Hidden Creek Cabins

Giving 2 stars just because of the view and location, otherwise will not be returning to this place. Drain in bathtub does not work properly, bathroom door is broke, paint falling of the ceiling, and hot tub is gross. Save yourself and find somewhere else to stay

We rented the chestnut lodge. From viewing the photos online we thought we were going to have a wonderful time. Not even close to being the case. Upon our arrival, we noticed that there were very large gaps in the two sliding glass doors not allowing them to fully close. We called and spoke to Alice about this issue and she stated they would be fixed in a couple of weeks. Great!!! How does that help us? We had to use duck tape to close the gaps. Also, that night when we went to utilize one of the futon beds it broke while trying to pull it out. The next day we called Alice again and reiterated our issues now including that the AC was not cooling the cottage. She said they would be out that day to fix all of our complaints. Well, their «maintenance man» came out about 5:00 and installed a window unit. Well the maintenance man installed the unit but by doing so left the the window wide open. We had about a 3 foot by 3 foot opening not filled. I instantly called Alice again and demanded a refund. She stated they could only refund for the nights we did not stay there. What a croc. We were not happy from the time we walked in the door. We ended up leaving the next day and renting another cottage. Was the worst experience I have ever had. DO NOT RENT from this company.

We stayed in Krestview Kabin in April 2015. Yes, it has a view… of the busy highway and a power highline right in the backyard. The cabin is very basic and overpriced. It has THE most uncomfortable bed in the Master bedroom that we’ve ever slept in. The cabin was infested with mice. Fortunately we had our dog who caught 5 of them during our 3 nights there. You can find much better places for the same money. Also another cabin is very close, and their music becomes your music. At least it drowned out the highway noise and the hum of the power lines.

We spent two nights in the Kountry Kabin. Overall, the location was gorgeous and the accommodations exceeded expectations. A short drive to Bryson City, Cherokee, and hiking. The hot tub was clean and offered a stunning view. The cabin was cozy and I loved the views!
A couple issues will lead us to use a different company for our next cabin rental.
1-​We paid for the rental noting the cleaning fee would be added. It ended up being $ 90! This took the price from a decent deal to slightly above average in cost. I wish we had known this extra cost up front or for it to be included in the rental fee. Upon arrival, we learnes that even with the $ 90 fee, we are responsible for all trash, dishes, linens and towels. Completely understandable expectations if we hadn’t paid the fee! My suggestion is to up the rental cost to include cleaning fees, and ditch customer cleaning responsibilities. Very odd and felt deceitful.
2-​The master bed was tilted into the middle. So my husband and I couldn’t stay on our own sides all night, because we’d roll into the middle! I slept terribly. I’m sure this isn’t true at all the cabins, but I highly suggest replacing the mattress or bed itself!

My boyfriend and I rented one of these to get away for a night and relax. It was so peaceful. Only thing that was not good was the rocky uphill drive to the cabin — drive something that’s not a Prius if you ever come up here. It was clean, private, and away from the crazy that I’m accustomed to. The hot tub was surprisingly clean and a very welcome way to relax. This a great place to go for an isolated getaway, especially if you want to just chill out under the stars and roast marshmallows next to a fire.

Stayed in Maggie’s Cabin and loved it. My husband, 6 month old son, dog and I stayed there for three nights. It’s very private and you wake up hearing the creek outside. Also the people in Bryson City are really friendly to tourists, which makes the stay more enjoyable. Everything we wanted to do was a quick drive away. We hiked at Deep Creek and then visited the Oconoluftee (sp?) Visitor Center and shopped at the NOC.
We will definitely be back and possibly stay in the same cabin or choose another cabin from Hidden Creeks.

I came with a group of 10 for a 4 night stay at the Ridgetop Retreat. Having just finished medical school in Miami, we were hoping for a relaxing trip in the Appalachians. Our trip was everything we could’ve wanted and more. Perfection. The cabin itself was well-​maintained and clean; it was stocked with everything to cook and grill without difficulty. The outside featured a hot tub, a fire pit, a charcoal grill, and a truly stunning view. We ate like kings, drank our body weights in beer, and gazed at the stars and fireflies. Like something out of a story book, shooting stars soared overhead with regularity. We were a short drive away from the town, making it easy to run to the grocery store (Ingles), or go white water rafting, or head out to hiking trails. During our stay, the neighbor’s dogs decided to pay us a visit, which was hilarious and adorable. The only minor complaint I have is that wasps or hornets have taken up residence in the aluminum overhand outside, but they never really bothered us.
We all had an incredible vacation, and we cannot recommend Hidden Creek Cabins highly enough.

I had high hopes for this mountain get-​away but came away pretty disappointed. We used one of the specials they offered on Groupon. It was from a Sunday to Tuesday. To start you can’t check in until 3 pm and then check out is 10 am so that really chopped away at the time there. We drove 4.5 hours to get there so quite a waste of time. Just a get-​away full of driving.
I did like how the cabins were isolated from other areas. There were about 4 cabins total in the area we were in. When you arrive the key is inside the unlocked cabin (doesn’t give me comfort that anyone can walk in there any time before we get there). Also the doors had flimsy locks and we had to prop the couch up against the main door because it wouldn’t stay shut or locked. Several of the windows were not lockable as well.
The cabin had an okay décor. We stayed in «The Cottage» which looks SO MUCH BETTER in their online photos. I give props to their photographer because the cabin doesn’t look like the photos if you ask me. The photo has different furniture than what is actually in the cabin. In fact I think they stretched the photos to make the rooms look bigger than they actually are. They said a cleaning person comes in during the morning which is why check in is so late. I don’t know why they paid that person to clean because the floors were filthy (with pockets of what looked like pet hair in corners and under the stairs), there were ANTS everywhere inside to include swarming the kitchen, in the bathroom and yeah even in our beds (even with no food around). While we understand the «rustic» nature of a cabin, this one was just not as clean as it could have been.
The best part of the cabin was the outside fire pit and creek area. Very nice! The creek is magical and quite relaxing. The fire pit was fun to use. We had to buy our own logs, they were not provided. There was a nice hot tub on the deck but we didn’t use it. The neighbors were fairly quiet and we didn’t really run into each other. There were some dangerous items left out in the yard like TV cable, wire hangers and large pieces of plastic.
No one came to greet us or give us that «thanks for coming» feel. No that they had to but would have been nice. The only source of heat was a tabletop heater and a nice fire furnace with a gas pilot. Downside was that the downstairs was always cold and the loft areas were RIDICULOUSLY HOT! There was an in wall air conditioner which said it had heat but yeah no it didn’t work. They supplied us with ONE… ONE TOILET TISSUE ROLL and a HALF USED PAPER TOWEL ROLL. ONE! I mean seriously!
Anyway… needless to say I won’t go back. My friend emailed them and complained about the ants and they did offer a 30% discount on the next stay but there is NO WAY IN HELL we are going back there.
I was going to give a 2 star rating just because of the outside creek area but I just couldn’t bring myself to do that. OH! And I forgot the awful stench of garbage for a full day and a half! The trash cans are right outside the living room window and the windows are paper thin. So yeah! SUCKED! Very disappointed as this place has potential to be great.

Such a waste of money!!!
This was our yearly family vacation and it was awful! We arrived with our cabin so close to another that you could lean out of the living room window and touch it. Of course their pictures on the website show it to be secluded. The campfire had broken glass and trash in it and all around the seating area which I had to clean up because we have young children. The hot tub was empty and broke. This was all just the outside! Inside was even worse. The place was filthy. The floor was dirty and sticky throughout the cabin. The kitchen was a mess. Dirty dishes were put into cabinets like they were clean. All cabinets (inside and out) had some form of dirt and stickiness on them. I had to wash all the dishes before we could even use them. The burners on the stove were dirty and rusting out. A shelf on the fridge door was broken, and of course the whole inside looked like it hadn’t been wiped out in months. The best part was we found an open bag of dry cat food in a bottom cabinet that was full of ants! As soon as I put it in the trash outside, tons of ants ran all over the cabinet and out onto the kitchen floor. I went to call the office from the cabins phone but it didn’t work. So I called from my cell on roaming charges since you’re in the middle of the woods. The office gave me maintenances number. Left a message and waited for them to call back. When they did, I was told the hot tub had just broke that morning, the cabin had been clean, and to use the ant spray under the sink for the ants. They wanted us to do pest control! We used the rest of the can of spray and still had ants running around 2 hrs later. I was afraid to put our food away! I called again, and the maintenance man showed up with more cans of spray and some traps. We were told to use those. So now we are on pest control all week on our vacation. We were told its the mountains and ants were to be expected. Nice answer! Needless to say, as the week went on we found ants in every room of the cabin, dresser drawers, on tables, furniture and they even got into my purse that was up on the kitchen table! I have never been so disgusted! If they would have cleaned the place and had the outside sprayed, I guarantee we wouldn’t have seen but maybe a few ants. A man did show up a few days in and change the motor in the hot tub. It took another day to heat up. So for the last 3 days there we finally had the hot tub. But, after it heated up, it was so scolding hot, we couldn’t sit in it. And of course, the temperature knob was broke! It was the worst vacation I have ever been on. We spent $ 1000 on this place. Don’t get ripped off like we did.

Stayed with a group of friends 10 in the red wood lodge… was not the beautiful experience I expected. While cabin was clean — - there were roaches. Linens were not the greatest and furniture mis matched throughout. Fun time with friends but we have had much better accommodations elsewhere.

I wish there was an option to give NO STARS. They have the absolute WORST customer service. We got a deal through Living Social and when we called them they wouldn’t honor it initially. They didn’t believe that we purchased a deal until we sent them the actual receipt. Then when we told them we wanted a weekend cabin, she said, «No, sorry. That’s not what you purchased. Weekdays ONLY for your voucher».
I asked her to read my ‘voucher’ closely because I specifically paid more so we could stay the weekend. She didn’t even apologize for being RUDE and continued on with her crappy attitude! My husband got on the phone with her and calmly said, «You know, I am really running out of patience with you. The minute I got on the phone with you, you have been nothing but be rude and make this experience absolutely difficult».
She acted like she had no idea what he was talking about.
When we got to the cabin, it was dingy, tiny and didn’t look anything like the photos posted on the site. Surprise, surprise. And of course my first night there, I came down with the flu and decided to leave within 24 hours which I’m glad I made that decision. I couldn’t stay in that cabin for another minute. I WOULD NEVER EVER GO HERE or RECOMMEND ANYBODY I KNOW TO GO HERE.

These properties are very different from the website photos. There was trash all around the camp fires. When we arrived at our «clean rental» there was a large frog just hanging out in the kitchen, as well as lots of spiders and mold around the kitchen appliances. I like to go camping, but when I pay for a cabin I want sanitary conditions. I would have rather spent the night in a tent, at least it keeps the animals/​bugs out.

The hot tub was broken during our whole stay. The cabin we stayed in was also attached to another cabin, even though it looked very secluded in the pictures. And things were dirty, moldy, etc. I was told I would receive a refund for the broken hot tub, only to get home and find out via email that I wouldn’t be receiving squat.
Just an all-​around awful experience.

My god father owns this buisness and its the best in town. I stayed at ridgetop reatreat back in June. It’s the best. Great cabins awesome views. At reasonable prices

Kind of disappointed with the experience of booking through Hidden Creek. I bought a
voucher for a two-​night stay and emailed the company to make reservations. The first sentence of my email was «I bought a living social voucher», but they didn’t tell me until after three or four emails that I had to book through a website. I SHOULD have seen it on the voucher, but I missed it.
The second point that I was not happy about… the voucher said I would be responsible for paying separate taxes and cleaning fees, which I was fine with. However, they didn’t tell me until after they ran my credit card that the taxes and cleaning fees were 40% of what I just paid for the cabin. On top of that, the confirmation email they sent informed me that I was expected to wash all the dishes I used and strip all the linens off the bed before I left. What the heck did I just pay a cleaning fee for?
The cabin itself was gorgeous, though we weren’t aware before booking that you pretty much need a Jeep to get to it without ruining your car. We’ve got a nice crack in the front bumper from where we had to go over deep ditches in the road and the car bottomed out. I can’t blame the company for that, exactly, but maybe a warning would be nice.
Again, we loved the cabin, but I likely wouldn’t book through Hidden Creek again.

My husband and I booked one of the Karolina Kabins to visit to celebrate our birthdays. While on the phone booking the cabin, I was offered 2 that were available, this one which had the hot tub, and one that did not have the hot tub. I specifically wanted that feature, which was the MAIN reason for booking one of these cabins in the first place, and said so to the woman on the phone. Upon arrival, we checked the hot tub on the deck, excited to experience the view from the hot tub, only to find out it was COLD. There was a journal for people to write in, and after flipping through, we found this is a regular problem. If you are going to specifically advertise an amenity, it really needs to be in proper working order upon guests’ arrivals. The hot tub failed to warm up before we left, so we didn’t get to use it once. Which also means we didn’t even get to fully enjoy the view as it was too cold to just sit on the deck. Not only did we not get to use the main reason for our visit, we had to listen to it the whole time as they ask you not to unplug it, and it is not a quite thing, placed right outside one of the bedrooms. The other bedroom backs up to the heater, which has to be run constantly to keep the cabin warm and is also very noisy, so there is no quiet alternative for sleeping. When we did arrive, the heat was not on (even though it was a 30 degree day…) and the cabin was extremely cold. The beds were horrible, very thin and uncomfortable, and the bedding also very thin, especially for winter! There is a full kitchen, but if you plan to do any proper cooking, you should take anything you need with you as there was very limited pieces aside from plates, cups and silverware. Furniture was cheap and *literally* falling apart-​not a wall cared for cabin. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay with this company. I even emailed them, twice, with my concerns, and they never responded to anything, so they clearly don’t even care about their customers’ experiences. I would advise to save your money and stay somewhere cheaper, or use a whole different company if you want to get an actual cabin that has any integrity. I will not return to their properties, or recommend them to anyone. The only reason I didn’t give it one star is because we did enjoy the fireplace, and the view is great on clear days-​if you are there in warm weather and can actually sit outside to enjoy it.

We stayed at the Farm House cabin and it was perfect. The cabin was very private and updated. Everything we needed was there including little things I forgot to pack. The creek was amazing and even though it rained all week we still had fun and enjoyed the hot tub. We cooked on the charcoal grill and enjoyed the fire pit. The cabin was extremely clean and there were heaters to keep the chill away. The satellite TV worked great even though there was so much rain. All the beds were comfortable and I’m really picky. I loved everything about our stay. We even had the Avanti Mobile Spa come for a couples massage. Awesome vacation!

My fiancé and I stayed at the Kountry Kabin over New Year’s Eve. It’s up a very steep road about 10 minutes outside Bryson City. First of all, the views were amazing. We could not believe how gorgeous the winter views are up there! The hot tub was shielded from the other cabins but you could still see mountains and stars. It looked clean and felt amazing after a backpacking trip the night before. There’s also a fireplace, a fire pit, a charcoal grill, and a full kitchen, which we took full advantage of. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. The bathroom was well equipped. Satellite TV was great for watching the New Years Eve countdown. We’re already scheming to get back up there sometime soon!

First of all, the location though very ‘hidden’ is amazing. My husband and I got married last year, but due to my moms very serious illness we could not yet take a full honeymoon. So we found hidden creek cabins on living social after deciding we wanted to spend our honeymoon/​cation in the beautiful Carolina mountains. So we got a great deal for 3 nights for Maggie’s Cabin. It was so scary driving to find it at night! But once we found it we loved it, you can hear the creek from every room
And it’s rustic charm is precious. We had the most peaceful, restful time we really needed both being chefs, us helping take care of my parents, his grandparents our schedules are crazy. So to just relax in the hot tub with wine and my sweet husband every evening was a dream come true, then coffee around the campfire in the morning was fun and just what we needed. It was so cold, but loved cuddling up to watch a movie to keep warm. Bryson city is small and be prepared because everything closes at 8, but the people Are very kind. Can’t wait to go back to stay in a frame chalet next time!!! We loved it and it was clean cozy, rustic and charming! A must for the cabins in NC!

My friends and I recently stayed here and loved it! They are pet friendly, their cabins are beautiful, and the owners are awesome. We stayed at the «Farm House» which had a creek side hot tub and a fire pit. The house was extremely cute inside and all of the furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and was quite spacious. We didn’t have the best luck getting Internet in this particular cabin, but the town is only a couple of minutes away and there is free wi-​fi everywhere there. The owners gave me a prompt refund of the Internet fee when I let them know the it wasn’t working. The location is extremely convenient to hiking and to go explore town. Everything you need is just minutes away. I would recommend these cabins to everybody.
