Maloney’s and Erins from next door really have their little sibling rivalry going on… For a quick comparison, Maloney’s is more expensive for stronger drinks. Erins is more for people who want to chill whereas you’ll likely see more people dance at Maloney’s…but neither are really places where people are«dancing». If you’re a college dude, Maloney’s is perfect because they have beer pong tables, ping pong balls, and solo cups. Combine that with some bud light pitchers… guaranteed at least an above average night. There are specials all the time, and this place is literally just college haven. KO(one of the staff there) is awesome… we had a conversation the first night I was there, and he remembered where I was from when I came back 8 weeks later. Come check it out!

So many fond memories of maloneys. Small divey bar with friendly owners and great specials. Mug night is a must do. $ 2 to fill a giant mug with maloneys light(bud light) or maloneys dark(yuengling). Dart boards for you entertainment.

You know you’re a Villanova student or local townie if you frequent this place. Take that how you want to. Pros: Reasonable prices, Touchtunes(ROTM), photo hunt, good staff as owners are good dudes and place has best bartender on main line, K-O is the freaking man. Cons: Can get a little too crowded. I equate it to the feeling of being on a sunken ship; if you are here at closing it will make you want to quickly reassess your life. Great place to drink with your friends! Vs up!

Everytime I have been at Maloney’s, my friends and I have had a blast! The bartenders are great and the prices can’t be beat. As a Villanova student, Maloney’s is the«GOTO» bar and we all love it! Thanks for the fun —

This bar was just plain disgusting. I can’t believe it’s on the mainline. Anyway, I saw a girl get pancaked by a fat guy on the dance floor, and she totally knocked her head and blacked out for a moment. Then a drunken phil’s phan was in our face obnoxious about his loss on that evening. As we were leaving, I got called a «fag» for wearing true religion jeans and they claimed they wanted to fight me. what can I say, classy place. Worst place in the area.

I suppose a bar that has the vibe of a skeevy frat house and is full of bar goers that would enjoy said skeevy frat house is an attraction for some. For me, though, it is not. Maloney’s just tries way to hard to be a dive bar for college kids with fake ID’s to come spend daddy’s money at. The people there are uninteresting at best infuriatingly annoying at worst. The beer specials are far from good, even their mug club is a bit of a rip off designed for Bud Light swilling students who don’t know they’re not, in fact, getting a good deal. Their beer selection is below average, and during the school year it’s so crowded with the 19 – 21 year old crowd that you can’t move. After going to grad school at Villanova I dropped in a couple of times and told myself each time that I would not return(I’m not sure why I did…). The only thing that saves this bar from getting one star is the fact that there are, in fact, people that like that sort of thing. If you’re looking for a good dive bar in Bryn Mawr, pass up Maloney’s. There are other good ones within a very close proximity that are significantly better, having more character without the manufactured dive feel that Maloney’s has.
