Sagebrush Coffeehouse was the only coffeeshop open past early evening in the small town of Bryson City. In fact, it’s open until midnight! They have free Wifi. I got a mocha. It was tasty and one of the strongest coffee drinks I’ve ever had. I had the jitters that night. The proprietor is a friendly guy who locals fondly call«Cowboy.» The paintings on the wall reminded me of Texas. There were a few tables and benches. The most popular room seems to be the game room in the back. I wish they had more food options. There were only plastic-wrapped pastries when I went in October 2015. Sagebrush is the weirdest(in a good way) coffeeshop I’ve been to. It’s like a local community hangout. No hipsters here. They seem pretty accepting of visitors. I was dirty, sweaty, and tired from hiking 10+ miles in the Smokey Mountains earlier that day and still felt welcome at the coffeeshop. There was plenty of parking along the nearby streets. I think there’s even a small parking lot to the left of the storefront. Sagebrush is in a convenient location in downtown Bryson City.

My wife and I have been coming here for months. Bryson City is a very sleepy town and this is the only place that stays open late(besides the bar). The owners are very friendly and Cowboy will attempt to make anything you request. I’ve never had a drink that I didn’t like from Cowboy. Because it is attached to a church, this makes it a very family friendly environment. They also offer frequent customer perks(10 purchases = 1 free drink) which is nice for regulars.

Glad to get a decent cup of latte in the morning. There aren’t any chain coffee shops in Bryson, and I hope it stays that way, because individual run shops like Sagebrush more than make up for them. The Latte we had this morning was top notch. Although the town looks sleepy and easy going, this place opens up at 7am sharp for your early morning Joe. Friendly folks, good coffee, easy going ambiance, Texan host.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, very reasonable prices, and very friendly folks to chat with. Hands-down the best place to get coffee in the area, and they’re open late too! The owners are awesome people and make you feel right at home. Will definitely stop here again next time I’m passing through.

My husband and I come in every Friday night to enjoy the coffee and play a board game. The owner is very nice and the shop is clean and decorated really cool. Everything is in a cowboy/saloon theme. There’s a magic show, billiards, and games to enjoy while you’re here. It’s a great place if you have kids; they have a little play area for them and a chalkboard on the wall. I highly recommend!
