Deep Creek Tube Center & Campground

We came at the perfect time. There was Literally no one camping in the section we were in for our first 5 days. It was clearly off season. We were able to get to know the family that runs the place and they were very friendly and kind. I’m very confused by reviews that say otherwise. Perhaps it was a bad day.
We rented tubes twice. They’re $ 4 a day if you’re staying there too. The kids enjoyed the mine. You purchase a bag of dirt and use their sifting flu to find gems inside. It’s like many other gem mines in the area. An easy way I make some money off vacationers. But it was fun. And we were those vacationers.
Being so close to Bryson City and only able from the GSMNP is excellent. We hiked the 2.5 loop and saw 3 waterfalls. You can google more about those.
The bath houses were clean. There is hot water. No soap (hand soap or otherwise) bring your own.
On our last 2 nights it was labor day weekend. We got a Taste of what some of these more Negative reviews are about. It was packed. The campsites are, indeed, really close together and offer very little privacy. Other guests were load well
Past quiet hour. Some, even past midnight. Which is no fun with kids trying to sleep.
Instead of packing more people in, I’d like to see them offer more space per camp area.
Otherwise it was a blast! I highly recommend staying here!

This place was not what the website eludes to. We pulled up, paid, saw what we paid for and left. Way too congested. The campsites are way too close together and the staff was anything but welcoming.

Great campground. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of their cabins for the weekend after rafting the nantahala. The site is less than one mile from the national forest with lots of great tubing and hiking trails. We stayed in the Deer cabin which is very close to deep creek, less than a minute walk to the creek. My 5 year old nephew joined us for one day and he loved the tubing. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!

Great campground! We stayed in a cabin in October to go hiking during the day. Nice rustic experience though we did have electricity, bathroom and kitchenette! We look forward to coming back during tubing season!

Great tubing location. Not as fancy as some centers you’ll see farther out, but easy access to the park and you can float down and end your trip at their site — meaning you don’t have to strap your tubes on your car and drive them back… Grab some blue bell ice cream. Store has camping staples, river shoes (if you’ve forgotten them for half the price elsewhere). A fun half day adventure. Would be nice if they offered to run you up to retrieve your car from the park, but it’s a nice walk anyway.

I am going to update the review from the start of the experience to the end. Most all I said from the previous review is true. I think I just needed to be recalibrated of campsites from the west coast to the east coast. This experience is just above your backyard but I must say the creek being right there is very nice and its location to the state park is excellent. I still think the campsites are WAY too close but I looked at what the state park sites were and how much you would pay and it does give the edge to this camp site. Actually this campsite is very much like a KOA. it is excellent if you have kids and for $ 3 for a tube for the entire day is well worth it. The creek is a blast on the tube but be prepared because that is a cold mountain stream. this is probably a 5 star place if you have kids but for adults privacy leaves you wanting.

I love, love this campground. Clean. Quite. Family oriented. Great views for RVs, tent camp sites and rustic cabins. Right next to tubing stream. Near Smoky Mountain National Park and whitewater rafting center. Definitely a recommend.

A great base for tubing, whitewater rafting, and zip-​lining. They have campsites and cabins, some with a/​c and some with kitchen. Our cabin was a tiny one-​room, but plenty big for a family of four. The bath house was decent, and wifi available near the office an bath houses. But the best part is it is in a prime location for tubing. They’ll rent you a tube for $ 3/​day. Drive just a couple of miles north into the Smoky Mountain National Park and whitewater tube all the way back to your campground. It’s about a one hour trip when the creek is flowing normally. It’s a great place to spend a week with the family.
