anything they could do with the rate. I was told «NO»! After I checked in I checked on line, the going rate at this hotel was $ 100.00/night! They are obviously in the business of taking advantage of people in trouble! They do not understand what it means to be an American, or a Texan that helps their neighbors when possible. I support making a profit with your business. Not gouging people in trouble! Please avoid this hotel!

Do not make a reservation for this hotel. They require 72 hour cancelation. 72 hours??? Are you kidding me? I was booked there to work an outdoor event. Event was cancelled early due to the weather forecast. My reservation was for Friday night; I called Thursday morning to cancel and they are charging me one nights stay. I called another Quality Inn in Texas where I have a reservation 2 weeks from now because I’ll be damped if I stay at a chain with that policy. The other quality inn has a 24 hour cancellation policy. They had never heard of a hotel requiring 72 hours. Even other hotels in the same chain think it’s absurd.
Stay at the La Quinta across the street. I’ll be staying there next time.

Buyer be aware! They do not honor reservation rates! We came here for the F1 race weekend and had a confirmed rate from Hotels for Hope for a suite. As we were checking in that reservation was no longer in a system but was swapped to a regular two queen room — really — for 5 people? Miraculously a suite just became available while discussing the situation and they told us that we can have it with a rate that was 50% more than what our confirmation showed or of course we can go somewhere else. Sure — they knew very well there’s was no other place to go, all the area hotels were booked solid. So we took the room with the new rate and they promptly ran the charge through the credit card. Huh? Don’t you usually pay at check out?
I got a hold of Hotels for Hope support explaining the situation. Even they were not successful to have the hotel to honor the reservation rate UNTIL contacting Choice Hotels corporate. We were then issued a refund for the difference but no apologies offered. Leaves me wondering how many others got screwed like they tried to do us?
The room was smelly and the sofa bed mattress so bad not even a child could sleep on it. The mattress consists of a thin fabric and springs — no padding between fabric and springs to be found. Luckily one of our party was a truck driver and we were able to use a mattress from his bunk.
This said the main beds were very comfortable and along the TV and the wet bar with refrigerator the only positive things about this place.
The room was relatively clean but since the windows won’t open there was no way to air out the stink. You were forced to run AC all day and all night long freezing the poor bastard sleeping on that side of the bed.
The breakfast consisted the new standard for cheap hot breakfast, premade eggs and instant sausage patties, cereal, waffles, and yogurt.

How is this place still in business??? Terrible experience. The smell was awful and the room was dirty. The Internet was not working. My mother asked why and they gave her a reason. I asked a different employee and got a completely different answer. Now it’s a game, so we kept that question coming in ways that didn’t know it was the same room. They gave us tons of different answers. How dumb do they think their customers are? It was awesome to hear them lie, and poorly at that. We laughed forever about it.

AWFUL. We called and made a reservation for a wedding block and were quoted a rate of $ 89.99. I didn’t get a confirmation email, so I called back to get a confirmation # and to re-​confirm the same rate. When we arrived, they mysteriously had no record of our reservation, or my brother’s reservation, and wanted to charge us $ 150. The check-​in guy was completely unhelpful and defensive when we showed him our confirmations and asked why he wouldn’t honor them. Ended up staying at the Holiday Inn. Avoid this trash hotel and the terrible management.

We booked a room for two nights online using points. When we arrived, the front desk person tried to charge us first: $ 40/​night because we had more than two people in the room (2Queens and a pullout room) and, second: contradicted himself and tried to charge us $ 56 and told us we were lucky, as he could charge us $ 80! My husband told him we were using points to no avail (nowhere in the booking confirmation did it say we would be charged if we had more than two people). Since we booked same-​day, it was too late to cancel and if we had walked, we would’ve lost 32,000 points. When we asked for the number for Choice to complain, he told us «Choice doesn’t own me» and there was no number and «Choice are pimps anyway». We are forced to stay here to avoid losing points. Unbelievable service and yes, we are complaining to Choice asap.

We stayed here this past weekend and our experience was interesting.
We tried to check in early (around noon) but the owner/​front desk guy said we couldn’t do that. However, if we paid an additional $ 25, he could have a maid clean a room for us and we could check in around 2pm. I told him no thanks, we will be back later. The guy was totally trying to hustle us.
So then, I ask the guy if I can use the restroom and he tells me to use the Ladies room as the Mens does not have water. Really? OK… So I go to use this restroom hesitantly as I am a guy and don’t want to intrude and am thankful to knock and open the door and it’s a single person restroom. When I turn on the lights, I see that the bathroom is absolutely disgusting. I mean there was paper everywhere, the toilet was covered in feces, it stunk. You’d think that like most hotels, they’d keep those lobby restrooms pretty clean? Guess not here. It was nasty.
So we return that night to check in and thank goodness there was a different person on duty at the desk. That guy was friendly. The parking is not plentiful so good luck finding a spot later in the evening.
I was worried about the room but it ended up being a nice room that was clean. We had no problems with the room.
The elevator did go out the following morning so it was a pain to get everything down 3 flights of stairs but we managed.
Also, someone took a dump in the stairwell. It was pretty gross. I saw it when we were leaving. Who does that?

Met the owner at check in, nice enough guy and he said they were remodeling from top down but it will take more than new carpet and furniture. Wifi is slow and TV isn’t digital. What’s the use of having hi-​def if the picture isn’t. Mike, the owner, he went on about breakfast. Sausage patties, boiled eggs, brown gravy for the biscuits, give me a break. Did I mention overpriced? Room was clean enough but property is tired and the area is too. One Burger King and c-​store at the exit. I could go on but the wifi is so slow, did I mention that? Country Inn down the road is much better. Starbucks close and better breakfast and a bar.

We were in town for a wedding and decided to give this Quality Inn a try. The room quality was terrible. We came across a couple bugs crawling on the ground. I killed them and flushed them down the toilet thinking it was no big deal. But pretty soon we kept seeing more and more bugs crawling out of the corners of the wall. We woke up to see several more in the bathroom. I saved a few of the bugs and showed them to the front desk worker. He said he couldn’t do anything and said I could call the manager. I called the manager, Bobby Patel, and told him about our experience. He asked if we had bed bugs to which I said «I hope not» but there were bugs crawling all over the floor. He went on to tell me there are bugs everywhere in Texas and that my stay met the standards of Quality Inn and any other hotel in Texas. He did not apologize or offer a remedy. Instead, he told me he was busy watching Sunday football and following his fantasy football team.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Made a reservation at this hotel more than a month before my arrival. I booked a suite with 2 beds and a pull-​out sofa. After driving all day, I arrived as planned, and was told that they did not have my reservation.
I pulled up the confirmation I had saved in my laptop computer and showed the desk clerk whose name is Mike Patel. He then looked through his available rooms and told me that he could not give me what I had reserved. He offered me instead a room with 2 beds, no sofa. I rejected the offer. I explained that is not what I reserved.
Mike Patel replied, «Take it or leave it.»
Incompetence and insensitivity to others may be the norm in India, but I will never make plans to stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was terrible! I wanted the hotel to be a nice as it looked from outside, but as soon as we entered the doors it reeked of mothballs! Then as we entered the elevators, it reeked of smoke. Heading to the 2^nd floor hallway, it smelled like air freshener. Our AC unit took forever to finally cool down, thank God we left for dinner. When we woke up to hop in the shower, the shower head was broken! It was spewing water EVERYWHERE. Called the front desk to ask for another room key just to hop in the shower but the hotel was booked. Said maintenance wouldn’t be in until 10:00am to try & repair shower. Needless to say, we were beyond upset! When we came downstairs to check out, there were plenty of other guests who were upset about their stays too. The desk Mgr refused to discount our rate even after knowing we didn’t even get showers! I will be taking this up with our credit card company! Lastly, when we got home, all our clothes in our suitcases smelled sooo bad from the mothballs! Had to wash everything! Its a shame these are franchised hotels. You think you’re getting a good company brand but really you get the owners poor business calls. Will not stay here ever again!

I stayed at the Best Western Southgate the weekend of October 19^th. I was the makeup artist for a wedding party who was also there that same weekend. People were coming to my room to have their makeup done. I didn’t check in until about 11 pm on Friday the 19^th. Upon walking through the door, the odor of the place knocks you off your feet. I would typically never go into these kinds of details, but I was appalled. The place smelled like a combination of mothballs, curry, bad breath, and a lingering stench of cigarette smoke. I walked in and waited at the front desk for about 3 minutes. I saw a guy in the back on the computer and another one the dining room. Finally, the one in the dining room asked if I had been helped, I stated «no». The guy on the computer jumped up, in a panic and rushed over to help me. The room was $ 99/​night (the bridal party special, I was told).
I walked into the room. The smell down in the lobby also made its home in the room. I requested a non-​smoking room, but it smelled like someone was under the bed smoking 50 packs of cigarettes, not to mention there were cigarette burn marks on the night table. When I request a non-​smoking room, I should not smell smoke anywhere! I pulled back the top blanket and sheet to find wrinkled sheets and hair that did not belong to me, which is utterly disgusting! I know that I can go to the Hilton Garden Inn and Suites, pay the same price (that wouldn’t be a «special») and know that I am in a clean and comfortable place. I slept with the lingering thoughts of waking up with scabies and bedbugs. DISGUSTING!
The next morning, my boyfriend called the front desk and the phone rang and rang and rang. No one answered. A little while later, I called the desk and the phone rang and rang and rang. Then my boyfriend called again and asked for the Manager, Mike. He explained the situation about the smoke stench in our room. Mike let us know that he can’t control someone who smokes in a non-​smoking room. My boyfriend also complained about no one being available at the front desk for phone calls. Mike lied and said that was not true and that there is ALWAYS someone there. He also told my boyfriend that he would refund the second nights stay, but needed to speak to me, the cardholder. I would have been happy with that and kept my mouth shut. Well, when I called Mike, he told me that he would refund our 2^nd night if we left and found somewhere else to stay. I told him that was impossible seeing as how I was hired to do makeup for a wedding staying at that hotel. Mike ended up refund me $ 16.95 for the first nights stay (not sure where that number came from).
When I got home from this horrific experience, my clothing, $ 1600 Louis Vuitton, my shoes and anything else fibrous that had been exposed to that reeking hotel stunk so bad it made me want to throw up. We had our pillows in the back seat of our car and kept getting whiffs of the disgusting odor from that hotel. I had to wash everything twice and take my back and dress clothes to the cleaners and told them to de-​funk everything!
I called customer service at the Best Western headquarters, because I was not happy and I want some compensation. I was told I would receive a call back but have yet to hear from anyone. I told them that the hotel needs someone from Quality Control to check that place out and get to the bottom of that horrendous odor!
On a a final note, the bride of the wedding party, who was staying at the hotel, called my room at 2 am on the 19^th and said she thinks she was staying across the hall from the apartment of the manager/​owner and her room was being filled with the strong odor of curry, asked if she could bring her wedding dress to my room to keep it was absorbing the smell. Its pretty sad that my room even smelled better than hers! DO NOT GO HERE! They are unprofessional and gross! I won’t even mention the breakfast!

Filthy hotel with bed bugs and dead beetles. I stayed in a room for 1 hr and I had 3 bed bug bites when we asked the help desk he came in to the room and looked at the dead insects and he was telling us they were just beetles and not bed begs.
*** They had dead beetles in that room*** Don’t they clean the room before some one checks-​in? I guess no.

We traveled this last weekend with a 23 month old baby girl. From the moment we got there, we got calls from the front desk that our daughter was causing «too much noise» and that other guests were complaining.
One day after shopping, we walked into the hotel with our daughter asleep in her stroller. We went up the elavator, with her still sleeping in her stroller, and when we were unlocking the door, we could hear our phone ringing in our room. We walked in and answered the phone and it was the front desk complaining that our daughter was being too loud for the other guests. We tried to explain that 1) we hadn’t been there all afternooon and 2) she was still asleep in her stroller at that exact moment. It was all very maddening to be accused of being too loud when we weren’t even there.
The air conditioner in our room wasn’t working at all. We spent the first day and night sweating profusely. We called the front desk, but no one ever came and helped us out. The next morning (after sweating through the night), I went down to the front desk and reminded them that our air conditioning wasn’t working. The lady at the front desk pointed to a list of room numbers (there were about 8 – 10 room numbers on this list) and said that there were several other rooms ahead of us on the list to have our air conditioners worked on. Needless to say we spent the rest of the day in a sweltering room. When asked for a discount on our room, we were told they couldn’t do that.
I will never stay here again and this was a horrible experience.

On Dec 9^th I received horrible service from the Best Western in Buda Texas. We checked in around 5:30pm put our things in the room and then went out for dinner. While at dinner we found out that my wife’s mother had been rushed to the hospital. We returned to the hotel (around 7) to collect our things and I informed the front desk we had to leave due to an emergency and asked if we could get a credit or a partial refund. The owner came out and told me that «she didn’t care» and when I asked her for her name and to write it on a card she would only give me her 1^st name and then proceeded to toss the card in my face. We called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. Also our non smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke and the entire hotel had a curry smell. Stay away from this place.
